It's an Orion computer, as previously seen in the latter part of season 2. It doesn't necessarily contain the Intersect, but knowing Stephen Bartowski, it could do...anything?aparisi2274 said:What was the xbox under the drivers seat in the mustang? I assume that is a backup Intersect...
Wads said:Oh, and I loved that episode. Love that song used at the end. I think they've used it before... just can't remember when.
That is correct. I was surprised to hear them use the same licensed song twice, but I guess the budget cuts are pretty deep. (see: CGI this episode)NotTheGuyYouKill said:I heard it was played during Stephen Bartowski's death.
As soon as he got shot, I remembered my conversation with confusingjazz about whether or not Dalton being on multiple episodes was a spoiler or not. There wasn't any reason for him to get shot there and have him come back for more episodes unless it was faked and he was a double agent. That and the fact that no one had been officially cast as Volkov yet meant it was probably either Dalton or Richard Chamberlain.jwj442 said:The twist with Dalton's character surprised me. After the bank scene I suspected he might be a double agent, but I had no idea he would be Volkov.
I don't know how many episodes he's going to be on, but having him as Tuttle for the majority of his stint on Chuck before switching to a villain probably wouldn't be that effective. That being said, he was hilarious as Tuttle, and it's too bad we aren't getting a little more. I'm not ready to call Volkov "straight up boring" just yet - we've only had one scene with him so far.Solo said:After a night's sleep, I'm angriest that they turned Dalton so fast. Volkov is a straight up boring villain while Tuttle was flat out awesome and was completely Hot Fuzz-Dalton

Edit: Yesterday's 3.7 household rating was the highest this season, including the premiere. Perhaps a slight bump is possible in the A18-49 demo?

Wahoo! And the World Series was on too!Cornballer said:Correct!
Ah, I see. Yeah, some more Tuttle would have been nice, though I don't know how much mileage they could've gotten out of that character in the long term. I do hope that they give Volkov some personality beyond the "dastardly bond villain" angle, though Chuck has consistently done good villains in the past. It's just that most of them get taken out pretty quickly by Team Bartowski.Solo said:I'm not suggesting this, but rather, suggesting that Dalton should have stayed as Tuttle, who should have been a legit character, and someone else could have been Volkov. Tuttle was basically the antithesis of Bond, whereas Volkov feels like a Bond baddie.

True. House regularly puts up bigger numbers that what the WS did last night. Kind of a bummer to have a great episode and a bump in ratings right before a hiatus, too.ConfusingJazz said:Dude, I love baseball and all, but the World Series doesn't draw eyes anymore.

Yes, individuals like Roark, the poisoner, etc...Screaming_Gremlin said:The fact they introduced him this early gives me some hope assuming the original plan was to have him last until 4.13. And I agree with the good villains, well as long as you mean individuals.
I agree with that - they've been a bit flimsy at times. Mostly used as a device to cover up some plot holes, and they've lacked personality.Their evil organizations I have been less than impressed with; both Fulcrum and Fulcrum 2.0.
That really surprises me. Baseball is the only sport that remotely interests me. Especially now that they cleaned it up.ConfusingJazz said:Dude, I love baseball and all, but the World Series doesn't draw eyes anymore.

Wads said:I'm not sure why it mattered if it was a PSP. It could have just been a video that triggered something within Chuck/intersect. Or, Orion simply could have retrofitted the PSP with his technology.
Wads said:About the thing with his mom, what she said sort of implies that it was either invented before she left or she had talked with Papa B since her disappearance. Perhaps they still talked together about Chuck after she was gone since he became the Intersect or maybe it has something to do with what happened in the computer room when he was a child. Either way, I doubt the intersect is gone for good. I would imagine that Chuck has learned enough by flashing and repetition to not get himself killed as a spy, but I doubt he would make an effective spy without the ability to truly kick-ass intersect style.
That makes sense - one of the last pieces of Orion is gone and they play the song again.sneaky77 said:I am going to guess that was intentional actually...

My first thought after that end sequence was "I wonder if they'll play it again if they blow up the car"Cornballer said:That makes sense - one of the last pieces of Orion is gone and they play the song again.

"Snake" by Frightened Rabbit (Chuck practices what he's going to say to Sarah)
"Ghosts N Stuff" by Deadmau5 (Chuck wakes up on the plane with Tuttle)
"We Don't Eat" by James Vince McMorrow (Mama B and Ellie talk)
"One October Song" by Nico Stai (Volkoff blows up Orion's lab)
"Kiss with a Fist" by Florence + The Machine (bank fight)
It's probably a combination Zach never studied any form of martial arts and he was meant to look awkward fighting despite he has the intersect, he shouldn't look completely comfortable in his skin doing that shit for the first time.Cornballer said:It's not really shown off in this clip, but Zachary Levi's action sequences (particularly the fight scenes) have gotten so much better the last couple of years. He was very awkward in the "I know kung fu" scene, and now it's much more believable.
CHUCK'S SECRETS AND SANITY ARE THREATENED, LEADING SARAH TO SET OFF ON A ROGUE MISSION--RICHARD CHAMBERLAIN GUEST STARS--Chuck (Zachary Levi), Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski), Casey (Adam Baldwin) and Morgan (Joshua Gomez) venture into the jungles of Southeast Asia when The Belgian (guest star Richard Chamberlain) attempts to unravel the secrets of the Intersect. Meanwhile, Captain Awesome (Ryan McPartlin) and Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) try to decipher a secret left behind by her father. Scott Krinsky, Vik Sahay, Mark Christopher Lawrence and Bonita Friedericy also star.

I haven't seen any interviews with Schwartz or Fedak regarding the additional episodes, but most of the speculation has said that they didn't really have time to rescript the first 13 (since they were already breaking/filming the last few when the news broke) so the back 11 will be a new arc.Screaming_Gremlin said:I wouldn't be surprised if it happened in episode 13 since that was going to possibly be the last episode. Since they got a back 11, they might push it out toward the second half of the season. I am not sure if there have been any interviews with Schwartz or Fedak where they have said how they plan on doing the new episodes, as a separate mini-season like last year or if they are stretching and fleshing out the current storyline.
