Who draws the best faces in the business? Terry Moore needs to be up there. I am partial but I'd say Sejic is up there.

Terry Moore draws the best facial expressions and most attractive women. His faces are hit and miss due to most of them being based on a definitive set of people. He has "face rotation" for his characters.

Tony Moore though...lol...Rick and Heath are identical.

Any updates on the infamous Leinster Sniffer?

Executed. Sacrificed to the Banshees.

I haven't seen the issue with the writing. I could see someone not liking the direction or whatever: but from a technical writing standpoint nothing really stands out as bad. It flows together smoothly. It's also made an excellent use of panel space. The book feels pretty dense in both eye candy and words, but never to the point of a giant exposition word balloon.

Writing is more than just words flowing together. Its also about understanding the character your writing. Which Cameron Stewart doesn't, at all. IMHO writing a Babs Batgirl as if it was Stephanie Brown is bad writing.

Shin, plz. Let it ayy lma-go.

I had a chat with the boss and had it sorted. The covers will be left aside. He also said he was sorry that the man had gone through my stuff.

All sorted.

I would put Sejic's expressions in the elite group. He conveys such emotions in his expressions. The last two straps were heartbreaking and it's a large part because of his faces.

Absolutely agree. But I haven't read today's issue.

I'm totally on board for

. It's so dumb it's good.

Nice!

but I am taking tiny steps forward

Greatest thing ever.
It's probably going to be insanely expensive like that Aaron/Moore beer though. I wish I could buy these things locally.

That Noto Captain America variant is the bomb. So good.

Ok, so I did my Darwyn Cooke avatar. I think this turned out creepier than the Squirrel Girl one. I tried to get a halftone effect like the New Frontier cover but I'm not sure how great it turned out. You can't win them all.

It's super difficult to find art by Darwyn Cooke of men with their eyes open, just in case you were wondering.

Hahaha. That's amazing. Might be my favorite one yet, actually.

Yeah and I respect that. I even feel that way. But that's more an issue with direction than writing. Modern Nocenti is bad writing. Modern Nocenti gives no fucks about the grammatical requirements of modern English. If this were a new character or the first appearance of New 52 Babs it's actually very good. It's written well (to me) in that respect.
[/spoiler]

See I have to disagree. Grammar and flow is one aspect of good writing, and proper characterization is another. Even if this was the first appearance of New 52 Babs, it wouldn't work for me. If you break out her personality traits, her history, how she was raised, and who her father is, you're going to have a character that's going to react to things in a certain way. Writing that character, is a HUGE aspect of good writing. Writing a scene in Batman where Bruce is worried about money and paying bills wouldn't make any sense for the character. Just like having Barbara surprised that a cop doesn't like a vigilante is completely out of character for her.

Good writing isn't just the technical aspects of it, its also getting how a character reacts based on who they are right.

Cameron Stewart is just ignoring all of Barbara's character traits, that are a part of the character, to write a Stephanie Brown Batgirl. Which is what he's doing, and its fucking terrible.

Get him off the book. Give him a Spoiler 6 issue mini-series to make him happy, but stop having him ruin Barbara.

I'm so not on board.

Pizza Dog
I look at that and think, when are you gonna make a Greg Land avatar?

...why did you have to say that.

Time to go get some porn reference.

I approve!
Hahaha. That's amazing. Might be my favorite one yet, actually.
Thanks!
Where is Amanda Conner pizza dog? Or Noto face pizza dog
I will add these to the list. Noto's is going to be all pastel shades and effortless cool. Conner's is going to have Pizza Dog wrapped in a towel and giving a "Not again" look.
Where is Quitely Lex Luthor face Pizza Dog?
Can I do Quitely Lex Luthor as Catwoman Pizza Dog?

I still can't see parallel between Stewart's Babs to Steph tbh

Burrent Babs is very apparently acting like people in 20s (thinking about thesis, lashing off and such) and Steph is more hyperactive than that.

Clearly I am Andre the giant in this situation.

The problem is that Babs character is suddenly completely at odds with everything that has been established about the character. Even stuff from the same series. If they wanted to do this they needed to #1 it. But that wouldn't totally fix it either.

Both Babsgirl and Stephanie do dumb and reckless stuff. They both come across as hot headed adrenaline junkies.

Yeah I drove about 45 min to get that Aaron/Moore beer,, expensive but I think worth it.

The Hellboy Rogue beer is $6.75 for a pint size bottle.... so individually it seems cheap,, but that'd be a $40 six pack!! lol

Also the selfies..

Anyone know why Batgirl and Eternal are appearing as preorders when I try to buy them on Comixology.

So The Order is looking more and more like a $20 game as the days go by.

Since it's a Sony exclusive folks will say that we should all pay $60 for it just to support the studio... Damn fanboys!

It's like Marvel fans justifying that new $9.99 price point.

Hey I'm a Sony fanboy and I've been an avid decrier of TO1886 since that second gameplay demo of QTE. I'll play it at some point but man, what could've been..

I feel slightly better about buying it given the fact that I got it for $49

during Best Buy's E3 promotion last summer. If it's as short as people say I may try and plow through it quick and sell my copy.

-5 Hours (this part doesn't bug me)
-Unskippable cutscenes
-QTE's into Unskippable cutscenes
-1.5/2hrs actual gameplay
-No replayability at all

I'm planning on renting it for a day. It definitely seems like a game that I'll play once and never touch again.

This thread transformation to graveyard can wait till Bloodborne's release then.

Man, I'm a Souls guy too but I'm still gonna wait on BB. I liked the alpha okay, but something about the game just strikes me as... off. Slightly. Not sure, but I don't think I'm $60 confident in it yet.

General rule of thumb: Wait for all Sony games to be PS+. Wait for all downloadable games that come out on PS4 to be PS+.

Since making this rule I've never broken it and it's paid off time and again.

Looking at the impressions thread, it doesn't appear that bad. I saw one person claim a ten hour playthrough.

I tend to wait for later impressions before I play AAA games, though. And I don't even have a PS4 nor intend to buy one, so this game's success or failure wouldn't mean much to me.

So true. Did anyone here play Apotheon? I forgot it existed and keep forgetting to download it.

Are there any websites that let you buy your weekly comic releases and ship them to your house? My schedule changed and I don't really have time to go to the comic book store unless I really go out of my way. I could go digital, but I really like reading physical copies of comics.

Midtown Comics does day & date delivery of new releases.

they're bag and boarded and the best service out there.

Filthy Slug

Crowd screaming like hounds at the heat of the chase/ All the colors of the rainbow flood my face
On a technical there's nothing wrong with the writing, I've just found it to be boring and uninteresting. It's all style (the art) and no substance (the writing), kinda reminds me of the Buccelato/Manapul Flash run in that regard.

Yeah, it's that same super flat writing. Like, characters' dialogue just flows together in that it all sounds like one torrent of boring, "cool" drivel. Like, there's a grasp of "this is how you write a bunch of words to form a coherent sentence" but there's no grasp of "this is how you tell a good, character-filled story".

Basically, it's no Squirrel Girl.

I don't have any console atm but Persona 5 will force me :(

I actually get mine from eBay whenever I buy floppies rather than digital. Bagged and boarded, free delivery at the same price I'd get them at at store pretty much. One of the sellers even offers the option to pick them up at a chain of stores here. I'm in the UK so I don't know whether this is a viable option for you, but you could always check and see what the prices are like.
