Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Duskbloods all run at 30 FPS on Switch 2

If duskblood is 30fps then i don't see how that's even playable considering it's an online game that you're supposed to play with other people. Can you imagine trying to fight difficult enemies and having to do precise dodges while playing at 30fps and while using nintendos online connection lol. Have fun with that.

Amen.

Cyberpunk looks AMAZING on Switch 2 and apparently that's not even the final build.

People asked for a better Switch. Nintendo gave you a better Switch, and yet some people still desperate to complain about something, anything.

The replies in these threads are always excellent when someone asks me to show them what retardation looks like.
Hold my beer while I ask my friend to push his Ferrari to 220km/h and laugh at how your Yaris can't keep up.
What i said to deservs an emphathy reaction tho? :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Once again, Nintendo fanboys need to keep their inhibitions in check. This disgusting cult, which is comparable to their now-dead Xbox system counterparts, needs to realize their console is a HANDHELD! Nintendo is going to factor in battery life. Combined with the Switch 2's much inferior hardware, they can count themselves lucky their system is getting third-party games - only with much more graphical downgrades, barely stable 30fps, and still a high price tag compared to discounts on the PS5.
Did From Software shoot itself in the foot by putting Elden Ring on Nintendo? Should they apologize or commit seppuku?

I expected a massive reliance on DLSS+Frame Gen to achieve 60 FPS. What a shit product. (And back to LCD lol……)
I would never play anything that is graphic heavy on a switch to begin with, i have some fucking standards in 2025 :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Absolutely! And Sony is no doubt watching, and they're probably arching their eyebrows in astonishment over Nintendo's equivalent to Microsoft's E3 2013.

Sony is grinning and going to turn tables. I can see them now announcing a permanent $50 price cut to their systems in the future.
huh? Sony is doing the opposite. They are going "let's see how these prices are accepted. if they do well, we're next". Hardware though? They will probably have some discounts specially as GTAVI is releasing later this year.

Between the price of the unit, the price of their games, the shitty launch lineup, the weak hardware, the terrible show, etc. It's like they're begging me not to buy their product.

Also, charging a $10 premium for physical games when Nintendo is perhaps the worst offender in the "whoops, your digital games are gone" department is insane.

That's a $30 dollar swing overnight. Suck it, Nintendo.

I think the price of the unit is fine.

But the price of the games is downright sinister.

Especially when considering the development costs of these games are a fraction of any current gen game.

As it stands right now.....Kirby and Mario Party are going to be more expensive than GTA VI.

That's insane.

You guys seem to forget one simple fact. These third party multiplatform titles (excluding Duskbloods since it's exclusive) are not for us enthusiasts! I would bet that the vast majority of us who owns the OG Switch also have one or more options to play these games either on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series. These ports are for the families who can't really afford or want to have multiple consoles in their entertainment space but want to try these games that weren't originally available on the OG Switch.

For them it's a plus because it now gives them the opportunity to play these games whereas for us were never going to play Elden Ring on a Nintendo hardware in the first place so why do we fucking care that it runs at 30fps or at a subpar resolution? It has always been about the exclusives. We can moan and shit all day about Duskbloods running at 30fps but if you really want to play this game then it's something you'll have to cope with otherwise you're not playing it.

People were told on here that DLSS would make the switch 2 an absolute beast and games would look and play absolutely amazing cause of nvidia. Now the argument has shifted towards '30fps and below 1080p is fine cause it's a handheld'. Lol.
Well, 30FPS/1080p is "fine"…for handheld mode. I expect(ed) better in console mode.

With VRR support, this is not a big deal. Everyone expecting 60FPS on a hand held without dropping most or all graphic settings to Low on most games , is dreaming , **maybe with the Z2 Extreme we might get 60FPS at Medium/High.

It's literally running FF7 Remake the same as a base PS4 and this is Nintendo's "next-gen" console, this will be their console for the *next 8 years*, let that sink in. Of course, nobody buys a Nintendo console for the 3rd party titles but we've still got to call a duck a duck and this is one ugly fucking duck.
This...

If it wasn't going to be around until 2033 running Base PS4 games from 2014

Then ok

Yeah, I'll agree that the unit price is by FAR the least egregious "offense" here. If we had a killer launch lineup and better priced games, I wouldn't bat an eye at $450.

I'm sorry but playing games at below 1080p at 30fps is literally unplayable on a big screen 4k tv. It's like having vaseline over ur eyes. It's 2025 and standards should be higher for a 450 dollar console that wants to charge 70 to 90 dollars for games.
You're not sorry.

Oh... So that's why is exclusive and they didn't announce Nightreign for the Switch 2.

Agreed. If only we didn't have tech that allowed for 2x, 3x, 4x the frame rate that would have situated itself nicely with a handheld device:

Lossless scaling cost $10 on Steam, a bargain in comparison to the cost of "Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour"

I really hate this version of Nintendo. Weak…..weak ass BS this console is. I don't care about it being mobile; that's what my Android/iPhone is for. That is not what I want out of a video game console.

I can't believe we're arguing over an article made based on a DF coverage of the direct, rather than using actual people testing the games

So why are you here? Bitching and moaning isn't going to change Nintendo's direction, which 150 million people seem to think is pretty sweet.

Ok. Not interested in switch 2 at all anymore.
I just watched the treehouse stuff (the chat was nothing but "drop the price"). Mariokart, dk, metroid. The textures are very basic. This is first party nintendo stuff, which has been in the works for a long time. I don't think the system is capable of much more than that.

Lower the price to 350...asap.

Nintendo never made wild promises about Switch 2 being a beast because of Nvidia and DLSS. Hell they didn't even mention DLSS during the reveal.
Are we now shitting on products and companies because they don't deliver on the unrealistic speculations from fanboys and armchair forum "tech experts"?

For a $450 handheld the reported performance seems fine. People here are acting as if the market was flooded with sub $450 handhelds that let you play Cyberpunk, Elden Ring and VII Remake at 1440p 60fps.

Nah, i m not a hater, i like Nintendo games, i ' m just not an idiot and it wasn't me who advertise yesterday 4k@120fps for a underpowered "console".
LOL nobody got that advertised, it's max 4K@60fps, just like the 8K in the PS5 box, depends on each game... Metroid Prime 4 reaches that, for example.

Also, are these official numbers at all? Or are these "educated guesses based on Nintendo Direct footage"? Because if it's the later, it's a nothing burger.

To think they could have spent some money making a PS5 Pro patch for those games, they chose to spend even more money making shittier versions at 30 FPS.

It's a $450 handheld.
Were people expecting it to run current gen games at 60fps?
Cyberpunk and Elden Ring don't even run at locked 60fps on the PS5/SX (well Elden Ring does...if you run the PS4 version on Ps5)
The problem is that most likely these images are not of the console in portable mode but of the docked console, in the same way as Tony Hawk's Pro because it is in docked mode the version of Cyberpunk on Switch should be showing us the performance of the game in docked mode

Yeah that's the best I've seen the game look on a handheld device. Even on ROG Ally it looks rough despite being able to run at similar resolutions. DLSS must be doing its magic here.

Just because it's docked doesn't mean it's not a handheld.

30 fps souls game? For 80 dollars? Okay, I'm out. I'll just get a next gen handheld.

You can't be charging that much and still be underpowered as hell. If I'mma spend 500 on the system...I might as well add a couple hundred and get the quality I'm looking for.
