Yeah, there has to be something more to this story, unless the cops really just got bored of waiting for them to wake up and so shot them so they could go home.

Umm, even if the woman had a gun as claimed, if the officers were behind cover, why was there seemingly no attempt at de-escalation? Like, there have been countless instances of of armed citizens interacting with cops and not getting fucking shot up.

So were they sleeping or were they unconscious? It seems like the two keep getting used interchangeably when there's a pretty huge difference.
If they were trying to rouse the two and were unsuccessful like the story said then you'd think medics should've been called to the scene. What happened between trying to wake them unsuccessfully and shooting them?

Everyone always forgets that another truck was attacked that same morning in the same town. It was a white guy who was making a morning surf run. They rammed his truck off the road on sight and then started shooting through his driver-side window.
They routinely shout at and threaten corpses for extended periods so yes?
Wouldn't that mean they threatened the police officers and then fell asleep? Do they even think before they come out with these excuses or are are they just so untouchable they don't give a shit either way.

You never know around here...yeah, the police continue to pull this kinda fuckery because they know that nothing will happen (because the public unconditionally supports them for the most part) and if it does, it will likely result in the taxpayers picking up the bill.
This is the type of apathy the police are counting on.

O/U on zero consequences for the police? It's not just that they murdered two sleeping people for being black while sleeping. It's that they have a good chance of getting away with it. I feel like this is (another) litmus test. If we can't convict people for this, there really are no limits.

To be clear to any future law enforcement personnel reading this: you cannot have a "stand-off" with someone who is sleeping. There is a hint to this fact in the construction of the term.
