Huge Chuck fan here. Wanted to come into this thread and say it's good to finally be able to reply to my favorite threads. I have all 3 seasons on Blu-Ray and I'm totally stoked about new Chuck episode in about 25 minutes. Yay!

Yvonne has been especially hot these last few episodes.
I know. Dayum.

Lauren Cohan is looking good as well. Looks like she put on some weight as well, so she is o longer a rail. And already she is nowhere near as annoying as she was on Supernatural.

great episode

anyone else wondering why, if they're setting up volkoff's daughter to take over the evil empire, that she's with sarah and chuck in the next episode?

i'm stoked for next week!

Loved it - tops the Roan episode from two weeks back as my favorite of the season, easily. The show is so goddamn inconsistent now, but when its on like tonight, its on, and as fun and entertaining as ever. What pushed the episode above the Roan one was the Chuck/Morgan moving out scene about halfway through the episode, which was quite simply the most touching scene between the two in the entire series. So good. Otherwise, all the makings of a classic Chuck episode all around - great character interactions and moments, lots of laughs, some good stunt work, lots of nice twists and turns, and just entertaining as all hell.

- Sarah has led such a weird life - I mean, who doesn't know what a sock on the door means? :lol
- Casey: "what do you mean, have?"
- bad Chuck for insulting Eyes Wide Shut. Bad Chuck
- Volkov's daughter is very attractive - great eyes
- love seeing Ellie and Awesome as frazzled parents
- Yvonne looks stunning this season. A nice change for me because I thought she looked kind of ragged throughout much of last season. She looks to be back at peak hotness again
- Morgan and Sarah "hanging" was just as deliciously awkward as I'd always hoped :lol
- now there's a unique Intersect flash!

Agree with Solo. Awesome episode, and this is coming from someone who hated the Roan episode. Tonight everything just clicked perfectly with me.

I just wish they could find some consistency. This episode proves they can still deliver the S2 goods, but what made S2 so epic was that they were doing it weekly. S3 (moreso) and S4 have about a 50/50 chance of being awful or awesome from week to week.

Regardless, fucking awesome ep.

Really? I enjoyed the episode quite a bit, and it is one of the better ones from this season. But nowhere near as good as the Roan one (which I consider to be one of the series' best.)

Well, the Roan one and this one are leagues ahead of the rest of S4 for me, so wouldn't take any offense to someone preferring the Roan episode (I would however take offense to thinking anything that isn't these two eps is S4's best :lol). That episode certainly was more fun and had that great free-wheeling, standalone feel to it, while this one was a bit more mythology-central and opened up some new plot directions. Both excelled at their goals.

I liked it well enough for an episode that is obviously setting up the rest of the season. Still, there were some odd things about this episode which I think sort of held it back some.

- Poor Lieutenant Peggy. Although I never would have imagined that USA Prime Credit was actually a Volkoff front.

- That entire opening scene was just awkwardly awesome the entire way through. Bonus points for the bulk bear skin rugs and the angel wings.

- Sarah really has been more extremely hot than usual these last few episodes. Wow. Also, she makes a terrible dork when it comes to toys... I mean collectibles.

- I liked the scenes between Chuck and Morgan, although you would think he would have wanted to move out a long time ago (I know it was actually a giant metaphor for Chuck and him having to grow up and get on with their lives). Chuck and Sarah seem to never actually close their door to the bedroom. Although maybe Morgan actually liked that, so maybe instead they should have more scenes with Morgan creepily standing at the door staring while Sarah saunters around in her lingerie.

- I am glad they are actually finally addressing the fact that Casey has become sort of unneeded on the team since midway through season 3. Curious where they are going with his storyline. Also, when did they have time to build the castle within Castle?

- That whole action scene at the end did nothing for me. I didn't like the camera work during the horse chase (that and how slow it felt). I assume they were doing some of the blurs to hide the stunt actors, but ugh. Also, for as much as they talk up Casey's sniper ability, it would have worked better if he didn't have to close within 20 yards to shoot the guy. As much as I hate "Vs. the Fake Name" they did a much better job showing up his shooting ability.

- I liked Vivian and am interested in how they take that storyline. Don't really have a lot more to say about that now.

Solid episode, but not near the top for me. Of course, I am just out of it because of the flu, so I will have to give this one a rewatch.

This episode did have one of the best openings of any episode of the series ever.

This week on Chuck music (from Sepinwall as usual).

"Felicia" by The Constellations (Chuck and Morgan's Valentine's Day prep)
"Love Insurance" by Mike James Kirkland (Morgan and Alex have the living room)
"Immunize" by Pendulum featuring Liam Howlett (Chuck and Sarah at the masquerade ball)
"Send Me On My Way" by Jeffster! covering Rusted Root's
"Crinan Wood" by Alexi Murdoch (Morgan explains why he's moving out)
"No Time for Dreams" by Last Days of April (final montage)

I have to say this was the second best Jeffster performance of the season haha. Great episode all around tonight. Chuck keeps doing what Chuck does best :)

So what are the odds of
'lil Volkoff being Chuck's half-sister?
Around 100%?

Don't need to spoiler speculation. I would say no unless Mama Bartowski lied when she said she never slept with Volkoff.

Are there any spoilers regarding Vivian?

In this thread? No, not about anything that wasn't in the episode. If you mean on the internet because you want to see some, not really. They have been pretty tight lipped this season about what is going to be happening.

I kind of zoned out while watching this episode, and I missed the opening because of my stupid TV, but I have to say I enjoy Vivian. And I enjoy she wasn't just a one-off character and will have some sort of arc, maybe?

The previews for next episode were awesome though. Glad I have no idea what's happening next.

I thought it was good, not great.

The weird action stuff kinda took me out of it. Casey in an open field (no cover) was able to take down 40 guys surrounded on all sides. A little too much.

The face blurring.

And the tree branch thing.

But the rest, especially the Chuck and Morgan stuff, was excellent.

Agree. The episode was awesome. The only bad thing I have to say is a similar complaint to what was commonly said of last week's episode: the main plot was predictable. I knew Vivian would take over daddy's work from the scene where Chuck said "an opportunity fell on his lap". It was obvious that for her, that opportunity was to take over Volkoff Indutries.

CB, you can probably remove the spoiler from the 4.20 episode title in the first post now that this episode has aired. Unless other people feel differently.

Also, I can't believe Casey used the word "Charah" in this episode. Why must they encourage the crazy shipper people.

Somewhat odd pace to the episode, but it really ramped up at the end. It's a good transition into the story lines that will carry us until the end of the season. Nice work casting Vivian, and I'm intrigued by Robin Givens' character and what she's offering Casey. The horseback stuff was B-movie (C-movie?) hilarity, and I didn't mind too much. I just wish they had the creativity to break out some awesome stunts this season without relying on it so much. In the earlier seasons they did a lot of good stuff on (presumably) a pretty small budget (Sarah's fight inside the car, the gravitron fight, etc...). Anyway, I'm excited to see what they have in store next week now that the show has some momentum.

Not sure if I liked this episode too much. I wasn't paying too much attention to it to begin with so I'll probably give it a re-watch. Sarah in the angel outfit=yummy.
