read up on Wonder Woman cause of that thread about biggest DC things in 2016.

WW at the end of #13 is pretty much how I feel, what the hell was real? what's fake? how many goddamn origins does she have? What's a Wonder Woman?

I don't even know why he's spending time on that seeing as DC will def reboot her again.

It would be really advisable for them to tone this down. Stories like Nova #2 and Unstoppable Wasp #1 would lose all their impact if they didn't reference strong ties to long term continuity.

DC just can't really do that anymore since it's not clear for a lot of characters what actually happened and what didn't. The many crises make it difficult to attach to anything for extended periods.

This wouldn't even be the first Wonder person they have overcomplicated by messing with her origins one too many times.

Man, I am super enjoying everything today.
LANA!
I didn't expect to see that character in Sam Wilson of all places. Batman was aces. And Champions feels like it's hitting its stride. Next iss should be amazing.
That wasn't the "real" Lana, right? It was a character sharing her name and codename since the real one is in Spider-Man.

Superman 14 was fantastic! It's a sequel to Multiversity!

Tomasi's Superman run has been perfection.

Edit: Holy shit:

The tune Clark is whistling in his truck is the same tune he used to defeat Darkseid in a Final Crisis. Tomasi is a genius!

Should I buy a Galaxy S7 or an IPhone 7 Plus?

You should wait until February and see what the S8 will be like.

If nothing else, it's announcement is likely to cause a firesale (lolz) on the S7.

That's what I'm doing (I have a Z3C that's also increasingly falling to bits).

This week I read Wayward. I forgot who recommended that to me, but thanks, because it's great.

I know I said I was going to read Wayward like a month ago but I've been watching films loads over Christmas instead. I finally watched Suicide Squad. Pretty convinced they have a footage to make a decent movie there, but it's not.

Yoooo!

Shade the Changing Girl

This may sound like a complaint but it's really not, I'm glad we are finally introduced to some kind of conflict in this issue. I wasn't desperate to really see one, but I think the psychedelic fish out of water story could have maybe gone stale after a while without something more. With that out of the way I really liked this issue. I wonder now more than ever what has actually happened with the consciousness of Megan. If Shade leaves the body now will Megan come back? I really like this book.

JL vs SS

Kind of a meh issue but it was needed to catch the characters up to where the readers already are.
At first I was assuming the item was Zod, but after reading the JL issue of Lord's background that seems unlikely.

Justice League Max Lord Special

This issue was kind of redundant but I ended up really liking it. It just gave us a little backstory on Lord, but it really didn't seem to give us any information we really needed an entire issue for. That being said I still really liked the interaction between Waller and Lord and it's also cool to see he's been working his way up for quite a while.

Superman

This may be the most development and actual substance in a single Rebirth issue to date. Seriously this was refreshing. The issue started and it just moved and it was great.

Nightwing

I'm glad I jumped back on this. I'm still not completely in on Seeley's dialogue and writing overall but I'm liking the last couple issues I've read. Plus it did have one great interaction in Dick trying to quip with one of the Run-Offs and them refusing to take part.

Green Arrow

I think Percy is losing me. It's not that I'm hating it, I'm just not enjoying it at all like I was the first arc. It almost feels like a chore to read.

Midnighter and Apollo

I think I'm liking this more than the last Midnighter book, and I really liked that book. I was left a bit confused by the Apollo bit though. I'm guessing
Neron lost but still took Apollo anyways? There was just a jump skip that left me really confused, like maybe Midnighter wasn't actually seeing the same Neron and Apollo if that was possible and he was just showing Midnighter some worse outcome and maybe Apollo is already released?

If you mean the S7 and not the S7 Edge (which has a screen the size of the iPhone 7+) then it will come down to these questions:
Which platform do you want: Android or iOS?
Do you need an SD card?
Is the bigger screen important to you?
How important is camera (where s7 has an advantage in low light situations)?

My wife has an iPhone 7+ and I have a S7 (which I got for free). Both of us are happy with what we have and neither of us would swap for the other, so either way you'll be good.

