Pretty much. Do these breaks, even if just a week, ever help ratings? Seems like a bad move to have a section of your audience forget your show is on because you skipped for some dumb reason.Domino Theory said:Returns April 11.

It is a complete joke, trust me I use to defend it during its run. Fucking terrible on all accounts. Also visit the Gaf thread about it, you will be sucked.Aguirre said:
- Rerun of Chuck vs First Class tonight. Hopefully we get a preview for next week's episode sometime tonight.Sepinwall said:Is "Chuck" the clear best show on television? No, and I don't know that even Schwartz and Fedak would try to make that argument. But it is a very fun, very warm show that sure as hell knows how to cultivate and mobilize its fans, who bought sandwiches two years ago to help keep it on the air, and who voted in force here because they felt they had to do something to send a message to NBC about renewal. As I've said, I believe the chances that this contest's results will influence NBC's decision to be somewhere between slim and none, but I understand the impulse and admire the passion.

TVbytheNumbers said:I got five e-mails this morning about why I hadnt written about Chuck winning the Hulu Best In Show" contest. Chuck crushed Dexter in the final round. Woo hoo!
But seriously, theres a very simple reason I didnt write about it: it means absolutely nothing to Chucks ratings or renewal prospects. If fans felt better or entertained by voting, good on them, but otherwise it doesnt mean anything. I remember well Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles winning similar polls by huge margins only to be canceled. For now, Chuck, which is a repeat tonight is still a toss up for renewal.
Heres another poll that wont mean anything to Chucks renewal prospects and like horsoscopes, has no value beyond entertainment purposes.

Damn, TVbytheNumbers is a lil snarky about Chuck aren't they? I know the poll ultimately means nothing, but it is a rather mean write up and poll.
MediaWeek gets results up quickly most of the time, though they're pretty dickish about Chuck, too. It'd be nice if there was a reliable source that posted daily results sans snarky commentary. TVbtN seems to thrive on trolling their own commentors and parroting press releases these days. Still, they're about the only source for the numbers that we have access to.PhoncipleBone said:LiveFeed on Hollywood Reporter was good for a while, but they are slow to update the info lately. Sadly, TV by the Numbers is the fastest to get info up, and it annoys me.
For a while they said it was the 18th, then they switched it up again.Tashi0106 said:Oh it's the 11th? I thought it was the week after! yes!!
LiveFeed was good about just getting the information out there and being done with it.Cornballer said:MediaWeek gets results up quickly most of the time, though they're pretty dickish about Chuck, too. "Chuck" star Zachary Levi has always had a deep and abiding love for the show's fans. During the Subway campaign to save the show at the end of season 2, Levi led a group of several hundred fans to a local Subway. When Fienberg and I somehow failed to get a single audience question in at the last San Diego Comic-Con "Chuck" panel, the only person more upset than the two of us was Levi, because he loves hearing from the fans and interacting with them.
So a few hours after it was announced that "Chuck" had won Hulu's Best in Show fan tournament, I got on the phone with Levi to get his reaction to the news, and also to gauge his feelings about where the show stands in terms of renewal. (A few months ago, when the show was consistently averaging a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 year-old demographic, I thought it was a lock to come back. These days, it's averaging about a 1.7, putting the show once again on the bubble.) During a break from filming this season's 23rd episode, Levi had mixed emotions about the result, given the show's familiar precarious position, and we talked about where things stand, what he's enjoyed about doing this latest season, and what his Comic-Con plans are, whether or not renewal comes.

MORE AWESOME ACTION FOR CAPT. AWESOME ON CHUCK
The spy world is a dangerous place, and after Awesome and Ellie welcomed baby Clara this season, I got a flood of emails asking if this was the end of the new parents spy adventures. Well, for the most part it was at least in regards to this season, when they resided primarily in Babyville. But things are about to change
It was really tricky because the first time Awesome got into the spy world, it was a little self-centered to be honest. You know, married life does have its lulls. He wanted to spice things up a little bit and get that adrenaline rush, Ryan McPartlin says. If he did that now with a baby, it would be really selfish. So [the writers] had to be really careful bringing us into the spy world and making it out of necessity rather than desire. Fans can assume that necessity has something to do with Pa Bartowskis laptop of secrets, which Ellie has found herself engrossed with since she got her hands on it. But McPartlin eased any fears a bit, saying that the audience will be relieved and happy to see what comes of it. But not before Awesome and Ellie get to have a little fun.
I think the audience still likes to relate to people who are thrown in there, who have no business being there. Otherwise, you jut have Alias. Where does it go? Whereas when we get in there, everything is haphazard, he says, laughing.

Hmm, I was under the impression that we wouldn't have a new episode until next week. Today just got so much better!Cornballer said:Chuck Day!
Chuck versus the Family Volkoff
Chuck tries to prove Vivian Volkoff's innocence after the CIA orders her assassination; Ellie thinks her search into her father's past is being interfered with.
They've switched the schedule a few times, but it's on tonight.RevoDS said:Hmm, I was under the impression that we wouldn't have a new episode until next week. Today just got so much better!

Thinking of Tangled, it had Ron Perlman.Nightz said:Chuck day! After watching Tangled for the first time yesterday, I missed Chuck even more.

For the record, here's the current schedule for the rest of the season. The OP was updated, too:
April 11th - 4.20
April 18th - 4.21
April 25th - Re-run of Chuck Versus The Honeymooners
May 2nd - 4.22
May 9th - 4.23
May 16th - 4.24 (Season Finale)
If there are any changes, I'll let you know.
Just as a change of pace, it'd be fun to see Perlman in something a little lighter than SoA.PhoncipleBone said:Thinking of Tangled, it had Ron Perlman.
Chuck needs to get Ron Perlman to guest star ASAP! Probably won't happen because of Sons of Anarchy though.
I just checked and the NBC upfront when they'll probably announce the decision is the morning of May 16th.Hopefully the change isn't "May 16th-4.24 (Series Finale)"
