Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
After you've finished the main story, can you come back and mop up the side stuff / collectibles etc.?

Thanks, just got the warnings on the screen that it'll lock you out of certain areas and wondered if it was for good.

You guys are really making it hard to wait for a sale! Lol.

On one side I don't like repetitive games (I don't buy Far cry and Assassins Creed every entry etc) but I did love Mafia 3 thst had similar repetitive claims made against it.

This or Sekiro first hmmmm :)

I seriously hate this game. I can't believe this game was even made. The controls suck both gun and melee and the bike. The fact you cannot heal yourself when you sleep. The whole resources stuff with gas is a joke. But realism right?! WHO CARES. It is a video game, not real life. Get over yourselves developers. Yet, enemies respawn when you sleep. Absurd game. The first Sony produced PS4 I'm happy to trade in.

Funny, I wanted even more survival, much less resources, gas is easy to come by.... I only ran out gas once and it was fun as heck trying to push the bike back.

I can't tell if this is a joke post...

Most of your hatred for the game seems just based on personal preference, which is fine, but the controls don't suck. And enemies respawning during a day/night cycle is a complaint...? What game doesn't do that?

On another note, I'm in horde hunt mode. I love how you do eventually become this slaughter machine, able to take out hordes left and right.

The controls sucking is not personal preference. It is fact. For them making such a big deal about the bike, they did a terrible job with how it feels and controls. But to be fair, no dev seems to make bikes control well.

I have more problems with the game too. The terrible loading screen times. The uninspired enemies. The generic world. There is nothing special here or fresh. Seriously, I cannot believe Sony put their name on this. Anyway, I don't want to go on too much. Just extremely annoying and surprising that this came from Sony's stamp of approval team. IMHO, Sony should have pulled a Microsoft and cut their losses as with Scalebound.

I never had that issue as I re-fuel at every chance I get.

Did completely bang it up one time though. Lol

Well I'm happy there are those out there that have the time to deal with such tedious mechanics in games. Just cannot do it. A game can be just as fun without those systems, many recent examples obviously.

A open world game without respawn...

Well, you recovery health after a good sleep in real life just saying.
Every NERO research location respawn inside a medic kit every day cicle, thats means you get a 100% heal item for free for many times you want.

You wont be doing much commando style in this for sure or you will die fast.
Man those rare parts of something just lay around randomly to find them all must be not easy task.
Replaying game second time at lvl 8. I thought i got this and wanted to took on some random horde sitting in trains, ohh boy just grab that bike and go fast far far away....those are scary and aggresive
Funny thing is i have cleaned point and can fast travel there but there is horde living there as well just near my door. You wake up nice morning and all open door to outside and bamm horde..lol
And deacon and sarah in this game is main thing same as was joel and ellie in tlou. Would be no point on doing anything here if not her. So for ppl who dont like it game just dont make much sense sadly.

Because it adds tension to the game ie survival. The good news for you is the game changes 12 hours in, the bad news is you probably still won't be happy.

To be fair if it dosnt click with him, no one should have to play through 12 hours that they don't enjoy. It's an entertainment product after all.

It's like when people say "stick with this tv show, it gets good in season 2 or 3" No thanks, all our time is too precious. :)

(y)

I've been telling him to quit since his first post, but the game to me does change fairly much once you get to the second area, but yeah, he's not going to dig this game even when he gets there. (he might as well hang it up, doesn't look like he digs anything about it)

I didn't like the survival elements, either, but I just solved that problem by turning the difficulty down to easy. Once the game eased up a little, I turned it back to normal. The game really does make a bad first impression, for those of us who don't like tense survival and wonky gun controls. I think a lot of reviewers made judgments based on these early experiences. It gets much better once you upgrade.

I haven't run out of gas once, fwiw. And I find the gun controls much better once you upgrade and turn the aim sensitivity down.

p.s. I'll tell you what my complaint is. This is story-related, so I'll tag it.

