Bungie definitely needs to rebalance how they do faction/vanguard experience and marks.

Primarily up the value for doing strikes near your level. If you're going for rep why are 3 patrol missions gonna give you more than one strike?

Yeah, the way it is now I don't really have a reason to do Strikes. Which suits me fine because those are like my least favorite parts of the game.

Compared to me - I love strikes. I'd love to just zone out and run the strike playlist for a few hours, but the rewards have to be worth it. I agree that it's just not worth our time at this point.

Got New Monarchy to rank 3 and got a legendary rocket launcher and leveled the Cryptarch to lvl 14 and got a legendary sniper rifle. I already have legendary of each. Rocket launcher is at least a different damage type than the one I have so I'll probably keep it. The sniper is same damage type and stats appear the same so I guess I'll dismantle it for mats.

First world problems...

Unless I can manage to farm my weekly marks, etc on weekends or if using Remote Play on public sucks, I'm planning to buy a Vita.

What's the fastest way to farm rep? I need to get Future War Cult up to 2 so I can buy some legendaries.

Is it patrols?

If you finish your bounties for the day, assassination patrols in particular give 25 rep and they're piss easy. Look for the circle insignia with a star in it when patrolling.

I'm thinking of doing this when I get home, between public events every 15 minutes/half hour:

Go to Earth
Check The Steppes for Assassination mission, do it if its there if not move to Mothyard
Do the same thing, if its there do it if not go to Forgotten Sands.
Once you finish at Forgotten Sands return to orbit and repeat. If its close to a half hour mark go to the public event and do that for marks if you need them.

Unless anyone has a better route for assassination patrols I'm gonna test that out today and see how it goes.

Looks like you get a guaranteed legendary once you hit rank 3 with a Faction. When I hit 3 I got a legendary package in the mail that only had the chance to be a legendary item.

I just did the story stuff/patrols and bounties while I leveled to 20. It went pretty quickly.

I got the same Launcher from NM and hitting Rank 3 with them last night. I feel the same, I already have a Legendary rocket launcher but it was Solar and this is Arc, so that should help.

It is way better than getting an armor piece for another class (I was fearing that!) so I'll take it. I love the Clusterbomb evolution too. Hits a HUGE area.


EDIT: Just saw yours is Solar -- that is interesting. What is the one you can buy?

This one doesn't have the clusterbomb either, it has a chance to return ammo to the magazine on a missed shot. My other launcher has clusterbomb and it is indeed awesome.

Is there much point to levelling your faction to lvl 3, or does it just give you a legendary? I can live without grinding for that right now, since I'd rather finish grinding my vanguard rep to lvl 2 so I can get the armada type 3 chestplate whilst I work towards an FWC helmet.


Got my gauntlets of no tomorrow, so that's two legendary armour pieces now! Getting there.






Oh also, what's the best way to build up ascendant shards? Just patrols and I guess dismantling legendary/exotics? I need like 30 of them god damn.

Yeah, Rumble isn't very good for marks, unless you use the hide in corner+shotgun combo for easy kills, but the difference in winning and losing is one mark, so Rumble may be the best mode in the long run due to the short nature of the games.

I can attest to this, Rumble seems the way to go in the long run since the matches can only last up to 10 min and the maps are small

Yeah you get a Legendary at Rank 3. You can keep leveling them and from what I'm hearing you will still get a legendary each rank. Level 3 also allows you to buy their weapons.

Online on the destiny site or in the app, logging and go to legend on the side. This takes you to your character. Select crucible and look for stats there you can see what the medals in PvP mean and how many of each you have
