but ever so delicious
Nice little interview. I was surprised by Dolph, i expected a gruff hard ass voice and instead he sounded normal :lol

Seems like a nice guy

Hasn't Frakes directed an episode before? I may be getting it confused with a different series.
Maybe you are thinking of Robert Duncan McNeill? Frakes has been doing a lot of stuff recently though: Leverage, The Good Guys, Castle. Persons Unknown, I think. Interesting how he suddenly pops up everywhere.

Finished season 3 rewatch from "vs. the Mask" until "vs. the other Guy" until 5 in the Morning (couldn't stop earlier). So many loves and more hates in this episodes but "vs. the Beard" was clearly the most satisfying episode for me directly followed by "vs. other Guy".

Now i will take a 1 Day break from my Chuck rewatch and than its time for the awesome back 6 of season 3. :D

Are the budget cuts still around for this season? I remember the Casey helicopter scene from last season and I get douchechills.

If The Event does well we should.

That still seems like a weird rumor to me. I for one am hoping for a full back 9 pickup. Maybe we will get lucky and hear something later this week, since in the past NBC always announced it before the season began.

I don't think the budget will be that horrible of an issue. I think it was really only that noticeable at the beginning of last year (the mentioned Casey/mini-gun scene and WeaponsCon). By the end of the year they learned to work around it better.

I would assume it's pretty much where they had it last season.

It makes sense on some level that if Chuck is doing a good job leading into The Event, that they'll keep it going. If they have a set of two moderately successful shows (by NBC standards) on Monday night, I don't know why they'd see any reason to switch up the lineup.

Though another issue with that rumor is that Fedak clearly says back 9 a number of times whereas they were saying it'd be 6. Would be awesome to get a pickup before the season because they are putting together the last couple episodes of S4 (initial 13) right now.

I thought that too, but then I realized it was an episode of "Dollhouse" that he directed, another show that appeals to nerds like us. Apparently he has also directed episodes of "V" and "Castle".

Why do I feel insulted after every commercial for The Event?

For some reason, I want to punch everyone involved.

Because any intelligent person would be. Hey look, The Event! Isn't that exciting? Aren't you just dying to know what The Event! is? We want you to wonder what The Event! is! It's like someone took Flash Forward, distilled everything that was wrong about that show, and decided to produce exactly that for television.

I wonder if The Event might get canceled before the reveal of said Event.

Unless the reveal of THE EVENT is in the first order of episodes for THE EVENT then we will only ever find out the source of THE EVENT in a production diary for THE EVENT.

I found out what The Event is: THE CANCELLATION.

All the characters turn to white, and the final card just says: "Due to low ratings, this universe has disappeared."

No reason whatsoever to expect the budget to do anything but stay stagnant in a best case scenario, or drop even more. Rarely do budgets ever grow north again. S1/S2 budgets are gone for good.

The short synopsis is out for episode 3, "Chuck vs. the Cubic Z." The full synopsis should be out Friday evening.

A prison transfer delivers old foes the Buy More, canceling Chuck and Sarah’s romantic mission; Morgan gets a surprise from Big Mike.

SOO excited!! Shame House has to show in the same time slot, but I'll be picking Chuck as the one to watch anyways as usual.

I like the brief snippets from reviews, Cornballer, but can you actually post the links to said reviews too? Thanks.
Sure, no problem. They've only been from Twitter so far, so I've posted everything they've said. When there are longer reviews up, I'll post links to them as I won't put up the entire articles.

Oh, ok. I know you used to post links to the reviews all the time before. Didn't know these new ones were twitter only. Makes sense why they are so short then. :D

I think most of the major reviews are held onto until Monday night. They then get posted while the episode is playing or shortly after.

I assume a couple of places (Sepinwall, Televisionary?) will probably have a non-spoilerish "hey Chuck's back on, we've seen the first five episodes, and the new season is good" posts on Monday morning followed by an actual review of the first episode after it airs on Monday.

Magazine reviews will probably show up this weekend too. I expect a review in EW tomorrow when the new issue arrives.

Did you really have to explain every reference NBC?
I can't wait to see the Dolph Lundgren scenes. They look great. I am also glad that Chuck seems to at least to be telling some people about the search for his mom (and I assume his dad's basement) and not going back to annoying "lie about everything to create fake drama" Chuck.

Edit: Just watched the 5 minute video. Holy crap, this season looks fantastic.
Are you flexing?

It's good to see at least some promotion from NBC. Every bit helps, I guess.

The 5-minute sneak peek looks awesome. 4 days!
