i'd say just start with Hickman, but i haven't read millar's or waid's. i just think it stands so strongly as an arc (and it is kinda sizeable) that i wouldn't want to get burnt out on the characters.

Now I can finally start reading Ollie again, Noccentis run was a mess.

Wait am I reading that correctly, vibe is getting an ongoing??.?.

YYYYEEEEESSSSSSS HE ISSSSS WITH PETE WOODS ON ART YYYYYYEEEESSSS HEEELLLLL FUCKKING YEEEEEESSSSS

i'll probably buy JLA #1 but probablyyyyyyyyyy not Vibe or Katanna. Maybe Green Arrow #17 for Lemire.

52 variant thing is interesting, especially since they are letting retailers buy whatever they want without restrictions. I'll get the standard cover :P

a Vibe solo book? These people couldn't even make a Justice League International or Blue Beetle work even though they both have nicely sized fanbases already. I see Geoff is still pushing his agenda at DC.

Can't wait for a new writer to take over and give Vibe the most brutal death possible

It's fucking Vibe brah wih PETE WOODS ON ART. Johns loves Blue Beetle too brah, I'm sad for his demise but that run was editorially ruined. Here is my Cyborg book though? I needit now!!!

They're saving that Cyborg book as the replacement for Vibe when it gets canceled. So, good news! -- you won't have to wait long.

And how many writers for Green Arrow does that make now?

Four if my math is correct, Krul, Giffen, Nocenti, and now Lemire. Also, I hope that Sorrentino joining him doesn't mean sad things for I, Vampire.

fuck Vibe this is just DC being retarded. Booster Gold, Blue Beetle (Ted Kord), Metamorpho, The Atom, etc. have way more marketability, bigger fan bases, and would be much better candidates for an ongoing series.

It's a cruel world where omac keeps getting pushed down the publics throat and vibe gets a book but JLI and its surrounding books keep getting sent to die.

All I'm saying is it's a shame Liefeld left DC.

My money would have been on three issues, and four more by Liefeld. :D

I sincerely hope this is a joke. The best thing DC has done with the New 52 so far is pissing off Liefeld enough to have him quit ruining corporate comic books. (The worst thing, of course, was giving him said books in the first place)

Come on brah!

Who else is going to ask Geoff Johns if anybody has done anything with Hawkman he should check out, and then go and regurgitate the Johns run with Ancient Aliens?!

Without Liefeld, the nu52 is just a little less EXTREEEEME.

Fortunately Gary Frank is still there giving classic characters shitty redesigns to keep it strictly 90's. :3

I used to be fairly ambivalent to Gary Frank, and then I realized almost all his characters have the exact same face

Ha!

I enjoy his work despite him being the Hack Bradshaw to Dale Keown back in the 90's, he went off in his own direction later in his career.

To be fair, a lot of popular artists only have a handful of character heads - Jim Lee, Duk Hyun Cho, David Finch, JrJr.

That's true, but for whatever reason it really stands out to me for Frank. Oh well, not everyone can be Ivan Reis.

I think Steve Dillion has about 6 heads he's been re-using for years, and I always try to spot them from Preacher. There's Jesse, there's Tulip, Punisher is clearly just the Saint of Killers, the Pope is the Kingpin, etc.

I understand why DC did what it did with Lemire and Green Arrow but at the same time it upsets me. I'm getting sick to death of their musical creators bullshit over there and it's making me want to read their books less and less. It has only been just over a year and some of these books will be on their third (maybe fourth!?) writer already!

If I were a Green Arrow fan I'd be stoked cause Lemire is one of the best guys they have going to a character that should have had a top class guy on him in the first damn place but I fucking hate that he's constantly being poached from books I like that don't sell as well or that DC deems not as important.

Vibe!?!

Bizarre, BUT I wonder if this is about having a solo book with a gay male lead-- the Lobdell who writes Teen Titans intimated that Bunker's boyfriend might be Vibe. I don't remember the exact wording but it was a kind of nod nod wink wink, something about vibrations.

Wow, Tony Moore can make almost anything better.

His Gun Spiderman re-design is really quite nice.

I swear, somebody at Mid Ohio Con overheard me asking, "If the character is supposed to be funny, why don't they get a comedian to write him?" a couple years back.

All of that is true and fairly ridiculous, except that Lemire isn't leaving anything this time around. At least Lemire is saying he's staying with Animal Man, Justice League Dark and now Green Arrow for "a long time".

Wouldn't the sensible thing for DC to do be to build up C-list characters in a heavily promoted series (JLA) before spinning them off into solo books? Well, that's DC editorial for you.

Hey, it's going to work for the movies like it works for the comics!

Who are we to judge the most powerful think tank at Warner Brothers?!

Hua hua hua!

I'm still salty they dropped the ball with the Green Lantern movie (although I did enjoy all the Corps and Oa fanservice) and refuse to establish any sort of film franchises outside of Batman. >:(

I could have sworn he said he was leaving JLD... They brought on a co-writer, didn't they also say Lemire was leaving it?

Also I assume Andrea Sorrentino is off I, Vampire now, a book that has had 13 FLAWLESS issues, and Sorrentino hasn't missed a single one.

Still if Lemire isn't off JLD then I guess I take back some of my distress, still that would put him on four books a month, which seems like too much workload.

LINK???

Oh wait, you're just calling Deadpool "Gun Spiderman"...

That's...pretty accurate actually.

Do not doubt Geoff Johns' power to make people believe certain characters and ideas are cool when they really aren't.

Fuck, JLD is the only current DC book that I enjoy on a consistent basis.

There was some confusion about it, but today and the last couple days, Lemire has been adamant in saying that he has long-term plans for staying with Justice League Dark. I assume his co-writer will be helping him with the load, but he's sticking around.
