A Murder charge at least tells everyone that it was wrong and the cop will go on trial for murder.

I don't know if a murder chance will change much.
Ok, you addressed the problem of police killing un-armed people and not being held accountable. Until they can fix this 'killing un-armed people' thing, there is still a huge reason to protest.

Sure, but they've been particularly shitty to minorities in the US. Enough so that there is unabashedly a problem with ethnicity here.

I think you have this backwards, they are representing the family of the person killed. The worse the video it is the better it is for their cause.

They'll say "the system works" b/c he's going to be charged with murder, when what needs to be done (according to the accounts so far) is a conviction.

Maybe I'm reading too much into his reaction/body language, but maybe this cop has a history? He wouldn't answer the question and that's the point he went in on the university PD.

If there is nothing to worry about then why don't they release the video? The refusal make it even more suspicious.

EDIT: So they are releasing the video afterall, not gonna watch it though, I can't stand seeing people dying.
