Dead Rising Remasters detailed; U$19,99 each or U$49.99 for the collection

The shooting controls never bothered me. Frank isn't supposed to be a soldier, and the game design reflects this. They want you to scour the environment for anything you can use to smack zombies around. It's a melee combat game first and foremost, not a shooting game.

As to the guy complaining about the bosses stun locking you: don't worry about it for now. The game will drop you a dodge upgrade later that will help a ton. One of the best things OTR did for the series was have it available from the start.

There is motion blur and still some slowdown (intentional design or not?)
Motion blur and the slowdown were there in the original too, if by the latter you mean the freeze frames upon heavy hits like what the Zelda games tend to do.

I think I might just get Dead Rising 2. The save system will once again ruin the first game, and two is the best anyways.
Eh, I'm also in the camp of the save system adding to the game due to it being reminiscent of old-school Resident Evil.

The dodge move is what bothers me the most in DR1. You use it by tapping the left stick twice in the desired direction to dodge.
In OTR its a click on L3 to initiate the dodge roll. It's much better.
I had a broken 360 controller when I played DR1 for the first time due to it having a lose left stick and I did so many dodge rolls on accident that I got really frustrating to play. I only ever played through it once the 360 Elite controller was released (the one with the turnable D-Pad).
I mean, the game is still a lot of fun but its controls are the main problem I have with it. And the stupid as hell survivor AI.
Everything else is awesome.

Yeah, thanks to the control customization options now available with the XB1 and PS4, one of the first things I'll do is remap the Left-Stick click-roll to an actual face-button or something :)

Yep, know that pain. My first 360 controller had it's left stick left wandering in random directions purely because of this.

And yeah, I'll be playing this game on a keyboard so no worries there from me anymore. I'll just map it to shift or control and forget about it :)

Is Best Buy not getting this game or something? I haven't been able to find it anywhere on their website. Neither the DR1 remaster nor the triple pack. Seems odd.

The game utilizes object-based motion blur; a rarity at the time of its original release.

"Slowdown" you're referring to is by design. They're called hit-stop and it's one of Capcom's hallmark designs to dramatize weight of the impact.

I really want to buy this on ps4 even tho I have it on 360.. is it 1080p? 60? 30?

Im talking about only dead rising one mostly.

Just checked the OT thread of OT's in the community section. Doesn't look like anyone volunteered to do it?

Grief.exe apparently claimed it, but I guess it'll be a general remaster thread rather than a specific DR1 thread. Which is fine, since most of the interest is going to be in the first game and there's not much of a reason to clog up the board with three separate threads.

So Dead Rising 2 has just unlocked for me, but everytime I load the game up, it either freezes at the Capcom Copyright or at the Capcom Logo. The only way ive managed to get the game running is by disconnecting my Console from the Internet.

The game loads so its not a licence issue, im thinking deleting and re installing but that doesnt explain why it works OK while im not connected to the internet

which platform?

sorry im on PS4

Dead Rising loads up ok, so far only Dead Rising 2 wont load and I haven't tried Off the Record

Edit: Off The Record is getting stuck at the Capcom Logo as well. Game loads when im disconnected from internet

Should mention these are downloaded from Eu Ps Store

For an 11 year old game, it looks damn good in motion. Downsampled 4K/60fps does wonders. Running maxed out too, except with MSAA turned off (isn't really necessary when downsampling, and drags performance down).
