Hm. I didn't expect to like New Avengers a lot. Uncanny Avengers is meh just like 20% of Remender's run. Gonna give it a few more issues to let it interest me.

ANAD Avengers is interesting for the cast alone. Only thing that's disappointing is that Sam had the perfect romantic interest in his book and I wonder what makes him go with Thor.

Hopefully Ewing can make Carol interesting in Ultimates.

Can't wait for Squadron Supreme.

and here I was hyped for NA and ended up not liking it as much as I thought I would. I'm def going to stick with it for while longer but I hope it picks up the pace soon.

Definitely excited for SS too.

I wasn't expecting to like the book as much as I thought because Power Man and White Tiger are the boringest characters ever.

"Why is the porn artist drawing this?"

"Oh great, they got HIM to draw Ultimates."

"His art is generic and 90s."

You can't keep a Puerto Rican artist down. I always believed Rocafort has huge talent. I can already spot the hypocrites excited for this book (Not here, just on twitter).

Finished Arkham Asylum. I wish I'd read it earlier it was that good. Loved Dave McKean's art - it really sold the creepy atmosphere. I've read a fair few Batman comics now and it still felt unique.

This is great too.

that TT #1 cover was loltastic. tubetop held up with magic.

rocafort is good tho. hes got 90s tendencies but theyre more like an evolution of 90s than a dated style.

I wish IST would hurry up with my order, lol. Well, it did actually ship yesterday night, but still. I want to start Gotham Central or Zero Year or something.

i wouldnt. i think mads style holds pretty well tbh

i dont think hes a phenom artist like many others but hes very good. at least from what ive seen. ive never bothered to read most of his work.

rocafort is a great artist to follow online btw. very imaginitive. i hope this title gives him more breathing room.

Gonna have to admit. After reading GotG #1 again.... it's not good.

The Bendis run or is there an issue of the ANAD one out?

I don't think Joe Mad is bad, either. Though his art doesn't appeal to me the way Rocafort's does. I think Joe Mad is pure 90's because of how exaggerated his anatomy tends to look. It's a style that pretty much dominated when I was a kid, and it doesn't really appeal to my current sense of aesthetics.

He went full Top Cow on that 1000% Top Cow looking Wonder Girl design.

Hopefully they won't hold that against him for too long. Rocafort drawing Galactus is just such a perfect match after seeing him draw Superman's New 52 armor.

Man, so within the first 40 or so issues of Fantastic Four they've introduced

The Skrull
The Kree
Silver Surfer
The Sentry
The Watcher
Galacticus
Dr. Doom

Mental.

It's just a shame Reed Richards never seems to get hurt enough for my liking, he's the most unlikable 'Hero' going so far.
I believe they introduce the Inhumans when they get to about 60 issues.
I'd read Tron comics. Anything to give dat Legacy soundtrack another spin.
I'd be pretty cool if Disney pushed some comics based in their film universes. Like a Disneyverse type deal. I mean, I know there are children's comics and an adaption of Frozen, but I'd like to see some series pushed. Better than the film sequels for sure. I'd be down with reading about certain characters' shenanigans. Like Mulan and Mushu.

Or maybe do some Gargoyles comics or something based on the old Disney afternoon shows. I know Disney had some comics back in the day, but now would be a cool time to do it.

Basically, push Disney properties in comics.
For comparison, would you call Joe Mad art a dated 90's style?

God no. If my waifu had an art style, it would be Joe Mad.

Plus I love Darksiders.

IDW is handling the classic Disney characters right now.

Honestly, they could just print nice collections (or put them on CMX) of the Boom era stuff and I would buy them. They already did a Muppets omnibus, I would really like Mark Waid's Incredibles run and their Darkwing Duck run in Complete Collection or OHC format.

Not good? The GotG Book? The one by Bendis?

The comic book writer, Brian Micheal Bendis?

You're saying Brian Micheal Bendis wrote a bad GotG book?

Bendis?

Maybe one day he'll get an editor. And maybe he'll actually fucking read a Cosmic book other than his own eventually.

Are any of the IDW books good right now? Or at all and at any point? I realized that Secret Identities was the last non-big two book I was reading, and I have a serious hard-on for some licensed/extended universe books that aren't Star Wars.

I do keep meaning to pick up Transformers.
I'm now giving that a try.

Based on your stack, I think you'd enjoy Batman. Dunno if you've read any of his stories, but he has a lot of good ones.

Hey man. I would say worse things about it but I'm currently under watch by those pesky Bendis Elite Guard. They'll spank me with a mace if I say something remotely insulting towards his Guardians book.

I do keep meaning to pick up Transformers.

I just finished binge reading through Robots in Disguise, More Than Meets The Eye and Windblade; the IDW Transformers comics are fantastic.

You have my sword.

I still really like Bendis' All-New X-men and Uncanny X-Men

THat's what I keep hearing, but I keep forgetting.
Ehhh he's aight.
Your loss

Transformers: More than Meets the Eye is the obvious one. Almost 50 issues and still as great as ever. You only "need" Last Stand of the Wreckers for backstory, the older books were....varied in quality and Last Stand is one of the best Transformers stories of all time. Robots in Disguise (now just called The Transformers to avoid confusion with the new cartoon) is not nearly as good, but is the "main" TF book i.e the one most of the toys tie-in to and has been better since Dark Cybertron.

IDW's Ghostbusters is really underrated, IMO. The Total Containment and Mass Hysteria hardcovers cover most of it. There's also a TMNT crossover and The Ghostbusters Get Real, which is primarily the IDW team meeting the cartoon team, but spins out into Crisis on Infinite Ghostbusters in short order.

Also, with IDW, have to recommend Dungeons & Dragons from a few years back. There are three trades, plus it was reprinted as D&D: Fell's Five in omnibus form. Really good fantasy comics, no D&D knowledge required.

Lots of people will vouch for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well, but I haven't kept up since CityFall. It was really good up to that point though.

Maybe I'll pick it up. I really like the artbooks that Dark Horse puts out. Very sturdy.

Yeah, it's got nice thick pages and a solid binding. Feels well put together.

Whats the content of that Batman Visual History?

This is actually DC Comics Visual History (although there's a batman one, too). Goes through every month of every year that DC has been around and showcases an issue put out. Occasional huge double page spreads and stuff. Pretty interesting.
