My parents had a Laserdisc special edition of the original Star Wars trilogy that came with a book detailing the history of Lucasfilm. One time, I opened up that book and came across a few photos of the live-action Howard.
I haven't touched that book since.

Is this story any good? Theres a rumor that the Dr.Strange movie is based on it. I'm not familiar with Dr. Strange at all aside from his Avengers appearances so i'm kind of curious if I should check it out.

I think it's pretty fucked up how Marvel screwed over DnA. When Bendis' run had started and the Guardians movie hype was in full swing, you couldn't even find their run on Guardians and the Annihilation stuff. They really got a raw deal.
Now they're throwing Abnett this bone like "Oh here's this ancillary book no one will buy, work your magic!" while Bendis keeps a death grip on the main book as the story spins its wheels with nothing happening.

Well you have to understand that before the movie and relaunch, the Guardians and Cosmic Marvel weren't all that popular. Marvel did release the Annihilation Omnibus earlier in the year and the first volume of the Guardians Complete Collection came out around the same time as the movie. Would it be nice if their whole Cosmic saga was easier to purchase physically? Of course! But they're getting there. Annihilation Conquest will probably get an omni next.
And Guardians 3000 had a very promising first issue so I have high hopes for the rest of the series. I don't care how popular/unpopular it is as long as it's good. Abnett also wrote a Rocket Raccoon and Groot novel this year as well btw.

I don't know if Abnett ever really stopped. I know he's been doing He-Man and the Masters of the Universe for DC. I want to say he's done other things but I don't know off the top of my head.
Lanning did a backup for the Guardians 100th issue. Dunno if he's written anything else.
D'oh, I forgot the Marvel 100th Anniversary thing. Lanning wrote the Guardians issue for that!
Lanning just did Revolutionary War, trying to give UK Marvel new steam. I don't think it worked out particularly well, but he's still doing Marvel books.
I wonder what else some of these guys do to pay the bills... Lanning writing one or two stories a year ain't gonna keep his lights on. Maybe scripts, or something in a completely different field/industry?

So, mind settling a discussion for me, guys. Yesterday Constantine came up, and my friend was thinking of him as a highly powerful sorcerer who never met his proper potential usually because he focuses on the trickery (like, he was placing him above the Phantom Stranger which doesn't sound right to me), meanwhile I was saying he was a con man with limited actual power who gets by with wits. We've each read the same amount of stuff with him in it, though he's seen the show. Who's closer to correct here?
