Another great episode, the whole cast was firing on all cylinders, and I think overall it's Yvonne's best performance yet. Such a complete turnaround from season 3's lack of spark for her. You know what struck me? She was a complete badass for so much of the episode, but she nailed the "lovestruck mushy girlie girl" look right at the end when she was holding Chuck's hand back at Castle. I just hope whatever she does after Chuck involves her getting to use her real accent, it's so much sexier for some reason.

Did anyone notice the chicken getting obviously thrown center stage during the fight scene? Need a gif. It was so obvious that someone just threw a chicken in front of the camera that it's got to have been deliberate...

Bad ratings last night. :(
Chuck (4.80 million viewers, 1.7 18-49)

EDIT: Ah, so the Dancing with the Stars finals were on last night.

Commentary:
THR Live Feed said:
On NBC, Chuck (4.8 million, 1.7) fell 6% to an all-time low, followed by a stable The Event (5.2 million, 1.7) and Chase (5.3 million, 1.4), the latter rising 17%.
TVBTN said:
Chuck dropped to a season and series low 1.7 with adults 18-49. The Event was flat vs. last week with a 1.7, still tied for a series low. Chase was up two tenths (17%) to a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating, the highest since October 18.

I get the power of a DWTS finale, but bummed that the usual-sized Chuck audience wasn't there to behold the power of Giant Blonde Shemale.

Maybe when DWTS is over... and football is over... and... well, I'm just happy people liked the episode.

Ugh, reality television.

Last night Yvonne was lookin gorgeous, and bad-ass at the same time. When she kicks Casey into the cell, so awesome.

Didn't like the ending too much though,
it seemed the whole lobotomy didn't really shake him up at all, even though the Dr. dude said he's almost "all gone".
Either way, I raised my fist in anger at the cliffhanger, but enjoyed the episode for the most part.

Sarah kicking ass was awesome, and i didn't really mind the whole realtionship/ emotions bit.
Can't wait to find out what the hell was on the computer for ellie

- 3 photos from next week's episode. Not much in these aside from some very minor location/plot spoilers.

Btw, last night's Dancing with the Stars episode was "TV's most-watched entertainment telecast of the season -- plus it was the biggest Monday finale for the show since 2007." Glad that's over for now.

Pretty good episode this week. Yvonne was really strong and I thought a good number of Chuck's dream sequences were done quite well, and the fight scene was great. Still hate how Chuck/Sarah centric the show is, but sadly thats a complaint Im going to have right through to the end of the series.

- am I forgetting something or wasn’t Sarah going rogue (w/ Casey and Morgan) last week to find Chuck? But now Beckman and the CIA are okay with it...
- when did Sarah become so co-dependant/needy? Smelling Chuck’s shirt seemed wildly out of character for such an unsentimental character
- Lester “who has a screw loose?” Jeff: “That has two meanings” :lol
- Yvonne has that Evangeline Lilly quality of looking even better when she is dirty
- great use of Wolfmother in this one
- nice callback to “the Magnet”
- Intersecting Ellie and/or Awesome would be the stupidest shit ever. Thankfully, Im certain that didn’t happen

I know you probably didn't make that gif, Cornballer, but this "let's take the color out of gifs"-fad needs to stop. Loses reusability.

REALLY great episode this week. Probably the best in a couple of seasons, in my opinion. I had just about given up on the show. It was still good for some laughs, but I had absolutely no investment in the overall storyline.

But man... this week was something else. Great production values, great acting from Yvonne for once (let's be honest she's not on the show for her dramatic chops). The episode just had a different "tone" to it. It's hard to explain.

All that being said, I don't think "she-male" means what the writers think it means :lol :lol

Absolutely. Felt the same way. It was way more emotional and character drama-driven than any other episode.

It also put the main character (Chuck) in the sidelines while making Sarah the main focus and giving a lot more importance to Ellie and Awesome than simply being part of Chuck's family.

ummmmmmmmmmm what

Chuck's not airing during the month of December. :(

Anyways, the only thing I'm not digging about Season 4 is that they're actually going with the no-Intersect-Chuck. I was hoping for him to get the Intersect 3.0, but they pull a fast one and have his current one suppressed. The flashes are always badass. :(

Being able to go from speaking French to karate to splinter cell moves? Fuck yeah.

Was anyone else getting some slight audio desync in last night's episode? It bugged the hell out of me throughout the whole thing.

Yeah, it was out of sync for me as well. That drives me friggin' nuts.

Damn that's a month and a half break after next week for chuck. Holy shit :lol

Disagree with the wolfmother being used well solo, terrible bad and a shit song, plus they used it too many times.

I didn't mind the sarah/chuck relationship in this episode, it at least felt somewhat grownup instead of a couple of high school students in love.

Thailand is famously known for having a bunch of men dressed and made up as women.

Edit- I think the writers know exactly what she-male means.

Last night was awesome, so much content, for the first time in any TV show, I can say that it has potential to fit in two ep. But they rushed into one, very dense and compact ep. Awesome.

I loved the way they go with Chuck losing memory, with very limited budget. Just getting the light of the buy more off. It worked. And it probably cost nothing, compared to the jungle shots. Good use of budget here.

First off, it was used twice, in rapid succession. Second, it was pretty much lyrically perfect for the episode.

so is there no Christmas episode this year?
NBC promotes next week's episode along with its other shows' Christmas episodes, but it's really a Thanksgiving episode. That's the closest we're gonna get. Thanks, The Sing Off!

I'm bummed about the lack of a holiday episode this year. Guess I'll do a rewatch of Chuck versus Santa Claus.
Hell yes! We should do a ChuckGAF double rewatch of vs. the Crown Vic and vs. Santa Claus somewhere in the week before Christmas.

I'd be up for that. Maybe we can do one on 12/13 and the other on 12/20? Both during the week before Christmas?

I did get a Sonya Blade vibe from Sarah... There was even a guy in the bar that reminded me of Kano, but without the metallic eye cover

Does anyone know the name of the song that plays during Chuck vs the Role Models when the stand-off between Chuck and the Turners ends near the end of the episode when the Turners accept that they're going to jail?

Here was the music used in that episode. I don't remember off the top of my head, but I assume it is the last on the list, although I included all of them just in case.

"Comin' Home Baby" - Mel Torme
"I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby" - Barry White
"Sans Soleil" - Mike Snow

None of those are it. It wasn't a song per say, so bad wording on my part. I guess it was something that was composed specifically for the episode.

It starts right after Chuck says "which would be perfectly justifiable, but unnecessary, wouldn't you agree, Sarah?" then lowers his gun.

My parents and sister watch chuck. The episode with Anna coming back is currently on (i'm not watching it with them) but my mum goes, why did she leave, i don't remember. Sister responds with didn't morgan try and be a sous chef or something like that and they split up.

*mind blown* :lol

That's just orchestral soundtrack music. I don't think that's available anywhere (unless I'm overlooking something.)

Finally had time to watch last weeks episode.

The Manchurian Candidate plotline keeps coming back more and more in every medium (
Black Ops
).

The Tai fighting plot could have been shorter though, a little too much.

I wished they'd overhaul the music part of the show. I don't like when shows cram in contemporary pop and make a montage where you are heavy handed an emotion. It could be handled better. And while I like the original music from Chuck, it needs some new themes. Though maybe there was in the latest episode, if I remember correctly. But they still reuse too much music.