Here is a good comparison of the two:

Think everyone convinced me to pick up Nova and Moon Knight, even though I don't know anything about the new Nova and nothing about Moon Knight.

Gonna also buy Superman vol. 1 this weekend.

So is there a gaf consensus on Mother Panic?

I know it's a bit early to judge too much, but I really want to like it yet can't help but feel like it's missing something.

Moon Knight #10

I love this crazy ass book.

I feel like it can be best described as a Metroidvania comic book. Go around to new areas, collect parts, upgrade your abilities, then backtrack to fight the boss.

I still like it a lot but this latest issue felt like a retread, but I think this is one of those arcs that you're going to have to read altogether once it's complete. I like how it's mainly a character review of Marc, it's an interesting take.

I'm not sure quite what to think of it either, although we're only two issues in, so I guess that's to be expected. It has me intrigued to keep reading more, and seems like it could scratch a similar itch as Jessica Jones/Alias have (although to date much less effectively).

I have a couple issues with Mother Panic. This last issue had a lot of weird things that made it seem like an angsty teen was writing it. Stuff like the victaims benefit with them dressing as the victains and saying it's where art goes to die, and the drawing the faces in blood on the guys bathroom. It just came off weird and sort of forced. "This is cutting edge!" kind of feel to it.

If it delved more into the stuff where the guy wakes up with the mom and we got some kind of idea on what the little art bits are while she's fighting are I'd be a lot more interested. I'm still curious and going to give it some time, but so far I'm kind of iffy on it.

Hey,

Just thought I'd say hello, after lurking for a while (not in a dark alley kind of way) I thought I'd start posting this year. It helps my logins finally been confirmed after 2 months.

I've read comics for years since the old uk pannini essential xmen starting up but have got some good recommendations from you guys/gals recently (Giant Days, Squirrel Girl, 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank) so thanks. Managed to meet a lot of the writers/artists at Thought Bubble con near where I live recently and pick up some goodies too. I'll post a pic at some point if I remember. John Allison may be the nicest guy ever to meet at a con.

Yeah, I can see that comparison to Alias to some degree. It's probably one of the more interesting all-new concepts to come out of DC in awhile (for me anyway), but it's not quite as compelling as I would like, though I'm going to stick it out for the first arc at least.

This is a good breakdown that I didn't really think about. It seems like it's finding it's footing (again, only 2 issues as mentioned), but it doesn't have the confidence that it seems to be mimicking. I guess this year was kind of an embarrassment of riches with strong debuts though (The Vision, Black Panther, Sheriff of Babylon, Black Hammer, and many more), so my expectations are probably disproportionate.

Welcome, I see you've picked up the best ongoing comic already. Don't miss out on the OGN!

Thanks, hopefully I can post a bit during the days.

During the usual boring work day, comic gaf can be very helpful

Thanks, yeah apart from a few select series (4 kids, BMM, Black Panther, All Star Bats, event series) I tend to trade wait and am pretty far behind, but have the first couple of trades in Squirrel girl and will deffo pick up the OGN when i get to it. Managed to get the first volume signed by North and Henderson and get some cool squirrel girl stickers from them.

Well I like to think there's some kind of scientific study somewhere with constant breaks helping productivity and all that rubbish ha

just reupped on marvel u

what are the best runs of moon knight and nova to get me caught up to their #1s?

welp, im sure this marvel u sub wont go to waste

Definitely read Ellis and Shalvey's Moon Knight. Stand alone, but fun and essential.

Duggan's Nova run is brilliant, and the Loeb/McGuinness "launch" of Sam as Nova is tremendous.

Both should give a little context for the current runs.

DO NOT READ THE WICKED + THE DIVINE. FULL STOP. I emphatically regret reading this comic because it's all I'm going to be able to think about for weeks now. Issue 25 is a really terrible point to be left hanging too. Plus, since it started in 2014 and as of Jan 2017 there are 25 issues, I also know that there are breaks of a variety lengthy. I want to read 50 more issues that don't exist. I hate this.

This is literally my opinion exactly.

I'm so mad right now.
