Remember when BYU had QBs that could throw accurate passes? My memory is hazy but I swear there was a time.

Any sort of passing game would be appreciated.

Saban needs to line our cornerbacks up against the wall and shoot one at random (not Belue) to put the fear of God into the others.

If we play like this, we're going to lose to Ole Miss and LSU.
He'll sacrifice a walk-on this week at practice, don't worry.

I was actually pretty impressed with the crowd in general, it's the loudest I've ever heard it on TV.
Probably the best crowd in the 3 years I've been coming. Oddly enough, all the empty seats may have helped. I think people felt like they had to pick up the slack and it maybe echoed a bit as well.

It looks deeper than that, frankly. I wasn't pleased at all.

But like I said, I'm happy with the bye week. This team seems to respond well to instruction, so that's a ray of hope.

The penalties HAVE to be cleaned up. Soon.

I don't think it's much deeper than that at all. We're not a threat to run the ball so our opponents can load up against the pass, and passing the ball we have two true freshman.

Still, we had another OL go down in this game, Texas State was coming off a bye week, we were playing backups on offense starting with the very first drive, and our third string QB played the majority of the game, and we still managed to rack up 550 yards of offense and win by 4 scores. If we don't throw those dreadful interceptions it's a blowout and those are simply the kind of interceptions you expect to be thrown by guys with as little experience as our current QBs have. Again, I don't think it's much deeper than the thin OL and a true freshman QB.

Beau Carpenter should be healthy for our next game, and Kansas has been the game rumored for Brewer's return since basically before the season even started, so if we get both of those guys back we're going to be coming out of the bye week much better than we went in. Carpenter alone is worth a lot.

Watching the Cougs roll the Vandals like this reminds me of the first game I went to as a freshman at WSU in 2001. I picked the perfect time to go there.

The entire day all I could think about was that episode of the Simpsons where the civil war reenactors try to attack the kids while out on a field trip.

Welp, because of your shitty hiring decisions we've been blown out the worst yet.

Thank God for the 1998 BCS Championship and Peyton Manning.

Maybe next year (probably not).

I almost want to correct you about 98 and Manning, but I assume you are talking about separate things.

98 was bullshit anyway. That was our year. Stupid Tee Martin.

Cougs going to keep that #1 pass defense. Love it!

I was at the ASU-Stanford game til the end. A little bit too much nail-biting at the end for my taste but Shaw has a tendency to get too conservative at times.

Something like 40% of the student section (and more than half the regular crowd) cleared out shortly halfway into the third quarter. Would've been awkward to lose it after that!

The best part of the game was in the 4th quarter when the ASU cheerleaders were waving huge A, S, and U flags to the ASU crowd on opposite end of field. The Stanford band and students began to chant "USA! USA! USA!" in response. Sometimes you can be too smart and clever for your own good but that was great strategy. After that outburst, ASU could not keep the rally going....they must've been so confused.
