CFB 2015 Off-season thread: 12 Gauge backfires on Super Mariota, Mario FPS unlikely

Some casino or something released its over/under on win totals for all the major conferences:

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoo...es-releases-2015-college-football-win-totals-

I like the over on USC, under on UCLA, and I think I'd probably go with over on Cal as well.

Ohio State, Wisconsin, Baylor, and TCU the only teams with lines set at double digit wins.

I'd take the over on Clemson. Only 4 games that might be difficult, and I doubt they lose them all. Granted, if Watson gets injured, totally different story.

I'm actually thinking he's talking about some of the SEC restrictions, more than other conference's not following the SEC's rules. SEC went and made it hard to do any satellite camps (only within 50 miles of campus), restricted Graduate transfers (thanks Ole Miss, now players leaving schools after graduating, need 2 years of possible playing time, not just one), and the 9 game conference schedule (where he's still the only coach who's voted for going to 9 games.)

But sure, yeah, he's salty.

The SEC salt is delicious.

It's really just Saban whining about things so much. And really, his main gripe is some schools like Auburn having much higher COA stipends than others. Richt had a good point with that, everyone should show how they're calculating COA since it's up to each school at the present time. But Spurrier has a good point, you can't make things completely even, kids shouldn't be making a decision based on a few hundred extra bucks a year. Also if a school has a higher COA stipend, that just means they're providing less for their athletes than schools with a lower stipend. It all works out the same.

That said, some of what he's being said isn't wrong and it makes some sense to standardize some rules in the power-5.

CFP bids are in:

I definitely think of Minnesota and Detroit when I think of college football championships.

They should just rotate (Texas City, California City, Florida City) every 3 years. A city in one of those states will host each year, and the state has authority to pick the city they want to host it in.

There is like three cities in each of those states even capable of hosting an event that size.

Yeah but if each state has 3 or 4 cities capable of hosting, the actual city rotation will be every 11 years.

Florida:
Orlando
Tampa Bay
Miami
Jacksonville

Texas:
Houston
Dallas
San Antonio
Austin

Cali:
San Diego
Los Angeles
Bay Area (Sacramento, Oakland, San Fran, San Jose)

Yeah Austin is a stretch, especially since bowl games typically avoid cities with Power 5 schools. Houston, DFW, SA, and New Orleeeeens

Austin already has several events per year that they can't handle, I don't see why we can't throw another one on top. SXSW and the Texas Relays turn that city into a waking nightmare.

Screw that.

I guess as long as the cell connection is strong enough I can just watch a Vine of close plays. But it's still a bullshit rule.

Would have to think either Minny/Detroit get it one of the years. You know, to be fair, like the SEC wants.
Thing is, fans (and teams) treat bowl games as a vacation. And nobody wants to vacation in Minnesota in early January, and nobody wants to vacation in Detroit ever.

Sorry, rest of the country.

@SethEmersonAJC: Referee Penn Wagers has not necessarily retired, has just left SEC, per Steve Shaw: "You may see his smiling face somewhere on a Saturday."

So the SEC made $435 MEEEELLION DOLLARS.

Actually, $455.8 million. $31.2 million payout to each school. They will be delivered in 2 payments of actual checks.

Georgia's proposal to ban transfers who commit "serious misconduct" from transferring to member schools. Serious conduct is defined as sexual assault, domestic violence, or other forms of sexual violence. Basically, the Jonathan Taylor rule. Also, I bet Auburn coaches are pissed.

Also, fines for rushing the field by fans raised from $5k for first offense to $50k for first, $100k second time, and $250k the third time.

Ehhh I think that's being disingenuous, tress turned the program around and started this road were on now. Sure we had frustrations with him, but he locked up Ohio and basically made us a fixture at the top of the b1g

I wouldn't say Tress "turned the program around," though. That suggests the program was in a really bad state when he got it.

Cooper underachieved in many ways (Michigan games being the most obvious area), but he didn't leave the program in shambles or anything.

We're spoiled. We haven't had a prolonged downturn in ages - certainly not in our lifetimes. In terms of overall consistency I don't think anyone comes close to us.

Tress turned us from say, current Norte dame 8-10 wins a seasons but nothing great, to a contender every single year

Coop had some pretty fucking great teams, man.

Didn't get a national title, obviously, but those '96 and '98 teams were phenomenal squads.

I'm not saying Coop didn't deserve to get canned, but the vilification he gets is overblown.

Finally getting a PS4 because Amazon is going to start collecting sales taxes from Ohio residents this week.

Since there's no fucking way I'm venturing over to gaming side any time soon, game recommendations from CFB-GAF would be much appreciated. And no sports games because I hate sports games.

Bloodborne and Witcher are the big 2. You could also try Destiny, but the game is such a time sink with all the expansions.

Is Bloodborne any less intimidating than the Souls games? I attempted to play Dark Souls on the PS3 and didn't get very far into it. I like challenging games, but it was a bit too much for me.

I tried the Destiny demo and was not a fan.

Anyone play Evolve? It looked like fun and the reviews were pretty solid, though not exactly glowing.

The system comes with a code for TLOU Remastered, so that's nice.

EDIT: Looks like I could have gotten a bundle with TLOU and The Order for the same price, but The Order got such terrible reviews that I don't think it's even worth trying to change my order.

Evolve is super trash game and the online community is more or less dead already. It was fun for a few hours but it's gets very dull very quick especially when you're only playing with randos

Also super upset about Amazon tax thing here
