In movies you get what you pay for. Those penny actors earn pennies because they are not, well, great actors.

That's not true at all

You get more for brand recognition not necessarily talent.

Look hired Tom Cruise for millions to do The Mummy and didn't help that movie.

That's the upper level. And he's a great actor, it's only that directors just tell him to play himself.

If we go to the "good actor" salary tier they're about 2-10 Million, and I'm talking about the Chris Evans of the world, not the Meryl Streeps.

A movie like It2 must hire like 12 high quality actors and that won't be cheap. And as I said, those kids were damn good actors, and I think a comparable adult of their category will be in the 6M+ range. So that'd be 70M on actors alone, if they want to reach the kids level.

That's obviously not possible.

Or maybe I'm just way off base so please disregard me lol I really need to go work in Hollywood. Would love to.

Again disagree

How much do you think Oscar nominated movies cost?

Tbf, more often than not actors take those as prestige work. I remember Jonah Hill asking the bare acceptable minimum to work with Escorcese.

I, however, remember The Departed costing a lot because of its AAA cast.

Yes, I can see where the budget for that went

Leonardo DiCaprio
Matt Damon
Jack Nicholson
Mark Wahlberg
Martin Sheen

I don't think "It" sequel will have a ton of names. There are plenty of talented of actors and actresses you could probably get for 300k - a million a piece.

I know that there's this general consensus that the TV series was at its weaker point when the adult actors came along, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna happen this time around.

Well here's hoping. They should really redeem both the book and the original series, which fell on their face with the adult chapter.

Nooooow, back to DC, can they hire any of the It's kids to play Billy? Please.

Yeah, it's not Manta. Ocean Master, Trench creature, Mera, Arthur, Queen Atlanna, another Trench monster. Looks like there's one more square off camera to the right which is probably Manta.

The only important part of casting for It 2 is that they have Amy Adams for Bev. I literally could not "not see" Amy when I was watching that movie. It's the perfect age, looks, and skill.

I'm gonna be honest, hiding Superman in the trailers and all is starting to work on me. Didn't realize I missed him until seeing Clark at the beginning of the last trailer.

I wonder if they let Henry in on the press tour since Ben probably won't be there, or if he'd be too busy playing Mario Odyssey

I think Ben will make the rounds. It's going to be 4 weeks away when they start and they'll lead with Gal for sure, but keep Ben in the background. I'm sure some of the click bait sites will ask him about it, but the mainstream sites will probably keep it about the movie. I'm still hoping Ben puts out a thoughtful and honest statement in the next few days and actually contacts these women that are calling him out to apologize and talk about it. Prove to them and us that he's better than that.

Gal, Jason, Ezra, and Ray will likely be the ones doing the various show appearances. I would assume Ben will be restricted to the junket and red carpets now.

Kidman playing Momoa's mom will be strange haha.

liking the look of that fish goon on the left of the shirt, kinda like ET for sure haha. hopefully they go all out on the sea creatures.

I just finished watching Baby Driver and, yeah, John Hamm needs to be the next Batman.

years of Mad Men and then that movie pretty much confirmed he would be my ideal Bruce Wayne.

hell, I liked Batfleck so much because he reminded me of that classic old hollywood macho Don Draper look and sound. but also I think Armie Hammer can pull off the same kind of performance as that, he even has Hamm's voice haha.

Do they really want to trade one actor with a drinking problem for another? I mean, it's obvious that's where the rift started with Affleck and WB before the current situation came to light.

Weren't there rumors over the summer that Eiza Gonzalez (Hamm's co-star/love interest in Baby Driver) was probably being cast as Catwoman for the DCEU? Like she was repeatedly going over to the Warner Bros lot, posting pics of DC comicbooks on her instagram and also posted some photos of her wearing something resembling Catwoman's basic costume?

I saw a photo of Walt Goggins at a pizzeria in NYC at got slightly mad that Marvel stole him before he could get snatched up as the Joker

I think the rumors were her for Zatanna.

Although, I guess she wouldn't be too young for Armie Hammer's Batman. Jokes aside, if stars align and Armie Hammer replaces Affleck as Bruce Wayne, do they end up adjusting other areas of the character. I doubt anyone would bat an eye if they say Armie's Bruce is 10 years older than he actually is, but even so that's a fair bit younger than Affleck. We'll see. Or we won't. Who knows.

I think they'll just roll with it, despite Armie looking way younger.

I'm curious as to where that would leave Batgirl. Wouldn't they be close in age?

It's from Man of Steel, it's right under the picture.

Costume designer Michael Wilkinson (right) with actor Henry Cavill in his Superman Man of Steel outfit and a member of costume team

And Cavill does not have hair like that anymore :p

Cross-Posting from the Comics OT since I think people here would have the most opinions (or laughs at) this:

So I'm posting here my re-imagining, my fool's wish, of what Superman and Batman's first encounter on the big screen is. I wrote it the day after I saw it for the first time during it's initial release, and it's written from a (somewhat) younger and (much) more foolish version of me, but I still love some of the ridiculous concepts in my "pitch". No, it wouldn't be a logical film to make for audiences, and no, I doubt most would like it or it's that revolutionary in concept, but man, I just WANT it to be real. So yes, it's glorified fan-fiction. And no I'm not ashamed...okay, mostly not ashamed (it falls apart at the end for a "concept over plot" mess). At least we have the DCAU's World's Finest, which is my preferred shared universe meet-up. And this...thing, I guess.

Superman V. Batman: A Fool's Reimagining
