jump kick, then attack him with a spiked bat (or something similar) when he's stunned, roll away when he shoots fire, he'll do his spinning fire move, when he's done he'll be dizzy, jump kick him again, rinse repeat, you can kill him in about 3 min.
You can also apparently hide in the maintenance room downstairs so his fat head will hit the door frame every time he tries to get inside which allows you easy opportunities to put the boot to him.

exploding bow and arrow is amazing. I used it on the virgin and it dominated him. Plus it clears out large groups of zombies like nobody's business.

360's in storage right now. Tell me, does the PS3 version at least surpass the the original Dead Rising in terms of overall performance?

This chick however, would take no weapon and she was slow as fuck. The only annoying survivor the whole game.
I can't remember his name but there was a wounded fat white guy from the americana sometime around case 3 or 4 that wouldn't let you carry him, and insisted on limping by himself the whole way back. So annoying. I wanted to kill him, but I'm obsessed with PP.

quickstep. You run faster than they do and can own them in the back when they run from you. It's amazing how well it works. Just get a fast weapon like boxing glove knives, 2-3 quicksteps, and destroy them.

iirc there's a wheelchair right outside you can put him in, that's what I did anyway

Time is running out, I have no time to get quickstep. :(

You don't have time to make a few in the americana? If not, then just grab lots of food or drink, and remember you only have to kill one of them, eventually you can just melee them down even if you're trading hits with them.

Thanks, I didn't know I only had to kill one of them. This'll help. :)

The motion blur in this game really kills the framerate and doesn't even look that good. I turned it off and never looked back. Shame, too. The blur in the first game was great.

When trying to save survivors get the Leadership magazine first in One Little Duck casino on the Silver Strip. Every survivor can just run around normally and you don't have to carry them.

I think i actually prefer carrying them. It bothers me a lot more when they just stand still or get stuck.

That's odd, the bride never gave me problems. Even before I started using the Leadership Magazine..

Finished the game, loved it every minute i played.

Final level was 45 and I missed 4 damn survivors. Going to start up my second playthrough later tonight but this game was so good.

Wish they had Frank in it to give us something while waiting for Case West

I just noticed that if you give the people guns they never seem to run out of ammo.

I rescued the musicians and i've had them following me around for hours now armed to the teeth with shotguns and LMGs.

My favorite moment in the game:
Blue Oyster Outfit
Shoes from Brand New You
Fedora&Aviator Glasses
Combo Guitar/Lazer Sword/BowieBoxingGloves
AngelLust & Guns
Leadership Mag

Where do you get LMGs, by the way?

I need to build a Freedom Bear.

One of the first things I noticed. Had 3 people with guns and shotguns walking with me rolling up quite a few zombies. What a shame I needed to get back to the shelter.

When I got a Freedom Bear, I got my LMG from the top of the large structure/pyramid in the Yucatan.

I'm sure there are others around, though.

There's one on top of the Juggs building. You gotta figure out yourself how to get up there, tho. :)

I know it's been mentioned a few times in this thread but I don't think Blue Castle Games gets enough credit for making such a bad ass game. I was worried about a new team handling the game but wow, they did an incredible job. Great work!

For sure. Capcom did the smart choice by acquiring them. Let's just hope they put their talent to good use.

Agreed...given their resume, I was really worried. They hit it out of the freaking park.

Casino robbers leave them after you finish their case file.

If you go to the Yucatan there is one on top of the piece in the middle. You have to climb up the side of it (looks like stairs kind of) and it'll be on top.

I had no time either...all i did was unload a shotgun on her face as soon as the fight started. The blasts made her stagger so i got her caught in a loop. When i ran out of ammo it only took 2 swings of the spiked bat...remember you only need to kill one. Took me under 2 minutes.

There's also an LMG above the Shamrock Casino entrance in the Silver/Platinum strip (I forget which). You have to jump onto some vending machines to the left.

It never occurred to me to use a wheelchair, as somebody else here suggested, but for him in particular, I always get the magazine that makes survivors more competent. With it, not only are survivors less likely to fall behind, and better at fighting, but all survivors who follow you are able to run at normal speed, except for
the girl in the mermaid suit.

I actually had a ton of time when doing that one, and 4 other survivors or something with him, so it wasn't a big deal, just frustrating to wait :lol I'll have to remember that for the future though. TBH, I really don't like escorting anyone, and only do it for the PP. Once I hit 50 I'm never rescuing anyone again in future playthroughs :D

So after hearing about how hard and terrible Slappy is, I decided to go fight him

But first I got the three rock stars, gave them all assault rifles, then went to fight him

As soon as the fight started, I ran down stairs across Palisades, drank some cocktails in the fountain, mixed some drinks, and then I got the screen that Slappy died

I remembered slappy being annoying when I was cooping at lower level with a friend, so I decided to load up on guns. Well, he's sepcifically designed to eff you up from range, and that went really poorly. Restarted using the jump kick melee thing and killed him in like 30 seconds the next try. Opposite issue with the CURE protestor.

