Thank you for letting these threads persist here. I know it's more work on the staff to moderate them. I appreciate you all putting in the effort.

I don't have any social media, so a forum is the only place where I could see a discussion like this and get differing opinions without it turning into the digital sewer.

The site is one giant car accident of mental health issues and outlandish vile rhetoric.

The internet as a whole rubbernecks the fuck out of the accident scene.

The owners benefits from everyone clicking on the site to see the over the top liberal reactions, the screenshots that get passed around.

The user base can't even connect those dots.

Same thing with their Microsoft stance. If all the Microsoft people their left, they would have no one to brigade and drive by topics. The views would go down and so would the money.

In my opinion, the gang violence happened for the same reason it happened in Sweden. People were downplaying and denying problems that came along with uncontrolled immigration. Immigration in itself isn't necessarily the problem, but because we went years and years with basically allowing only positive talk of immigration and shunning all criticism of it as racism, we ended up allowing the problems become too bad. And again, not that it's as bad as in the US or in Sweden, because it still is far from it, but it has certainly become much worse. Not only we have gangs here in Finland shooting each other, but the gangs from Sweden have infiltrated here too.

Youth in general have also become more radicalized. We've had an epidemic of people filming humiliation videos with their phones, robbing people of their clothes, beating bus drivers etc.

Our school system is broken too. We once were at the peak of European education, but for the past 20 years we have come down year after year. Lately we've had news of teachers lamenting how there are way too many kids at school who can't read. Yet we let them pass to the next grades. The pessimist in me says it's because they don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by not letting them pass to the next grade.

I sound like an old fart but I heavily think big part of the problem is modern social media.

Is not a government hit list for prosecution. If an employer doesnt want to do anything, they can just not look at it.

There are some dodgy entries to it already. But also plenty that make you say "hmmmmm", and this person is in charge of my children's education?

I think it's good esp for education. You don't want your children with someone who thinks murder is good if it's for someone your disagree with.

Every Mormon I've ever known, and its been a lot, are the kindest, most level headed, honest, and hard working people imaginable.

People are digging up messages of multiple people calling for Charlie's assassination specifically on the 10th, well before the 10th. It's quite possible the killer was in some group chats and organized this

When someone has been assassinated and a person's response is to put the victim in bad light, it is making excuses for an assassination. It's not only about disliking someone. It's about making excuses, as if these things that the victim said are somehow relevant to the assassination.

That said, I don't like this right wing version of cancel culture one bit either. The only thing that is good, is that it exposes how many teachers and professors and military people are making excuses for assassination and showing how much that kind of thinking is present within people whose job is to educate us, but that good is negated by posting names and faces.

Trump himself gives Kirk a lot of credit for his win. I think the failed assassination attempt helped him, but I can't be certain it single handedly one the election. For the monumental event that it was, it didn't stick in the public consciousness for too long.

Regardless, none of that contradicts my point. Kirk was not an "everyman".

They are really running with that narrative. I would bet 80% of left-wing voters in the U.S. believe that Kirk's killer was MAGA.

If things are to change, going forward there will have to be a rule of zero tolerance of hateful rhetoric on these streaming platforms. Hasan has been radicalizing people for years. This clearly needs to stop. Twitch should be more proactive in dealing with these political streamers.

Write your federal representatives. It's easy to send them a message on their websites. They (someone that works in their office) legally have to read it
 


The moment it was really over imo. Charlie was absolutely pivotal in the greatest political comeback in American history though, and in making sure it was too big to rig.

Holy shit. I haven't paid any attention to this guy before. I'm genuinely shocked that this sort of thing is allowed on a mainstream platform like Twitch. And at the way he so casually talks about it and gets cheered on by a live audience like it's just some normal acceptable thing. WTF

Yeah, there's no way no-one else knew about it. There was the musician with the song "Charlie Kirk dead at 31" released before his death and the person who posted that something big is going to happen tomorrow. Even if people didn't necessarily know who was going to do and what, they probably knew at least that someone was going to do something.

I'm not gonna post everything as there's quite a bit of it and some of it is just assumuption/speculation, but people are suspecting the dude has more to do with it than initially thought. e.g. romantic relationship, living together, friends with suspicious people, tyler's phone usage on surveillance during the plot, etc. If I were to guess, the trans dude likely knew of it, went along with it (maybe actively, maybe passively), then the actual shooting went down and he got spooked when reality hit him. Now he's cooperating. Who knows though until more info comes out.

Sounds much more sinister to me. We will have to see how this develops. There's a lot of stuff floating around that is eyebrow raising after the fact.
 
I genuinely feel in about a week we're going to hear shooter has an untreated mental health issue, either schizophrenia or psychosis and he's been different in custody.

This kid has gone off the deep end 100%

Can't believe that a sitting president wasn't able to stop a rigged election while in office but was then able to when he was out of power. I'm sure he wasn't lying to just get back into office and he'll release the proof soon (y)
