Since I have a 1080Ti, and have to make the game ugly and blurry to be able to run it at 60fps at 1440p, I decided to max it out and play at 30fps instead, no ragrets.

Did you try the CAS upscaler + Nvidia sharpening on the control panel? As long as you don't set the minimum below 75% it looks really good. I set sharpener to .35. Able to get medium at 60FPS on a 1080 non ti.

Can't argue with the results oyu got, but man I can't do 30 FPS. I tried, but nah, specially not with a mouse an dkeyboard. Maybe with agamepad, but I find the shooting with a gamepad intolerable.

There are a lot, A LOT, of legitimate issues with the game, anyone trying to hand wave those issues away needs to have a word with themselves.

It's not a bad game, but in terms of actual gameplay, apart from BD's, it doesn't actually do anything particularly special, or new.

Anyone else' HDR not able to he chosen? (PC) I'm playing on a KS8000 which is defo HDR compatible.

The option for it is grayed out/not able to be chosen 🙃
Is HDR turned on in your windows setting? Also I could not get it to take my hdr signal because I was using a display port cable. Switched to hdmi, fixed All my issues.

Read my comment to the user above and if you don't believe me go look at youtube and search 20 series builds with this game and see them having to settle for low at 20 fps or less. Yeah, the 2080 will run it at medium but got less than that it's a gamble.

I am incredibly skeptical about those tubers on YT claiming to struggle with low FPS on a 20X card and modern CPUs.

I have tested this game on a Sandy Bridge 2011 CPU with a RX 580 and I could run fine on medium-low.

Hell, I tested this game ON LINUX with Proton, on a Ryzen 5 3600 + GTX 1070 and got 30 FPS on Medium. The game ran with a lot of the audio missing and I had to skip the launcher but it was playable.

Fucking hell - tbh running on Linux like that is a surprise. I know Wine was always pretty awesome for getting Win95/98/2k era games working that simply wouldn't work on modern windows but clearly they've made some good progress if that's the case (Proton being built on Wine's work).

30 fps is fine with a gamepad,
not ok with M&K

Can anyone tell me what the default HDR settings on the xbox are? I think it was like 500 - ? - 2.0 but I can't remember what the default paper white setting is. Thanks in advance.

Game is a big mess. Three crashes in less than 3 hours of gameplay, from doing random things. I hope CD Projekt RED gets FLOODED with error reports, because damn it's ugly. I'm not feeling the gameplay yet either, though I'm still in the prologue. I'm disappointed the life path is basically window dressing and serves almost no purpose.

I'm really loving pistols and shotguns, good combo.
Yes I am doing mostly pistols/shotguns as well. I flanked someone and jumped down off a rooftop behind someone and blew their head off and it was very satisfying. I am going to invest in moving/jumping quickly like that and aiming while jumping/slowdown stats.

I think one thing they need to do is make selling/dismantling easier to do and understand. Doing that is pretty confusing.

Proton has advanced by leaps and bounds. It’s really impressive stuff.

Only gfx downside is that it can’t run DLSS or ray tracing.

Sniper rifle is my weapon of choice. Headshots with mouse are way too easy and too powerful. I'm playing on very hard to compensate.
Speaking of very hard, has it been confirmed there are difficulty trophies/achievements?

edit: did some google searching and apparently there is none.

Any tips for gamepad settings?

I tried, and I enjoyed it for walking around/driving a lot. Rumble is great on the new xbox controller. But man, I cna't hit the broad side of a barn with ANYTHING. I'm all over the place. Meanwhile with mouse and keyboard and I'm ripping dudes apart.

I guess I'll just have to switch. the game is good about making the switch immediate, so just grab the mouse and keybaord when about to go into combat and stick to gamepad for the rest. Only downside is that I forget what jey does what sometimes so I'm scrambling sometimes after trying to hack, but lobbing a grenade instead :)

I'm a little confused I'm still early game but is there a place to repair my car or but a new one for cheap? Stuff happened and I'd like to know

They're getting desperate now. Every game has pre-orders now. That's just how shit works. Every big game then comes out with some bugs that get fixed over time. I don't particularly like either, but to suggest that CDPR are doing something other publishers aren't is disingenuous. There does definitely seem to be a co-ordinated hit being put out by the media which shouldn't be a surprise as they're all mates on Twitter and post on Resetera.

