ehhh, i'm so over WATXM
sick lineup this week:
Avengers 5
New Avengers 3
Green Arrow 17 (hopefully this is a good jumping on point)
Multiple Warheads: Alphabet to Infinity 4
Just ordered King City since it was on sale. Has anyone read it? Amazon reviews were all glowing.
I only read the first seven issues of WATXM, picked up issue 24 and was like, "Hmm, doesn't seem as if much has changed." That's a good thing - I liked the first seven issues and only stopped because of warnings about the whole AvX debacle.

Is that Ripster from Street Sharks?

This is the thing. This is the thing I need.
Doop + Allred = comics heaven.
Thoughts on Mind MGMT?
So as far as the Exiles go, what's a good starting point? Do I just jump in with the first trade and endure the 90's style or is there a preferred starting point? Same with Thunderbolts.
Exiles came out in 2001, and was concurrent with New X-Men and the Milligan/Allred version of X-Force. It doesn't read like a 90s comic.
Just start with Volume 1. Winick's run was good.
Thunderbolts was radically different before Warren Ellis' run. If you want the Suicide Squad take on the concept, start with that run. I think it started around issue 110. A lot of people like the original book (which started off as the Masters of Evil pretending to be heroes), but I have only read bits and pieces of it. That actually was a 90s book though. Marvel also turned the book into fight club with superpowers for awhile. I don't remember too many people praising that run.

That must have been a weird time to be an xmen fan. Where were you supposed to go for the traditional "90s" style xmen adventures?
I just jumped straight into it and was fine. The first trade starts with an issue of Fear Itself that basically explains everything.do i need to know/read anything before diving into winter soldier? that is one bad ass dr doom.

Wildly awesome fun. Big fan of it. Really enjoying his Prophet too, and I'll be grabbing Multiple Warheads when that hits trades too. King City made me a definite Brandon Graham fan.Just ordered King City since it was on sale. Has anyone read it? Amazon reviews were all glowing.
Old but I just noticed this. At the beginning of Tron Legacy Sam's room is filled with references to Disney's past and even Marvel's too:
Anyone get their Sullivans Sluggers yet?
So Marvel ended Rucka's great punisher run for this kind of shit?
SMH...
To be honest a relationship between Elektra and Punisher was set up back in Garth Ennis's run on Punisher back in the early 00s
Not even this ?Does anyone else really dig Noto's covers/pin-ups but find his interior work completely boring? Seriously, I don't think I've ever read any comic he's drawn and liked it because of the art.
I just want to see superman and Wonder Woman lose their virginity to one another
I want to see the broken room/bed/world after the sex they have unless its in the air lol.
Whats coming out for DC this week besides Young Romance?
This is the thing. This is the thing I need.
It's fucking awesome. After you finish that and love it you should check out Graham's Multiple Warheads(see this very same post for relevant info). #4 is the last issue in this mini so the trade should be out pretty soon.
Not even this ?
I discovered Brandon Graham last year (pretty much with the Multiple Warheads series and a bit of Prophet) and he's really cool. It reminds me of the kinds of comics I'd make as a 7 year old, full of cutaways and diagrams and weird little asides - I'm glad there's at least a bit of a market for it. Also his porny comics were badass.
What's King City like/about?
