Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Duskbloods all run at 30 FPS on Switch 2

I don't get it...why the surprise? Switch 2 was always going to have a hardware similar to the PS4 /PS4 Pro gen. This was to be expected.
Even though the CPU seems better, the GPU barely seems better than the PS4 in docked mode, in portable mode it will be below the One S

This is how it started.

"lol it won't even reach PS4 level, not with Samsung 8nm"

How it is now

"Lol told you it wouldn't reach PS5 level, Nintendo fanboys never learn"

Not sure what you're even trying to say here.

Is it reaching PS4 levels? In some respects yes, in others no.

Such as?

But yes, it has some very clear advantages, for example in data transfer speeds. In pure GPU power it's below the PS4.

Well Outlaws, Split Fiction and Phantom Liberty, from what we've seen so far.

I don't know if they can run on the PS4 or not, but they don't so far

Yeah, because the PS4 is a dead console. Cross-gen is pretty much over.

But yeah, data transfer speed might be a limiting factor for one or several of those. Processing power is not.

This hardware will very quickly return to the correct path, and this is to be used for Switch-only releases (which will be heavily optimized for a single platform) and indies.

You don't want the PS4 version of Cyberpunk. Lol.
I bought and played the game at launch (before the whole "everyone can get a refund! we just didn't tell Sony" debacle) on a Pro. Usually it crashed like every 30 minutes or so. Sometimes more often. That, and all the other bugs.

switch2 540p vs series s 800p

540p is getting dangerously close to gamecube resolutions, which is ridiculous... but its also a handheld
and a penny-pinching nintendo handheld, at that

Better than the deck in handheld even, because it won't chug the battery in an hour.

Is it? Quick searching show posts claiming 2-3 hours when lowering FPS to 30 on the Deck.

Steam OS gives you the ability to set your battery life you want yourself, instead of it being determined automatically by the game.

Deck has a 40 or 50Wh battery, Switch 2 is a 20Wh battery. If you set the TDP on the Deck to ~10W, it will always give better battery life than the Switch 2, by at least double.

I only buy Nintendo consoles for 1st party games and retro style games. I will support some JRPGs too, but otherwise I'll play the rest on my PS5 Pro. This is how I've viewed Nintendo since the Wii era. The reality is that Nintendo is mostly about making accessible, fun games. My life is full of responsibilities and competing hobbies. I prefer to play games that I can easily pick up and drop in bite sized chunks. They do the best job of providing me those type of games consistently.

Lmao, who fucking plays these AAA games on a Nintendo console ? That's the worse version you could ever get.

Did ANYONE expected otherwise?

but 4k@120

Yeah….. I doubt we will see many games achieve that. Maybe some 2D Mario games or top -down views Zelda games.

I'd imagine most 3P AAA games will be 30FPS.

the newMetroid prime looked good though. Mario kart is always pretty, but these games are a case of art style over technical feats. Which always works well for Nintendo hardware given all its limits.

Agree. That's why I don't think people should fuss much about the specs. Personally I'm buying one for its exclusives. Not expecting tot to even match my old Xbox one X. But all the same the games that are made for it will look good given it's limitations. Honestly wish more 3P devs took that approach to Xbox/PS5….. maybe if they did we wouldn't have so many sub 4K games that have to rely on AI up scaling and only ends up bringing other issues into the image quality overall.

Cyberpunk looks AMAZING on Switch 2 and apparently that's not even the final build.

People asked for a better Switch. Nintendo gave you a better Switch, and yet some people still desperate to complain about something, anything.

Remember when people thought the Steam Deck and PS4 would be more powerful?

-The specs are fine for what it is. It looks like a great handheld.

-The price points are not fine.
Console wise is a little over what I would be willing to fork out for somthing I cannot mod or customize.
The price for the games are over the top for what quality you can get out of them.
The subscription service for voice chat is laughable as their are plenty of free alternatives.
The camera add on looks terrible. Looked like it was streaming in sub 20fps.
The fact the controller has a dedicated botton for this is the biggest insult to me.

Probably lazy ports. FFVII specially makes no sense since it runs at 1080 that's what the PS4 version runs at. And this thing is supposed to be like a PS4 Pro, right? RIGHT?

Considering this is docked performance it's definitely less than I expected.

Do we have any clarity on whether or not the switch 2 is less or more powerful than the Deck OLED yet?

Why are people upset about it?
The Switch 2 is comparable to a PS4 Pro.
Of course it's not going to produce amazing performance for graphically intense games.

From direct comparisons (like Hogwarts Legacy), more powerful than the Deck.

And we've seen nothing yet I believe.