Need help with
T.K in overtime mode
.

What's the best thing to do?

Head to the left, there's a wrench and some orange juice. You'll have to avoid TK's fireworks that he sets off, but just keep moving. They'll get you once or twice, but let them - then escape by jumping back into the 'main' arena, and consume the orange juice to regain some health if necessary.

The wrench will make life easier. Wait for him to do his OTT, flourished attacks, then lay into him with the wrench for a few hits - run away, rinse and repeat. If you need more health, there's orange juice and some snacks in the main arena, as well as cardboard boxes.

Inside the boxes if you throw them, there's some dynamite (one each side) and other crap. I never really found a way to effectively use the dynamite, but if you stun him (let him grab you then knock him off quickly) you could use it, I guess.

On the other side of the arena there's some more weapons - a lead pipe etc - and health items should you need 'em. But you shouldn't. You should only need to use the crank 2-3 times at around 5 seconds a time.

I thanked them a couple of pages back for this same reason. Dead Rising 2 is really awesome and if anyone on the team is reading this right now: you guys did an amazing job.

I'm kinda curious about how DR1 will feel after beating DR2. DR1 is like my favorite game this gen, but building weapons is so much fun...

Run around and grab a wrench plus some orange juice (Dodge the pyrotechnics). Hit him with wrench till he runs away. Turn the winch, when you see him coming at you cancel and just dodge him, wail him with the wrench again. It was like the easiest fight ever imho.

Probably already known, but in the Flex'n store in the other mall, you get 1k or 10k PP bonus for each time you run on a treadmill, bike and bare-handed break the punching dummies.

Easy 100K PP in about 5 mins. :)

Slappy is the easiest boss, IMO. If you're in co-op then he's ridiculously easy regardless of level, etc. Most repeated actions basically stun lock him. Water gun, for example works wonders.

Thanks for the help.
The fireworks really threw me off. I thought it was a trapped area, so i just avoided it. I was actually able to bring him down halfway with my fists.
:lol It was way easier than the fight with Brock in the first game.

Anyway, this is a great game, but they're gonna have to do something about the fights with the psychopaths in the third game. Even when you're carrying guns, combo weapons, and health items, you always feel like you're at a disadvantage. The boss character's mobility and damage resistance, not to mention the number of invincibility frames, really makes a number of the fights seem cheap and unfair. Chuck feels great when you're up against regular enemies, but when fighting bosses, he feels so sluggish by comparison.

Anyway, i can't wait till Case West is released.
I suppose they saved the real ending for that. I got Ending A my first time (forgot to give TK the zombrex), and i just went back to an earlier save to get the S ending. The other ending ended pretty nicely, while overtime ended on somewhat of a whimper.

Blue Castle must be feeling good now. They did a really great job.

Don't know if it has been said before, but the best weapon to beat Psychopaths is the Knive GLoves(bowie knife+GLoves). BEtter yet the knive GLoves and a couple of Pain Killers( any 2 alcohol mixed). THey go through the in less than a minute.

Finally beat the CURE guy. I waited for him to lunge at me and I ran back (roll was too slow), when he missed he stops for a second. Hit him twice and roll out the way before he counters. After that you can squeeze it one more hit (and roll away) before he runs away. Just repeat the pattern next time he jumps out the stalls. The boxing gloves with knives helped a bunch.

After that I ended up completing four missions in a row, I had a small army of survivors following me back to the shelter. That made me wonder though, would it be a good idea to always keep them with me? I'm getting the impression that if I hand them a bunch of guns, we'd be pretty much invincible.

where do you get the boxing gloves?

Also, do you automatically learn roll, or is it a button combination you have to press?

Finally, I found the PC version! :D

Took me three stores telling me that they didn't receive it and one store where they laughed at me because "DR 2 only got released on PS3/360, where the hell did I get the idea Capcom would release a PC version" but the fifth store finally had it.

Just saved my first survivor, so I've got a whole crazy game in front of me.

Boxing gloves are in the fighting shop (seconds away from the first entrance into the mall, right next to the skate shop), you should also pick up MMA Gloves since they pair up with nails and are much better then the nail bat. I don't know where Bowie knives spawn, but they're pretty common drops from zombies.

You learn the roll after a certain level, I can't remember which. You can still use the strategy without the dodge but you'll probably get less hits in unless you're willing to take a hit.
