Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Launches on Steam with 145k Concurrent Players and 'Very Positive' Reviews (92% Positive)

I don't know how much he knows about cars but he's also a huge Elon Musk and Tesla hater so his opinion is completely invalid

I have nothing against Elon Musk, Tesla or Electric cars in general.
The analogy was just bad or do you think it was a good analogy?

I get what he is trying to say, but but using the Roadster vs Chiron not the way.
If you are gonna talk about small companies coming in and disrupting an industry of established big players.
You could easily have used like Netflix or Uber.

<---Not American hasnt lived in America since Obama 1, so if you assume i have some political agenda because I dont think the Roadster vs Chiron is a good analogy, I dont.

Currently seventh on Steam overall.

what the fuck is bongo cat? nevermind....I don't want to know
It's a desktop companion. They've become very popular lately, must be a zoomer ADHD thing because no way I'd be able to focus on anything with the bongo cat banging on the taskbar.

I saw a chart on era showing this game is now outselling Oblivion in every major territory on PSN.

Mad predication time. This game will eventually outsell FFRemake, Rebirth, 16 and eventually OG FFVII. Yes that means it will eventually get over 15 million units!

Oblivion will still peak higher today. Exp33 randomly spiked bigly and peaked higher than Oblivion on Thursday due to ???, but that's the only day so far. Looks like it should happen more soon though.

I've still never played KOTOR. I'm not going to play it today, either, but I do want to actually play that sometime soon.

It was holidays on most Europe and i did read it was too in China, the two best regions for Expedition 33

Tried playing this game. Hated the combat and menu system. Dropped after a couple hours. Felt like a PS3 game with better graphics, and I mean that in the worse way possible.

Fair enough. I apologize for mistaking you for one of the large number of haters here, I definitely didn't mean to go after innocent people

I actually don't often find car analogies to be useful for a lot of things but I'm someone who has used them when talking about the cost of hobbies because cars tend to be pretty expensive hobbies compared to gaming lol

Amazing. I'm near the end and game is almost 10/10 overall score from me, I haven't played something this good in years.

I honestly haven't been this much into a non FromSoft game in well over a decade.
While I love games, I'm usually the type of person who after a couple of hours of playing a game starts feeling like "that was fun but I've had my fill for the day, time to go do something else with my time"
For the past week though the only thing I've wanted to do with most of my free time is playing Expedition 33.

Same. With the exception of FromSoftware games, this is the only game in years that has now interjected itself in my daily thoughts. Like "time to finish up work so I can get back to Expedition 33."

(I'm older, so this is saying something)

I'll agree that the UI out of combat isn't great.

But story, art, music, and vibes are all S-tier in my book

I'm glad I have 5 free days from work, I'm playing like 10+ hours/day like in high school, lol. I'm glad my fiance is not against gaming...

I can finish game at any point but side content is great (and adds to the main story as well unlike many other games...).

The dude is just a Ubisoft fanboy and is pissed that the game, from former Ubisoft devs who escaped that creatively stagnant company, has been better received by the gaming community and gamers than his beloved AC franchise.

Imagine being that kind of person…

Physical copies of the game have nearly sold out in my vicinity at a large retailer. A competing retailer displays to have been completely sold out with the earliest restock arrival expected to be by the end of the month. .

I personally like to refer to these type of people as 'Ubivangelists' due to their cultish mentality.

This game is fucking amazing. Please keep peaking.

Amazing what some Ubisoft devs can do when not tethered to Ubisoft.

Realistically, what's left to challenge it? Yotei maybe?
Kojima could potentially pull some wild stuff with Death Stranding if he builds enough on the first ones systems.

Also, Kingdom Come 2 which seems to have been forgotten is for sure in the running.

Calling something Game of the Year when the year isn't even halfway over says more about the person than the game itself, it's just exaggerated hype imo
Dajin44 plays a lot of RPGs. If he is impressed, then it means something.

As for hype, and being hyper technical about what is it isn't his GotY (like that distinction even matters anyway), is jut being pedantic, silly, and missing the point.

Kick ass AA games, that are passion projects don't come around often. This is the future lots of gamers want. Not GaaS fortnight crap.

So, stfu.

Oh god. Not the Dajin44 authority police! Quick, someone call the RPG council! A man who plays video games is impressed! Stop the presses, we've found the chosen one!

Not every opinion needs to be worshipped like gospel, especially not in May

And that whole "if he is impressed it means something" line? That's some next-level bootlicking lol

What the fuck is your problem? It's just an acknowledgment that someone, who plays a lot of these types of games, likes it alot.

I like it alot as well. As do lots lots of other people.

Go fuck off.

I'm calling out nonsense when I see it. Don't join a public forum if you can't handle that.

Saying something's GoTY before June is premature at best, fanboy nonsense at worst. People can like a game without needing it to be crowned king halfway through the year. If Dajin44 said it sucked, would you throw the same tantrum defending their opinion? Thought so.

Just started this game on PS5 Pro.... man this is giving me old school PS1 Final Fantasy vibes in the best way. I've missed games like this.

I have a good feeling about my prediction now

I made it tongue in cheek but its for sure selling more lifetime. If it goes to game awards with a lot of nominations, it will also revive sales later this year.
Yeah it's a done deal by now. FFXVI is a failure and appealed to no specific audience. The game is so watered down and hollow I felt shame for the devs just playing it. It has absolutely nothing going for it other than some high spectacle boss fights that are mechanically still very shallow. Meanwhile Exp 33 is still top selling Steam game worldwide several weeks after launch and keeps breaking new concurrent player records by the day. I had to force myself to finish FF16 whereas I had to force myself to stop playing Exp 33 for breaks.
The reception are world's apart and a reminder for SE the audience they've lost over the years trying to please an audience that never cared for FF regardless.

Part way through Act 3 now and it's my favourite part of the game I think.

My build has been so broken since about half way through Act 2 that in most fights neither my team or the enemy team even gets a turn. Boss type enemies can still pose a challenge, as they survive long enough to get some turns.