When Deacon finds Sarah alive in the army camp, she gives him the cold shoulder, keeps him at a distance, and sends him on a bunch of errands. He puts up with it, like a good self-sacrificial man is supposed to. He went from independent badass to simp. I mean, the guy has just gone through years of hell trying to find her, has risked his life innumerable times to do it, and her response is to say she can't come with him and here's your honey-do list. I'd be like, fuck that, I'm gonna get a dog and go hang out with Boozer.

I personally had some issues with this chapter as well.

For me it was almost hard to believe how people were acting. It took like an hour after finding Sarah alive for someone to be excited about the development, and that’s Boozer when you tell him over walkie. I get the need for discretion at first, but I dunno, my suspension of disbelief was tested a bit here. I could go on more but it is what it is.

In general the acting just didn’t feel totally natural here, to me.

I still like Rikki more than Sarah, honestly

Just minor gripes. No biggie

Sarah should be death from begining and Deacon should learn about how live with lost. Thats my take. They could put into the final area and discovery the true either found her death of found her transfomed into a freaker or even make a Boss fight about this conflit.

I would have preferred that, Sarah is the only one whose connection to Deacon I just couldn't get into. I mean, I didn't think much of Boozer at first (typical "I act so tough I'm going to get myself killed due to my stupid pride" nonsense that I can't stand) but he gets better at the third area.

And I don't agree with the comparison to Ellie that another poster made. Comparing her to (ironically) Sara, Joel's daughter, would be more accurate, just in this game Sarah turns up alive. Ellie has a more genuine connection to Joel because they were always traveling together, whereas Deacon's Sarah is left to flashback scenes that only slow the game down IMHO (honestly, cutscenes would have been better, not slow walking or linear driving). Plus, Sarah's VA does fine enough but she doesn't hold a candle to Ashley Johnson as Ellie. Deacon definitely has a better performance than Sarah, I wouldn't say he's quite on par with Troy Baker as Joel, but he's much closer in quality than the Sarah to Ellie comparison IMHO.

Anyway, I'm only a few story missions into the militia area but Sarah better wisen up quickly or I'm going to get frustrated. Come on, a military leader in a post-apocalypse talking about divine plans? Red flag. Said guy despite claiming to be all about that religious stuff doesn't even know the Noah's Ark story was in Genesis and not Revelations of all books? Massive red flag!

Frankly, I think she is more interesting and more likable than Sarah.

Absolutely.

She's pretty, a badass, willing to make the first move AND bi...there's a lot to love lol

Ah, my apologies then. When the English version drops I’ll update it

Appreciated really, it highlighted my incomplete question. Trying for a Wolfenstein reference due to the German trailer. Seems weird for a game produced in America to have the first DLC trailer released in German so I imagine there's already an English version waiting to be released.

Not finished yet.
Just finished the bit where Deacon and Sarah go to Cloverdale and Sarah suspects she may have been responsible for the outbreak.
I have to say, this is officially my Dead Rising 4.
Thanks Sony for making an excellent new Dead Rising game that Capcom couldn't.

I've had no luck with this game have I? Latest glitch (and I think there is no coming back from this one)

I have two missions in the Bounty Hunter section, You Got The Wrong Guy and Take Back What's Mine.

You Got The Wrong Guy - won't spawn but drive to the location and you can examine the blood sample and then the bike chase begins, knock him off tie him up and then... You Got The Wrong Guy begins again, only this time with a map marker. So you drive to the map marker (obviously it's the same location) only this time, no blood sample and a dead mission icon when you get there.

However because the game classes that mission as 'job in progress' with the mission giver, it won't let me turn in the other mission 'Take Back What's Mine' which is completed but you have to return to Garret to finish it - but of course it says 'You Got The Wrong Guy' is in progress so on and on and on in a loop.

Go back to an old save you will suggest. There are 13 saves in the directory, there isn't one before either of those missions. So I'm fucked. There are also no more main story missions on the map so I honestly don't know what I can do.
