God damn. I want to thank my family and friends because of their absence I could pull this off and bungie for reinventing cocaine.
Fucking finally, my eyes feel like bleeding but it was worth it. Didn't expect anything from the 2 legendary and 4 blue encrypted thingies from the last two strikes. (100 vanguard rep BTW)

Honeybear77 just hopped on to help in that last strike after we had someone bail. Seemed to go smoothly for a level 22 Strike. Shame nothing above green Engrams dropped though (at least for me).
Also, sorry I didn't see the party invite until afterwards. I actually have to do a few things around the house right now but I should be back on later tonight!

Picking up my PCP grind from my disconnection earlier and already @ 1 purple, 1 green after 1 run.
Protip (I think, might've been the d/c after I went to orbit) if you accedentally kill too many and get put to the next part of the mission (after "resist the hive") return to orbit. You can then Resume the missiona t a later time (dunno if it carries over if you do something else or only if you go straight back).

I'm actually disappointed with how easy it is to get exotics. I wanted exotics to be like WoW Legendaries. People would be doing big long quest chains that would take them to all four planets, and the only way to start it would be off the final boss of the raid with extremely low RNG.
But no, they give them out like candy. Can buy them from a vendor, can get them randomly from PvP, random drops, random bounties, etc.

Do you really get flames around your head or something like that for beating it? Do you (or anyone else) have a picture of it? Seems pretty badass to be running around with that.

Hmm I still carry my lvl18 Hand Cannon around but in my experience it's been useless agaisnt higher lvl enemies compared to rare weapons. It's still fine for anything below my lvl though.
This isn't an mmo and I've played actual mmos with better gear rates.
Totally agree. Instant gratification is strong.

Or just run, that's the easiest way. Usually they just tail you back into the wall of allies and get peppered.

not being an mmo doesn't mean anything when the entire drive of a game is endgame focused gearing, and the treadmill is the point. i've complained about the journey along the way in mmos and diablo and everything in between, but, less than a week in and being irate about not having effectively WoW legendary quality items is just goofy.

Mars is just damn fun. Fun enemies to fight. Fun environment to watch with all the battles going on. The Cabal actually look like a war race and are equipped like one. Lots of Public Events seem to occur. Fun landscape to ride your sparrow in with all the jumps and canyons. Lots of easy to access new areas and a good amount of buildings that you can explore around in.

I don't know how this game is going to survive the three months for first expansion to come out when people are getting full exotic/legendary in the first week.
The same way people play Diablo 3 RoS for weeks despite legendaries dropping like candy?

While its not an mmo, is borrows many gamplay elements from them. Taking wow for example, once you reach endgame and all you do is raid, you have one shot per week to get upgrades.
Then if one does drop, you need to roll against all the other people who need it.
In this regard, Destiny's loot mechanic isn't bad imo.

Just got offered my first exotic bounty, not sure which one to take.
Options are Bad Juju (pulse rifle), Pocket Infinity (fusion rifle) and Super Good Advice (machine gun).
I'm thinking to just go Bad Juju so I'll have a nice primary weapon, even if it is a pulse rifle.

But when you're "maxed out", there is nothing to grind for. It should not be easy to get maxed out, and it certainly isn't easy in Diablo.

I was just turning in Crucible bounties and when I turned one in it gave me a "Vanguard Mentor Missive" which I can redeem for an exotic bounty. Just seems completely random on turn in.
Ah I would man but i'm on XB1 unfortunately.

So, what's everyone's favorite weapon? Mine's the Acheron SR5 so far. Scout rifle, handles great, does excellent damage, plenty of upgrades, and most of all it looks fucking cool from a first person perspective.
Bad Juju has a 15 round magazine and a very high rof/low impact so... keep that in mind. 5 shots is on the low end of Hand Cannon mag sizes!
It does have ultra fast reload + damage bonus if you score a kill, so there is that.
Both of those special/heavy options are really really good, they both have ammo management bonuses, I'd personally go with one of them, but do some research on destinydb.com and look at their exotic mods to see what you think.
You can also search youtube to see if there are videos of them, Bad Juju does look quite cool!
Can you send some of those bounties my way? 30ish hours in and I haven't seen one.
