Demon´s Souls is Way Too Easy

It will be easy if you are overleveled lol
I believe my 4th playthought (required to Platinum) I was not at lvl 162.

Anyway you didn't even started to farm yet.

Try to farm Pure Blade Store to make a single final upgrade and come back here to say farm in that game is easy.
It is a hell of time consuming that will make you crazy.

If I'm not remembering wrong you can get one Pure material per play thought and they are in very specific spots... if you miss then you will need to do another playthrough.

For Platinum it is required 4 playthroughs if you didn't miss any Pure material.

It was the very first, and people back then found it very hard!
The PS5 edition removed loading, which allows you to jump back in much faster, removed the item burden as an issue, added a ring to walk in the swamps, added the ability for npcs to forgive you, rebalanced the broken drops, and yet, it left the old strategies and exploits untouched.

The game was the shit when it came out!
  • A tutorial bosses where 95% of players die.
  • Dropping your currency upon death, and loosing it upon second death.
  • Losing your humanity and 50% of your max health after a single death, with no easy way to restore it.
  • Kicking you back at the start instead of having checkpoints every 2 minutes.
  • The game becomes harder instead of easier upon dying as a human.
  • The game is full of traps and surprise moments that made said deaths much more common.
  • Having PVPers invade you to kill you of your hard earned humanity.
  • Having NPCs becoming hostile or dead permanently.
  • Not being able to pause or save-scum.
  • Having a boss revive it self unless you kill an NPC.
  • Having another NPC kill all your precious vendors if left alive.
  • Having a 2nd boss join the fight during an already hard first one.
  • Making you fight a PVPer as a boss.
  • Having a quest line where all possible outcomes result in you being attacked by an NPC.
  • Showing you a poison Swamp, and for the first time ever in a video game, force you to walk through it.
All these stuff where unique back then. Now after so many Souls games, their imitators and generally the whole industry that changed because of this game, it's no wonder you find it easy.

It's like trashing the Valerian and John Carter comics because you've seen Star Wars and the 5th Element. The stuff Star Wars ripped-off, ripped-off John Carter!

Wait, are you telling me that my shitty fire sword +2 already need a super rare material to get at +3?

fuck me i don't remember jack shit about this game...

I mean, for now the damage is ok (and the fire stun is great) but enemies are starting to be spongy in the advanced levels...maybe it's time to use a new weapon but i hate grinding for crafting material in these games.

A random grindr has appeared.

Youre comparing Sekiro, a game that is almost all skill and not build related like DS. Good job.

just in terms of bosses imho (for obvious reasons) and only if you played the other souls games.

It needs for +5.

Pure Blade Stones are required to upgrade Sharp weapons from +4 to +5.
There is a different Pure material for each weapon type.

No way it`s easy for who plays it without wiki/forum help.

A normal playtrough will inevitably lead to a shitload of deaths, some frustation and i the end you`ll pass some lvls only after knowing each corner of it by heart.

OP have you ever played any of the other souls games? Would explain a lot.

-> Dark Souls / Dark Souls 3 / Bloodborne lvl 150+ minimum
-> Sekiro Platinum Trophy after grinding for skills
-> Demon Souls lvl 162 3rd playthrough now (Early On)

Anyone got tips to help with tendancy? I want to try some of this cool stuff but it seems whenever I think I know a way something small happens and boom, all that was for nothing. Lots of it seems to be one chance and that's all you get.

The difficulty doesn't come from damage you deal to enemies. Its learning attack patterns, enemy placements searching levels for equipment and upgrading your character properly.

I'd recommend to anyone playing for the first time dont use guides. The levels are small enough to trial and error through and just take your time, soak it all in.

Souls games are hard until you are leveled higher than the level/area you're in.

I thought dark souls 2 was too difficult but I had the "company of champions" covenant selected which make 50 percent harder so I farmed for a few levels and it became fine to play and once I realised the covenant thing it was too late so that part was now too easy.

Kill Boss, Suicide in the Nexus.

You'll get full white.

Never die in Human Form in the levels.

I agree op. I finished first playthrough and only boss to give me trouble was maneater because of how broken it was. Super short game also.

So just finished DS for the 2nd time, build level 162, started with Quality but now most stats are pretty high that i can use Spells and Miracles rather well. This game is way too easy imo, outside of 1 Boss (Manatear), all the rest is a Walk in The Park to the point i almost never died. I think it is way too easy to farm aswell, so my build went OP too fast, i used 4-2 to farm, i´m gaining 11K souls per 30/45 seconds.

Sekiro gave me the challenge of my life & i got the Platinum on that game, it was hard and relentless, DS feels like a walk in the park in comparison.

OP has a song dedicated especially to him

I have a feeling I'd probably enjoy it a lot then. I've always been kind of afraid of playing the Souls games because of how difficult everyone says they are. I'm not typically the type to play hard games though or on the hardest difficulty as I don't really enjoy getting frustrated.

Every Souls games its kinda of easy, mechanically.

Sekiro and Bloodborne are mechanically the hardest games in the franchise but are also the easiest in strategy or tactical skill.

DeS it's probably the most methodical of them all by making the stages way more of a challenge than the bosses by having stronger mobs and by placing shortcuts and checkpoints further apart.

I love the game but come on lol. They can get stuck walking in mid air! If that's not broken I dunno what is.
Never had any problem with Maneater getting stuck.

But every Soulsborne game has this kind of thing.

Taurus Demon can fall of the bridge and kill itself in Dark Souls, Demon of Hatred in Sekiro does it too.

And i think he said "broken" in the sense of "unfair".

well it's not unfair no. Well only to the maneaters if you bring firestorm and all the magic amping kit and finish the whole fight in under 20 seconds! It is broken though. The AI pathing is shocking.

Farming for xp in Souls game is easy mode.

Every Souls hardcore player must: Keep the Soul Level at 50 to 80 for helping and griefing.

Every character above level 100 (that is not meant for competitive pvp) is for casuals.

Git gud.

That's why it's easy. Magic is broken-powerful in DeS and most of the Souls games for that matter.

Good job on your accomplishment btw. I think these games are at their best when you invest your time until you "break" the game in a particular way to make it easy (for you). Lotsa fun.

So you outleveled the game and chose the most meta build (whether willingly or not), and are calling it easy? Then you compare it to a game of the same genre but 4 iterations later?

.................. ok

The remake needed a rebalance in order for some challenge to happen. Your character demolishing bosses with two hits should never happen.

Anyway, Bluepoint said magic is not unbalanced. So take their game knowledge with a grain of salt.

These are one one of those originating posts you wish you could undo. In short, no one cares and it's just a game and it doesn't make you cool.
