Man, had a good birthday celebration with friends today, but my one friend ended up giving me like $30 to PS+, though I've ranted that it's not for me when prompted before. He definitely means well and he's definitely thinking something like "it's a totally awesome value so Boogiepop should totally be doing it and he'll be hooked" but it's completely useless to me thanks to my playing/purchasing style. Like, I had it for a bit back when that hack or whatever happened and they gave it out for free, and I got literally no use out of it whatsoever. And thanks to their craptastic policies I can't even be like "well I kind of wanted to get Rogue Legacy at some point so I can get that and hope it at least evens out" because I'd lose that by not staying subscribed to the thing.
So much as I'm a pansy and feel bad about rejecting gifts at all (I once felt bad as a child about failing to justify and needing to return a gift of a toy I never had), I'm thinking I'll have to just tell him and ask if we can figure out a return or something, since it's literally throwing away money with me. Ugh... I hate feeling this way about gifts since they're supposed to be nice things to make me happy, but situations like this just make me feel bad about myself
.
Edit: To not be entirely negative: I had a great time today outside of that gnawing at me a bit here and there, and the Green Lantern Omnibus arrived and is a monster!