Not to mention who the hell is forcing you to buy it day one. It's 2020 ffs, we have this thing called the internet where launch day will provide you with more than enough impressions and video to judge for yourself. Buy it the day after launch.

yup, look at all these console owners throwing a shit fit. sure it sucks the game is a mess on consoles but CDPR didn't force you to preorder. you done that out of your own stupidity.

Guys, come on, a game should be serviceable in whatever platform it is released.

It is clear the game needed further polish on consoles - CDP stock is taking a beating over it - but on PC it’s been perfectly fine and less buggy than your average Bethesda release.

You should have a side job to retrieve your car if not then try continuing the story and it’ll appear, also just steal cars.

I’m happy with it on my X1X. The game is phenomenal considering the bugs and occasional framerate issues. The most glaring thing I’ve had so far have been about 6 crashes to the Home Screen in 14 hours of play. No hard crashes thankfully so far.

I’m also on a 1080p tv still which sounds like a bonus possibly with this one. I’m hoping for a performance mode on the 1X since I don’t care so much about the resolution myself. Not sure if that’ll come or not though.

Just recently hit a problem, where for the past hour no matter where I go, things take a very long time to render. I exited out and giving the game a break, hopefully when I play later it'll stop happening. If it doesn't, that's pretty much gamebreaking for me.

Finished corpo prologue. Loved all the details/info you learn completely organically as you play the game, no one really does worldbuilding better. Crazy variety of npc models. There is some "jank", here and there, with animations/lip sync, but that is unavoidable in First Person ( which makes all this far more noticeable) and game of this scale. Finished Mankind Divided recently, and this still feels at least generation ahead ( despite being hundred times bigger).
Gunplay is also a lot better, than similar games ( Fallout, Bioshock, Deus Ex, etc): "crunchy" bullet sounds, more snappy/responsive aim ( I'm on pc/M+K), better animations, better sounds, hit impact: this is a very good B shooter ( Far Cry, Borderlands, etc).
One thing they could improve is takedown animations: there is no strong sense of force, applying chokehold on enemies ( like in say, Dishonored).

Thing is, look back at GTA V and how that performed on the base consoles at launch vs how it performed on the next gen a month later. It was THIS bad. Drops to below 20 FPS, lots of bugs.

But no one gave anything but praise to Rockstar.

CD Project red commited the biggest faux paus you cna commit in the eyes of the mainstream gaming media. First, there was a Pc version of this big AAA game (GTA V would be console exclusive for another year), and second, it played WAY better there.

You can watch IGN's coverage of this and the journalists are mad as hell. And it's not cause it runs like shit, it's because it doesn't run like shit on PC too.

They are coming from the high of new next gen consoles, and they HATE PC gaming getting any of the spotlight.

At least that's my tin-foil hat conspiracy theory for why the backlash has been so drastically off kilter compared to somehting like the release of GTA V.

It could also be that outlets like Digital Foundry have informed console gamers a bit? Or the mid gen pro consoles have gotten at least the more vocal hardcore to care more about performance in games? I don't know. But I do see the coverage and it's emphasis on : "but but, PC!!" and I wonder.

I mean, it makes sense, given that the average gaming PC is more powerful than a pro console, with a much better CPU, that these base consoles would struggle hard.

Personally I think CD Project Red should have just focused on PC and next gen consoles, and taken 6 months after that to release a lst gen version. We probably would have had a much better release on both consoles and PC. Sure, a lot of console gamers would have had to wait to play, but really, they are probably going to wait now anyway for more patches to roll in.

I love this game. Playing via geforce now. One thing most reviews seem way off on is playtime. There are so many side missions and side jobs that shouldn't be missed. I spent the whole day just playing side missions and i've only just got to the end of act 1.

