Motherfucking Tilt Steering, ya'll

Just so everyone knows, today is the 32nd anniversary of the death of the Greatest Coach in the history of Coaches (Dead or Drunk), Paul "Bear" Bryant.

As SBnation pointed out, in this 1973 video, Bear is 60 years old, 3 years younger than Pete Carroll and Nick Saban

Who knew a life filled with Cigarettes and hard booze would age you quicker, while also making you the best football coach dat ever dern lived.

Have a Coke and Chips on the Bear today.

I had to look up golden flake because I just assumed it was a brand that folded before I was born.

I just learned that its brand native to Alabama and is still going strong today. I also watched a non-narrated tour of their factory for some reason. . Video starts to get real good at 6:15 when they put their chip bags through a wind tunnel for no reason, then a fat ass potato struggles to get through the conveyor which was comedic to me.

I remember the brand from when I lived in Georgia, but also because all the SEC beat writers make a big deal about how all they get at SEC Media Days is a bunch of bags of these chips.

$9.95 says Sotonye Jamabo and Nicholas Brossette are both heavy Tejas leans, which would leave Chris Warren out and give us a great shot at him.

Starting to get my hopes up.

Or a twitter.

John Burt decommited from Texas a few weeks ago, but recommited to Texas today! And yeah it looks like according to this fan edit that TExas wants Brossette OR Chris Warren. Washington can take the other

Golden Flake and Yellawood commercials are forever etched into my brain thanks to the Steve Spurrier show. They're an SEC staple.

I'll admit it, I never have liked the taste of Golden Flakes. Was always the "cheap" brand to me. I have brought shame to my heritage.

I agree, the texture was always strange and the taste is weird and tastes like chemicals.

Ha, I think Yellawood advertises on all the team broadcasts now.

The Raiders are looking into bringing on Todd Grantham as their defensive coordinator.

Fear of a GAF Planet
The championship game shouldn't be on a monday. They should push it into the middle of the week to let it breathe. No one was talking about it leading up to the game, it should stand out.

Fear of a GAF Planet
Why not Saturday, where football games actually belong?

Besides stepping on the toes of Herr Goodell, the idea is that the game should get a few days of sole focus. A weekend game means everyone is talking about the NFL games. A Monday game means everyone is talking about the NFL games that were played that weekend. A Wednesday game gets everyone talking about it and nothing else on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.

Sure, it doesn't matter to the diehards, but you want the most attention possible.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
It sucks because if you go by the ratings the most popular two sports deals in the USA are the NFL and then CFB. It can happen obviously, but damn I wonder what the ratings and hype for CFB would be if it was always played when the NFL wasn't also going concurrently.

Deondre Francois is apparently going to stick with FSU. Probably opens the door for Kai Locksley to flip to UT. Wouldn't expect all three to remain committed (De'Andre Johnson is already enrolled).

Yeah, Locksley will probably be the only QB in Texas 2015 class if he flips.

Its down to them or ITT Tech apparently. I really dislike the trend of recruits trolling everyone. They seem to enjoy making old alumni of various universities hang on their every word. I guess since they can't accept money it's the only satisfaction they can get

Your school is one SEC scheduling vote away from doing it so I wouldn't talk too bad about.

Nothing would change for us, we play Georgia Tech already. I would assume if the SEC did something like this that it would be an option for schools if they didn't want to schedule a true out of conference, power 5 game.

Daishon Neal said Michigan coaches told him that without football, he wouldn’t be able to go to Michigan. Neal’s dad said visit ended there.

Look,

We are all super creepers following 17 year olds on Twitter.

We deserve to be trolled.

All of us.

I think Locksley is coming to UT.

I don't think that Murray is actually coming, and I don't know that you can let him be your old QB taken in any case since he may wind up in MLB sooner rather than later.

That said, Assuming Hill and Boyd come to Texas and we get Mack and 2 of the RBs I'll be super happy with this class (but we NEED a QB, like yesterday)

I'd like Brosette, he seems like a great kid going through a lot. That said, I think his mother's health is going to keep him at LSU, and I don't blame him for it at all.

I think we get Soso and Warren.

If SEC did away with permanent rivals you don't think UGA and Auburn would schedule yearly "OOC" on years they weren't scheduled to play?

True, though there is a degree of separation in that I don't follow them. I follow the recruiting guys who obsess over their every move because it's their job.

And it's really hilarious seeing people get themselves overworked by these tweets, like they matter more than the games themselves.

Most of these athletes couldn't get into these schools if it weren't for being an athlete. I don't think telling them that is something that is appropriate.

I suspect it was more a bumbled attempt to prop up UM's academics than to insult the kid. Or like I just read on Twitter, "Mattison has probably said the same thing to a hundred recruits before, this kid is just entitled."

I don't think there's a nice way of saying "You're not smart enough to get into our school, it's a good thing you can play football."
