I just started Venus as level 11 on my last play session, with the hard setting recommended for 14. I only played for 20 minutes or so but had no issues; I died when I got sloppy in a dark zone (first run in with the, um, robots). It felt somewhere between a Heroic and Legendary Halo campaign mission, which is where I like it.

No, 13 strange coins could. You needed 23 motes of light for an exotic engram... that could turn into an armor piece for a class you're not even playing. Fuck that.

The strike playlist on the upper two levels offers +3 and +6 strange coins per strike.

I'm doing an exotic bounty that requires me breaking down 10 rare or better fusion rifles. So, I'm in the weird position of preferring rare drops to legendary ones.

It's so weird that I already have an exotic weapon and now 2 separate bounties for exotic weapons in progress and I've yet to receive a single legendary item for my Titan lol. Luckily I'm not nearly as frustrated as some of you guys are and I just don't see the point in farming for stuff. I could buy armor or a legendary weapon but I'm going to wait and see what Xur offers this weekend.

So I'm being a leech ass dick at Skywatch on my Hunter, Just crouching behind a rock, wiggling the stick every so often to not get logged out, letting 3 or 4 20+ guys kill the hive and getting some XP and items/engrams without doing anything and I get the Grimoire popup about enemy kills as Titan 2500/5000 or something.

I'm not a Titan. I'm a Hunter...

FYI the regular strikes have matchmaking it's only the heroic ones that don't. So you shouldn't have a problem.

Maybe it gets manageable at higher levels. I can't handle elder fallen dudes with swords as a level 4 on level 6 difficulty...

Thanks! And yep, there is matchmaking for the strikes. It's worked for me pretty well. I've had people drop out for whatever reasons but almost always, before I get to the awful endings the game will add some people to my instance and I'll have help when I really need it. But it is rare that people drop out. I mostly assume it's connection issues.

The regular strikes have zero options though - in terms of level or difficulty or modifiers.

Story missions do, but there's no matchmaking. The strike playlist has level ranges and matchmaking but chooses the actual mission at random, I think.

Its just a hodge-podge.
