Oh most definitely. I didn't read either of the descriptions, but I saw the titles of the episodes. Guess I'll tag that in the OP once it goes up.

Did anyone else cringe at just how out of touch the Chuck and Sarah Wedding website thingy is with virtually every character in the series? Feels like poor fan-fiction.

Those damn interns at it again.

Working again today...I'll be LTTP once more :(

New episode tonight!
Chuck versus the Cat Squad

02/14/2011 (08:00PM - 09:00PM) (Monday) : CHUCK INVITES TROUBLE WHEN HE REUNITES SARAH WITH HER OLD SPY TEAM – LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS, MINI ANDEN AND MEKENNA MELVIN GUEST STAR – Chuck (Zachary Levi) surprises Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) with her old spy team, The C.A.T. Squad, leading to a mission in Rio. As The C.A.T. Squad works to settle a score with Augusto Gaez (guest star Lou Diamond Phillips), old secrets and grudges come to light. Back at the Buy More, Morgan fends off the advances of Carina, a former flame and frisky member of The C.A.T Squad. Adam Baldwin, Sarah Lancaster and Bonita Friedericy also star.

The Charlie's Angels opening was pretty hilarious.

Edit: We can all agree that the mole was pretty obvious from the outset, right? Called it and was just vindicated.

The one weak part of the episode. It was so telegraphed from the very beginning I was hoping they would subvert my expectations. No dice.

- So are all these people at the party Ellie's friends or...why would they show up at Sarah's party?
- Strange to have an episode with Ellie and no Awesome
- The bad guys had no reason to not kill everyone in the castle when they had the chance
- Was kind of funny seeing hungover Sarah, again showing a little more personality than she normally does

I thought it was a pretty good episode, although it could have been a lot better.

- The traitor plot was obvious from the start. I can't say I wish they would have went a different direction with it, because Carina really wouldn't make any sense, and Zondra would only be less predictable in that it would be so simplistic that you wouldn't believe they actually did it. So honestly, I wish they would have just went with an entirely different main plot altogether.

- The opening scene was so cheesy, but in a good way. Reminds me a lot of the other Morgan dream opening. It also helps explain why they introduced Sarah as Sarah. After all, according to "vs. the Wookie" it is mentioned that she had a different name back when she worked with Carina (why I remember that, I don't know).

- I wish they would have used Lou Diamond Phillips character more. Although I guess he could be someone easily brought back like Steve Austin.

- Another information flash this episode. They are really making good use of that the last few episodes, which is good seeing how the first part of the season was nothing but kung-fu machine (which I guess existed in this episode as well).

- All of the Morgan scenes were great as normal. Whether with Carina or Alex.

- To Apoc29's point, I assume that party was filled with Ellie's friends?

Good, fun episode! I loved the Charlie's Angels cheesiness.

Also, is it just me, or does Morgan/Alex's relationship feel much more interesting and "real" than Chuck/Sarah at this point? I guess it's just fatigue, buf I'm a little tired of whiny Chuck apologizing every single episode.

Chuck is almost a parody of itself now. When the best part of an episode is Morgan, I think there are some problems.

I do like how they were using Madden 09 PSP bundles as random shelf props. I wonder what Sony would think about using 2 year old PSPs as product placement. :p

So you missed the HD-DVD players and fat iPod nano models that adorn the shelves every episode I see. :)

How about Nintendo? There was a GameCube on the counter during the dinner scene :p

Agreed on all points. On a related note to the bolded, it's interesting that Chuck still calls her Sarah even after her real name was revealed. She must identify more with the cover name than with her real name.

Haha, I guess I haven't paid attention to the products until today.

An old game system or old product in a home makes sense. Having old models of things or products that are not made anymore adorning the shelves of a retail store does stand out though.

I think the excuse Schwartz has given is that to Chuck she has always been Sarah, so there is no reason to start calling her something else. In reality, "Vs. the Fake Name" was a god awful episode and the less it is ever mentioned or referred to the better.

Whoops, forgot to post the music for tonight. From Sepinwall as usual.

"Turn It On" by Franz Ferdinand (the Cats take Sarah away and Chuck fights Amy and Gaez)
"The Parade" by Daniel Indart (Casey watching the club video feed)
"Eu Quero Agora" by Josephine Bauza (the Cats split up to search the club for Gaez)
"Pra Rua" by Rio Funk (Cats take out Gaez's guards)
"Rockers to Swallow" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Zondra and Sarah fight)
"Belongings" by Clock Opera (Sarah asks Zondra and Carina to be bridesmaids)
"Please Ask for Help" by Telekinesis! (end of episode)

In a home? Absolutely. In the kitchen? Tougher to justify.

Another lightweight, enjoyable episode. It was amusing enough, but I'm ready to get into the meat of the back end now. You guys already covered most of what I wanted to bring up (mole was predictable, LD Phillips was underused, Morgan + Alex was strong, etc...) Funny to see Carina get the cold shoulder from both Morgan and Alex at the end. Good music this week.

Reviews:
- Sepinwall
- Onion A|V Club (memles subbing in for their usual reviewer this week)

Good song. Reminds me of the Cure a lot.

edit: Pretty good episode btw

From the Sarah perspective, it's that her old name represents someone else to her and Sarah is her now. It's the same thing as Schwartz says but from both angles, remember Sarah isn't happy with her past, never really has been.

Anyway, I liked the episode but it probably could've been a bit more ambitious. Alex and Morgan are nice and gives the show a decent sense of normal that they don't have otherwise. In fact, I think that's the entire reason why they work, they're normal compared to all the crazy stuff that normally is going on in the show. Spy missions, creepy buy more employees, Greek Gods being doctors, etc.

I don't even REMEMBER Carina! Ha! I am glad to see Lou Diamond Phillips do something that isn't a syfy original movie or some direct to dvd horror film though.

It was a pretty good episode, but really predictable. By about half-way through I already realized
that one guy was the traitor and Ellie was going to be the maid of honor.

Love the show, though, but I'm seriously starting to think Season 4 (assuming it ends with the wedding) would be a great way to end the series.
