Thor The Mighty Avenger Ult Collection
Dan The Gardenburgerable

maybe BN.com DC buy 2 get 1 free sale:

New Deadwardians
American Vampire vol 5
The Shade

maybe - Any opinions on these?

The Massive vol 1 - read the first issue and wasn't sold on it, later issues would have to be really good.
Captain America and Black Widow tpb by Bunn

sadly skipping out of it being a poor collection despite loving the format:

Absolute Blackest Night.

Locke and Key trilogy written y Kurtzman and Orci. Hahhahahhahhahaha

I saw this last week and didn't have the heart to make a thread. Damn do I hate those fucking hacks. What a total and complete downgrade from the talent involved in the TV show that didn't move forward.

If you haven't read it in singles you're gonna love The Shade.

i've never finished Starman either :O. I got through vol 1 and liked it, but never wanted to spend the money on the rest.....despite that i still want to read the shade.

Reading Batwoman #12 and #0. For #12, i'm surprised i didn't like it, the incorporation of Wonder Woman into the story, separately , was cheesy except for one two page set-up. #0, this book would be banned on gaf for having black letters in red text boxes, so hard on my eyes to even read this narrative heavy issue.

I never read any of it. Definitely not required but reading Shade definitely made me want to go back and check it out someday. Yet another big ass run on my never ending list of shit to read.

X-factor and X-force in the same week.

AND Manhatten Projects is back

OH BABY

also deadpool #1 looks like fun.

probably picking up the art of amanda connor too.

Don't they do Fringe?

They're co-creators. They were heavily involved in the first 10 episodes or so. It's no coincidence the show got good once they were booted down to consulting producers and J. H. Wyman and Jeff Pinkner took full control.

Everything they touch is shit. Transformers movies, Eagle Eye, Cowboys and Aliens, first half of Fringe: Season 1, Star Trek, etc. They are the worst.

What prior comics/stories/knowledge is required to read Uncanny X-Force? I know Fantomex is in it who was a charecter in Morrison's new X-Men? Also does it continue from the previous X-Force series?

It gets pretty deep into Age of Apocalypse shit and some of Fantomex's backstory but I didn't read any of the stuff it references and I made out just fine. Dude, just get that and READ READ READ.

Well my library actually has alot of the New X-Men and Age of Apocalypse stuff so maybe a quick read through those wouldnt hurt

Nothing, just know that Apocalypse is a real dick.

Start reading UXF immediately. A$AP.

(When I recommend X-Books, the only 3 I suggest are Morrison's NXM, Whedon's ASM then UXF in that order... but you'll be A OK if you just start at UXF.)

my buddy lent me the allerd x book in floppies a long time ago but i never read em... should get on that.

and i'm waiting for that long ass x factor run to end so i can read that.

If you get started now you might be caught up by the time it ends!

oh that makes sense then, that was when it started getting way better

Yeah, I've been meaning too actually. Was kinda waiting to see if his entire run was in one huge collection rather than grabbing tpb volumes.

Considering it ended like a week ago you're gonna have to wait a while.

Pretty much... Ah well, I might check my library to see if they have the first couple of volumes at least. If not, I'll probably buy the first 3 volumes.

Speaking of which, does anyone own the HC of Hickman's run that Amazon is selling? Specifically this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/078516152X/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1352187068&sr=8-3&pi=SL75

Just wondering what's in it.

That's smack dab in the middle of the run, don't start there.

This week's Action Comics will describe the location of Krypton.

I won’t keep you in suspense: the star is LHS 2520, a red dwarf in the southern constellation of Corvus (at the center of the picture here). It’s an M3.5 dwarf, meaning it has about a quarter of the Sun’s mass, a third its diameter, roughly half the Sun’s temperature, and a luminosity of a mere 1% of our Sun’s. It’s only 27 light years away – very close on the scale of the galaxy – but such a dim bulb you need a telescope to see it at all (for any astronomers out there, the coordinates are RA: 12h 10m 5.77s, Dec: -15° 4m 17.9 s).

I love The Massive, but if you boil it down, it's a comic about neo hippies. It's well written and has great art, so I recommend you give it another shot if the premise appeals to you.

It's so goddamned brilliant on a real ground level level. There's a sequence last issue about surviving getting chucked in a near bottomless trawl of water that actually made me claustrophobic. Can't even start talking about how boss this book is and how glad and lucky I am that I got the Rafael Grampa variants of the first three issues.

The new 52 turned me from a Marvel fanboy into a DC fanboy. Well, that and AvX. Really enjoying Swamp Thing, Animal Man and Batman. I even sort of like JL:Dark.

New 52 turned me off of DC completely. Primarily because I didn't enjoy having the rug pulled out from under me and tell me everything i knew is now wrong. Make up your mind, DC and then get back to me.

Yeah, if you were invested in the stories before, that would've sucked. Wonder how long before they reset everything.
