I would say yes, i do all of mine quickly. I had also heard a rumor that completing all bounties in a day increases the odds of getting an exotic bounty.
 
100+ hours into Destiny and counting...
I'm still amazed at how deep this game has it's hooks on me, even with the limited content.
 
If the end of match rewards for Iron Banner are just regular crucible stuff, and the Iron Banner is solely about upgrading marks and rep to purchase IB stuff.

Then I'm giving it a hefty dose of PASS.

I got way to much other shit to do in this game than grind a whole new "faction" that uses its own marks.

The importance of levels is huge. And I'm still stuck on 29 with only one raid armor drop.

They should've added consumables that drop that let you upgrade non-raid armor, it's irritating.

I tried hard mode raid with all 29's and the ammo consumption is crazy. I have a 300 Attack Suros and had to have eagle eyes to keep picking up ammo due to it taking too much to keep a lot of mobs down. Still, I did *my* part well :).

I don't think I've ever done *all* the bounties, there's always one or two that I consider dumb as shit or not worth the time. That being said, I did bang out 12 of 15 bounties yesterday and got another Exotic Bounty offered.

I was talking to a real life friend who plays Destiny, and he had no idea how to form a team for nightfall/raid. He goes "there was no autojoin (what he calls matchmaking). So, I didn't know how to get a team. How do I get a team?" I told him that he had to use the app and try to form a team through the community, and he said "welp guess I'm not doing those."

I wonder how many other folks are like him.

You have to kill ALL of the other adds that are up on ledges as well, correct? I will have to do this one too in the near future.

I pretty much think that i'm done with this game

Got to level 28 and i have zero interest in trying the Raid in Hard Mode atm, the content available atm is just not enough, doing the same stuff every day is...ugh

I'll come back for the "expansions" (since i redeemed the codes on D1 anyway =_=)

I disagree. The raid is very tough. You really need six people with Mikes, and coordinated strategy. I wouldn't want to do it with randoms is even if there was a matchmaking. They'll drop out, some of them will be terrible, and you'll be in the middle of a tough fight and people just leave. No thanks.

Your on gaf. Friend a lot of people that post their tags in the thread. Friend People on the spreadsheet in the clan to thread. Post on Destiny LFg. I have been able to get a raid crew together quickly several times.

It also helps if your level 27 or better level 28. I get invites to raid almost every time I'm on, Over and over again.

No, leave the guys on ledges alone. Just the Knights and Wizards that are initially in the arena and that come off the drop ships.
 
Anyone else getting random Raid invites from people not in their friend list? I didn't post my info anywhere and I keep getting them occasionally. I ignore them.
 
Damn son. I depleted the shit out Venus' resources but doing so allowed me to hit level 29. Pretty much out ascendant shards too.

80 parts to fully upgrade raid armor pieces is insane.

I get that they are trying to get people into the lore but it just sounds silly IMO
 
I can stand all other RNG bullshit but not the public events. Waiting ages to get the first event of the day bonus is not cool.
 
So, I wanted to write a quick summary on my experience of Killing Xyor and how it became quickly apparent it was easier solo

Last night a group of 3 spent 2 hours with multiple deaths and did not complete, then today I went solo and was amazed at the difference is difficulty

when the 3 of us done it there was Wizards everywhere, and we just kept wiping, despite one of us hiding in the whole in the cliff

so hear is how to do it solo

Allow 1 hr 30 min...

you need

Arc Fusion Rifle
Flame bazooka/rocket launcher

the hardest bit is being patient, as a silly death 30 mins in can leave you demoralised...

now when you get at the bottom of the stairs (the part where you have to survive 3 waves, it is CRICTICAL you have cleared the room up the stairs as if the wizards follow you into the hallway you are screwed, also if you die on this bit remember to run up the stairs and clear the room again...

on this section use the doorway as you cover, get the knights down quickly with your fusion rifle, and use the flame rocket launcher on the wizards...

I am not going to lie, this is the hardest bit, I died 3 times.... but through my own fault of rushing... make sure you have plenty of spare ammo packs, at least 10 Heavy essentially...

take your time, stay in the doorway, pull them to you, and get the wizards and knights down quickly.

once done you can run all the way to polgoth...

when there go in the room and clear the adds make sure you stay near the room though as if Polgoth breaks free and destroys the entrance you are done for..

USE this room as you pull room, using your fusion rifle and rocket launcher. you MUST get those wizards down or they disappear and regen their shields, this is what takes the time as I was chewing through heavy ammo, but I kept using my ammo packs and as soon as a wizard was in the room, 2 rockets and they are down...

Keep an eye on the wizards names as you have no idea how many ships you have done and you will see him come in the room, occasionally you will have to pop out into the main room to pull them in (be careful as they can hide beside the door....

Titan striker worked well here as if there was several knight in the room a special would kill them....

I honestly could not believe how much easier it was solo that in a group

I didn't realize you could get invites from people not on your friends list.

Edit: oh you change the settings to allow anyone or your in the tower.

Oh cool. Thanks. I had heard otherwise so this makes it a little easier.

On a general side note - I grinded my alt SO hard this weekend that I barely watched any football (which is simply outrageous if you knew me). I got my new defender titan up to level 26 thanks to my main (who will now become my secondary, sorry Hunter) and some serious Vanguard rep grinding (read: patrol missions). I am a pair of legendary boots away from all legendary armor/weapons.

Also big thanks to Skamawall who carried me through the Nightfall last night with my then-25 Titan. That was a big help to my vanguard rep.

To be honest, he and Bytestyle tend to carry me through most stuff...

Yea done as well. Pretty much hit the end game brick wall. Time to trade it in for something else. Too much in the pipeline coming that I'm not going to have time for this. The raid while I enjoy it's just too much to try to get good groups going to complete plus shards, shards, shards. Complete a checkpoint everyone should get a piece Bungie.

Same here, mate. Right after the most recent patch I pulled a shard or energy from every PE I completed Gold Tier in for the first 4 or 5. Then after that I've received zero rewards from PEs and over the last three days even my daily reward for completing a PE has been a MoL :\ It's irritating the lengths Bungie has gone to to drag out the grind for upgrade mats. First they nerf the Queen's items which were only acting as intended, and then they don't buff the PEs w/ meaningful rewards.

The Tiger Strike version is hard enough during the Dinklebot door hack with all the Ultra Minotaurs and Hobgoblins -- the Nightfall version should be interesting!

That seems like the hardest part. The boss is actually much easier.

Ah, got it. Yeah, I'm with you on that. I appreciate the direct interviews with Bungie a lot more. Even if I don't like the answers, I still want to hear the thought process.
 
Hey GAF, I haven't done any raids yet, what would I be able to get from the first chest inside the Vault of Glass? I don't know if I am leveled up enough to do the entire raid yet.

Instead of "Play Destiny!", one should have the option to actually be specific in what you want to play. "Play Strike!" or "Play Crucible!" or "Raid, bitches!"; anything that isn't as vague and uninforming as the story.

I agree 100%

I usually ignore all invites from randoms. If they would drop me a message first or at least let me know what they want to do, I'd actually consider it.

With void weapons and a shotgun that [art is a breeze. Just assign people up top to take care of the hobgoblins for wave two and use void to eat through the Minotaurs.

We ended up trying last night with 5 people...got to the final area before giving up and needing a sixth person. I did manage to get a piece of raid armor though! lol