There's some random cop missions that are quite dark, one i had to threaten a couple of peados who were watching a BD of kids getting murdered. I didnt need to kill them but i shot them in the balls

i don't understand people who just speed through the main quest. people saying they "beat" Witcher 3 in 40-50 hours missed so much stuff that makes the game great. it took me ~110 hours so they've missed more than half of the content. it would be a crime to focus only on the main quest for cyberpunk. there is a shit load to do. it's not just about the main quest.

Well I think it's best to go through the story until you meet Jonny Silverhands from my experience. I tried going around the city before that and it just felt like I was getting blocked. Honestly I haven't gone back to the main story once everything sort of opened up, and it fucking rules.

And yeah the fact that reviewers had to main line the story makes me care less and less about reviews. The best stealth mission I played so far was a gig of just stealing a car from a warehouse.

That's just bullshit. With an OCed 1080 and 2600k@ 4.5 I get 30-50FPS on the default High setting. With tweaking, 85% resolution scaling and sharpening I get 45-60 FPS.

With default low and no resolution scaling I get 50-70fps, there's no way a 2080 is getting less than 20fps on low.

current gen PS5 is a pretty good experience i would say. i've seen a few animation glitches but again compared to Fallout 4 and Skyrim and Assassin's Creed and a bunch of other well reviewed games, it isn't nearly as bad. this is what often happens on release of a game. this is why patching exists. visually it's blurrier than i like but performance has been great with a very few drops and this has not even been optimized for the console yet. you have seen what they accomplished with Miles Morales, introducing ray tracing to 60fps. i still think on PS5 this game will end up looking amazing. basically we will see our PS4 game transform into a PS5 game as we continue playing. for free. that's cool.

but the game itself, disregarding the technical issues, is incredible. the world design is off the charts, the writing, the combat, the flow. Fallout 4 is more of a bad shooter pretending to be an RPG. this is a real RPG, with shooter elements, as well as stealth and well done fps melee.

as for the pacing, i love it. so much time is spent drinking in the world and experiencing characters and story. it makes me think of when Bioshock Infinite came out and everyone was saying "I wish there was a game just exploring the world without shooting". well a whole lot of this game is just that; walking, driving, talking, hacking, etc. rather than tell a story through pre rendered cutscenes we are taken on a first person journey, we experience all of that stuff first hand. when Jackie was driving me through the city at night, we stopped at a flaming car wreck, with some cyberpsychos causing havoc and shooting at a floating NCP transport unit. it landed and the enhanced security crew coldly and quickly put down the anarchists right in front of our car. Then they menacingly turned to us and waved us along. The whole sequence was thrilling in first person, and would not have had nearly the impact if it were a standard cutscene.

I dare say the choice to go with first person was BOLD and that it was an artistic decision that really holds up and enhances the storytelling

This was more of a scripted thing and I did a side job but the money I got from it wasn't enough to buy a new car, also how do I steal cars?

Ryzen 5 3600 + RX 5700 XT here. The games runs so smooth for me.Above 60fps plus Freesync.Only encountered small bugs like the floating people in the Nomad beginning.

The UI is just so bad.Maybe i just need to get used to it i don't know.I have no idea what i am doing sometimes lol.Are there any must have perks especially for stealth gameplay?

I am looting stuff and i don't know what the hell they are.Probably the uselss junk.

So far so good

i haven't met him yet. i just done my first BD and met Judy :messenger_heart:. i guess i'll push on with the main story until I met Keanu. i feel too weak/inexperienced for a lot of stuff. my guns are doing little damage, can't win the kabuki fight, and lots of options are blocked because of low skill points.

This. Playing with a 2060S, RTX on, all ultra, on 1080p. RTX is a 'luxury' graphical setting anyways and people shouldn't expect to play 4k 60 with it on.

Now we talking. Prologue done. Now real game starts and i will play it how i want it.. and more interesting story started too.
Just gotta fix me those fps to 30 , lots settings so not easy byt find most fps droping city place and start to change settings and see whats doing what. Poor gpu allways 99% busy , cpu cores not so much yet. Plenty ram left too vram as well it not uses lots of that at least at 1080p

Yes I highly recommend going through story until that point... honestly incredible experience after the main Cyberpunk 2077 title card drops. but don't rush it.
