It's amazing how it's almost always low browers, artsy history majors, and creatives who cause trouble agitating the public.

How come you never see that chill suburban fam with two kids in after school soccer leagues who are so angry they do these kinds of protests too?

If the 129,000 is true for that age bracket, google says there's about 90M people in the US at that age. 0.14%

Youre talking about 1 out of every 700 people watching the show in that bracket.

For every 1M people in that bracket, only about 1,430 are watching the show.

Putting into perspective using sports, if an NBA or NHL game has 20,000 fans at the arena, only 29 people would be watching Kimmel. You're talking about 1 or 2 rows of people in a section.

This isn't really correct at all

In the end, Disney suspended the show because the two largest ABC affiliate companies Nexstar and Sinclair, who combined own around 80% of the ABC affiliate local broadcasting stations, already stated they were not going to air Kimmel's show. This is a right that the independent affiliates have because ABC doesn't own the local stations

Even if the FCC Commissioner had not said a single thing, the show was effectively going to be pulled for the majority of Americans. He could have kept his mouth shut and the result would have been the same

They signaled their intention to cancel Kimmel before the FCC commissioner threatened them?

Because those people lead real lives and are too busy for that crap.

That's insane. That boils down to him getting like 1,200 viewers a night in mid-size metro areas like Denver or Charlotte. In small Nielsen markets that's fewer than 100 people in the entire city watching his show!
There's probably more people watching an informercial selling product X for $19.99.

The funny thing is when you watch streamers talk the collapse of late night and Colbert (and now Kimmel) gone, they bring up a good point.

Out of all those viewers, how many are actually watching? Vs. people with the TV on just dozing off to sleep on their couch.

I wouldnt be surprised if half of the view count are people asleep. lol

Because we're too busy running around to said practices and games ;)

Still trying to wrap my head around what 'far right' means.
What's the economic stances of the far right? On taxes? On the family? On trade?
Historically/traditionally, far-right or extreme right was defined as anarchy or complete free market capitalism.(no state/gov control, zero government taxation)

Far-left was defined as fascist/authoritism/communism.(complete state control, 100% taxation, no private property/land ownership)

What really spread confusion in western definitions, was classifing the Nazis(hard-left socialist) as far-right, mainly to appease the Soviets, and as western nations became more secular, they classified religions as right-wing, 'charitable' organizations.
(Whereas I'd argue, most major religions are collectivist(left-wing) in nature.)
This shifted liberals, who were traditionally right-wing(advocating for indivdual rights and liberties) and less religious, over to the left in peoples minds.(I consider myself as a centre right liberal)

Edit: Also the US government legally classified coporations as 'individuals' giving them the same/similar rights and benifits as its citizens.

Right-wing adcovates for individual rights and liberties.

Left-wing adcovates for collective rights/governmental power.

Edit 2: sorry for any thread derailment and for getting super political.

Interesting take from the Vtuber:

The Left will rebrand itself and take free speech as its cause, using this opportunity to get rid of the insane people and drop LGBTQ, which only alienates normal people anyway.

Hey we got someone on the site who gets it. This is absolutely correct. It's why a certain contingent has to say things like "right wing nazi."

It doesn't exist.

You don't have to say "a man with a dingus." That's what a man is, by definition, which is why you don't need to say it. If nazis were actually right wing you would just say "nazis." They aren't, and so people tack on the description. The nazi lie is just repeated ad nauseam to try and get people to accept it as true. It's worked on a lot of people.

they call them nazis because they see them as demonizing trans gays blacks immigrants or whatever group like nazis did the jews. It's aint that deep. reality is the holocaust is pretty much the extent of american knowledge about nazi germany

Holyshit..

I recognize the tall skinny black guy there.

He was harassing Nick Shirley in one of his videos...which I think was an anti-ICE protest recently. He kept yelling anti-white slurs at Nick Shirley for no reason, totally unprovoked. He said shit like "You whites are dirty, you smell bad!" and he kept acting as if he was ready to physically assault Nick.

I think it was in LA....maybe I will try to find it. If true...that means he is likely a paid protester...funded by big money.

EDIT: Here it is. Not in LA, it's in New York.

I feel that conservatives are complete hypocrites that don't really believe in anything or they're retarded or both. But clearly there is something deeply wrong with these people.

Conservatives have always been gracious losers. Like a dude who forgives a cheating wife.

It doesn't really matter whether Kimmel was fired based purely on a business decision or not when you have the FCC publicly threatening free speech and the president saying he's going after broadcasters who are critical of him.

We can get into the weeds and track the timing of who said what and when the firing took place but that is irrelevant when the government has taken their hats off and are literally telling you what they are doing

Not true. The Supreme Court recognize that corporations have corporate personhood or a legal person that exist on paper with some but not ALL right of a natural person. That's why you can sue them as an individual and they can sue you as well. They can also own corporate property that belongs to the company etc.

It wasn't just corporations, unions were included in the citizens united ruling as well.
