That would be fine, if not for the 2nd part to the original rumor.

If "it" happens...I don't know, mayne, I don't know...

Well, since Saban puts an iron muzzle on all his assistants, we'll continue to never hear from him, or see him, and he's worn out his head coaching welcome, so it'll be awhile before he moves on to something else.

[/sigh]

Nuss showed some promising signs post-McElwain. Up until the last 2 months of this year, our Red Zone Offense was tremendously improved over McElwain. Our overall numbers were up.

But those last 2 games...lack of adjustments were egregious. Maybe he was handcuffed by Saban's FG calls against Auburn, but Oklahoma just pass blitz with no fucks, and Alabama never moved to any quick drop passes, draws, or any other potential counters. Stayed with 5-7 step dropbacks and time consuming routes, and paid the price in sacks.

I'm okay with that. He may be a douchebag, but he'd be a silent douchebag.

Yeah, his play calling was borderline criminal in the Sugar Bowl.

UW’s 2014 schedule:

? = toss-up

Aug. 30: at Hawaii W
Sept. 6: vs. Eastern Washington W
Sept. 13: vs. Illinois W
Sept. 20: vs. Georgia State W

Sept. 27: vs. Stanford ?
Oct. 4: Bye
Oct. 11: at Cal W
Oct. 18: at Oregon ?
Oct. 25: vs. Arizona State ?
Nov. 1: at Colorado W
Nov. 8: vs. UCLA ?
Nov. 15: at Arizona W
Nov. 22: vs. Oregon State W
Nov. 29: at Washington State W

9 wins and 4 toss-ups. With such a weak non-conference schedule and the extra Hawaii game, 10 wins should be the bare minimum for a reasonable expectation. Luckily, 3 of the toss-up games are at home.

We play you in Autzen and most of our offense is returning. I look forward to seeing our 11th straight win in person.

@TheRealOjHoward: Ready To See How This New Opening Plays Out!! #RollTide

:lol, maybe Nuss really didn't want TE's in the passing game.

Someone has discovered that after the first FSU drive in the 3rd quarter, you can audibly hear on ESPN's game audio Kelvin Benjamin calling out that Dameyune Craig was stealing FSU's signs.

Before they realize the sign stealing, FSU went 36 plays for 156yds. After, they went 30 plays for 229yds. After they changed signs, Jameis went 14 for 18 and 2 TDs.

Partially helps explain how Auburn's terrible secondary was able to cover FSU's 4 NFL-bound WR's & TE's so well compared to anyone else all year.

Wonder if someone will do a more in depth writeup.

Wasn't Jimbo the coach that employed the towel shield boys? He needs to bring them back and hire enough to cover all coordinators.

Yeah, we have used them in the past. A little strange to not have done it again.

Rick Ballou (radio guy out of Jax) says Kelvin Benjamin is going pro but Devonta Freeman is leaning towards staying. We will definitely miss KB. He has all the tools to be a fantastic pro.

I'll go on record as saying that I liked McElwain's play calling slightly more, just because it felt like he would default to the run. I felt like Nuss would default to the pass.

As for the Kiffin possibility... he's been inconsistent with his QB's. The passing game with Bray was solid. Not sure what he did to the guys at USC.

Hey, if Kiffin comes, does Orgeron show up to help recruit and coach the DL?

.

Someone linked to the part where you can hear KB mention it (just a few seconds after this link):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8fSWJpGvCA&feature=youtu.be&t=1h23m6s. "Dameyune callin all the plays."

Audio only: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1eUDomSCgOQ

I honestly have no problem with other coaches stealing calls. If youre going to keep using the same thing, expect other to pick up on it and take advantage of it.

Now if you got those calls/signals through non game footage then I have a problem with it

Kiffin never coached Bray but he did turn Jonathan Crompton into something that resembled a QB. Honestly I think it would be a good hire.

On former OSU HC Jim Tressel, I'm told he really likes his job with U of Akron, but at least 1 HC candidate is considering him as his OC

If Alabama hires Kiffin, Saban is going to keep him chained up in the basement so that the only time he's seen or heard is during practice and at games.

Saban doesn't let his staff speak to the media except during all of the media blitz surrounding whatever bowl game we're in.

and perhaps media days/spring practice. There's a single day that they're allowed to speak.

fucking wow.

Jalen Tabor, the CB who was with Florida for the longest, decommited, and then surprised everyone by picking Arizona over Alabama at the HS All star game...

Has now flipped back to Florida, and is set to enroll on Monday.

Only if you think that Kiffin will be hired as the HC with Saban stepping back and becoming the DC.

What makes you think that Kiffin is capable of coaching anything well, including offense? He was an offensive coordinator at US from 2005-2006 when they had Leinart, Lendale White, Reggie Bush, and Dwayne Jarrett. I haven't seen him do anything since then that convinces me that his success was anything less than the result of Pete Carroll and the pieces he was working with. He has always ridden his dad's coattails and has never convinced me he's anything other than a mediocre coach. Certainly not worthy of whatever Bama will end up giving him, if they get him. Also, I'm really glad Bama isn't going after Bobo, who is a much better offensive coordinator candidate, but I'm not sure he'd leave for a parallel position at someone other than his Alma Mater, when we could definitely match whatever was offered.

So when I talk about hiring him being the beginning of a downward spiral, I'm speaking of my complete lack of confidence in Kiffin as a coach and of him being a complete downgrade in every sense of the word from what you had before. Which is why I hope Bama hires him. :p

ESPN interview with Baker Mayfield on leaving Tech and enrolling at OU, full of LOLs. Such salt at not being named a 4 year starter after having worse stats than Webb in conference play and never actually competing against the pre-season starter at his position due to injury.

"I love OU so much, they're so amazing, with their great education and NFL players and I've been a fan since I was a little kid. That's why out of high school I wanted to go to TCU, I ended up enrolling at TTU, and if my appeal for football doesn't go through I'll probably look at other schools again."

After beating Bama, Trevor Knight probably has the start for the next few years anyway unless he reverts drastically. I'm sure he transferred to OU so he could play against Tech to prove the coaches wrong. but he probably won't get that chance. Never use spite to influence your decisions in life...
