With the dev team dismantled, there is no way a game that needs developer upkeep is coming back.

If devs made multiplayer player self sustaining, they could just live on their own. This is why it was a total flop of an idea TLOU multiplayer as live service. Damn if they just remade the multiplayer from PS3 it would have just hit.

I find it amazing how on steam it could only get 697 peak players. If anyone skims Steamdb charts, even total noname games made by randoms with zero marketing can somehow even get 1,000.

It was like that during the Quake III era... they gave you the *.exe to make your own server and later on the source code.
