If Bungie was smart, they'd make the iron banner gear give you 30 light so PvPbros could progress. Maybe setting up specific goals in IB (like exotic bounties) to get pieces... hmmm...

Why is getting Thorn the most annoying and time consuming extoci bounty but it's the worst weapon? I actually really don't want it but I'll do it just because and then probably put it in the vault so it can catch rust. On a positive though, GOT POCKET INFINITY bounty today....finished today. yeaa

Bad Juju does indeed suck ass.. Until you upgrade it. I got the upgrade for the instant reload yesterday and it's pretty much the best PvE gun now. Of course I'd never take it into pvp with that shitty clip size, but maybe the buff Bungie's bringing will help.

Bad JuJu is still trash even with the reload upgrade. The second you face an enemy you can't kill within that small clip...ugh.

Managed to get a Void damage Supremacy on the final Queen's Wrath token I got yesterday, already had a Solar damage Supremacy... didn't manage to get the Arc damage version before the event ends but 2/3 isn't bad I suppose. Hopefully we'll see the event return in the future so I can complete the set.

Also managed to finish off the Nightfall right before the reset, Arc damage Rocket Launcher made short work of both the tank and the boss.

On another note, the Bad Juju bounty is such a pain in the butt, after finishing the Nightfall you shouldn't have to complete 25 strikes afterwards. If they don't want to change that then at least let me put the bounty in the vault so that it doesn't permanently take up a slot.

guaranteed progress from PvP? cause that wouldn't unbalance everything.
You're right, because RNGing the raid over and over is the epitome of balance and smart design.

Whereas setting goals and requirements to progress that are transparent (though not necessarily easy) would just be a massive clusterfuck.

Speaking of bounty experience, what's the exact science behind that? The experience spreads out evenly to everything equipped, both weapons and armor, that has not yet been maxed?

So, if you want to funnel all the experience to one item, just equip weapons and armor in all of the other slots that has already been maxed out?

Remember to equip fully upgraded items in all other slots to funnel all bounty XP to exotics you want to level.

edit: coincidence...

holy crap, did not know that. thank guys!

So this is just a mode where I get stomped by people who have better luck than me and people who raid?

I have played for 40 hours now, had 1 legendary engram that turned into a shard and still not seen an exotic item or bounty. My primary weapons only do 224 dmg.

Queens Bounty easy Chest/helm, Save Motes of light/strange coins for Xur. 40 hours and only 1 legendary?

The actual event mechanics, not so much.

I will reserve judgment until i get my hands on the playlist. It's pretty much a chance to get some cool looking armor/shaders/marks. I was mostly referring to the page itself.

I've never seen one exotic bounty and I bet I have more hours than that in... But honestly for the time spent pvp is kinda worth it, I'm rank 2.5 now and just bought all my legendary armour

And it turns out the Thorn itself doesn't even do Void damage... It's a shitty bounty, but yeah, your best chance is stocking up on Void weapons. Don't think FFA works like that.

I only have three void weapons on that character: a HMG, a shotgun (the comedian) and a fusion rifle (Light/Beware).

Maybe I just need to level those up a bit before I try it again.

Honestly though, thorn doesn't even seem worth it in the end unbuffed. I only doing this for the hope that post-buff it turns into something actually worth it.

Holy shit that sounds awful. 25 strikes and a nightfall strike?

Another night of doing Tiger Strikes without getting anything useful. I am really sick of every strike. Did get an ascendant shard while farming the moon for helium though and was able to upgrade my sunbreakers some more.

Ward of Dawn is so fun to use in PvP. They always think they can kill me inside the bubble. Also, whoever said that people ignore the heavy ammo were right. Out of 10 matches only one other person came to get the heavy ammo. Meanwhile everyone on the other team is blowing us up with launchers and LMGs.

Goddamn I did not realize that the Iron Banner event had the level advantage turned on....

That is going to be painful. Considering how much trouble I am having with gearing up I may have to just skip out on this one for the most part...

I guess at the very least I should try to grind some more Spirit Bloom to at least level up the few Legendary pieces I already have....

i'm betting the latter

i assume it'll work very similar to queen's bounties but much bigger time investment per bounties

That's what I'm guessing but I still have a little hope that they throw some freebies at us like they did with Queen's Wrath.
I'm not into PvP so I won't grind that shit to rank 3 just to get a cool looking Warlock body armor. I would buy that white / gold shader but I'm sure the rank 1 shader will be the gold / white one...

So uh is this worth getting? I'm completely out of the loop when it comes to Destiny.

+ Very good shooting mechanics
+ Gorgeous graphics, immaculate presentation and good performance
+ Awesome PVP
- Almost no mission variety and terrible storytelling
- Loot mechanics can be incredibly frustrating
- End game grind is tedious

If you want a good single player shooter, it sucks. If you want a great competitive shooter and an unhealthy addiction to a loot system that hates you, it's good.

The new iron banner gear looks dope, but I have zero interest in leveling up my armor again and collecting all those damn things again to upgrade... would take ages.

Thanks! Is there much focus on communication and teamwork?

Done for the night. Warlock and Hunter are both lvl28, and my Tit is now lvl22, and about to hit 23. I will be raiding the first two characters this week, hoping to land some raid gear for both. My Titan I hope to get to 24 or 25, so he can really help me farm materials. I'll be generating 27 assmats a week just on the weekly strikes. :D PEACE.

imo, I'd have liked it better if they made it so when breaking down upgraded armour, it should at the very least give you half of your invested shards back.
So say you invested 30 shards in one piece of armor, breaking it down gives you 15.

Yeah how does that work.. take your best armor to Iron Banner to stand a chance, win unupgraded armor that's worse? Farm for relic iron and shards again? If it were equivalent to raid armor maybe i'd do it.

Awesome pvp? Awesome?

Oh yes! More rep to grind. I would love the Titan Iron Banner armor but finding and getting ascendant shards is such a pain in the ass that I feel stuck with what I have here, halfway through level 27. So damn irritating.

Not to mention I still have to do the raid (if I ever have the opportunity) and then I'll have to upgrade the raid gear too (if I get lucky enough to get some). Finding materials is easy for me outside of ascendant shards. That's just tedious.

Awesome pvp? Awesome?

Not the word I would use. Not my cup of tea when it comes to multiplayer. Everything is just Team Deathmatch with a twist it seems.
First time I was playing Control and we lost the lead when we had 2 out of 3 captured I was confused.

I do find it ok. But I rather play Killzone or Battlefield.

Raid Banner. PvP Iron Banner with no matchmaking (other than to join two teams). Drops 30 light legendaries. 6 players per fireteam required.

Make it happen.

Morning DGAF.

So the Iron Banner is upon us. Or will be shortly anyway.

It looks cool and all, but if Bungie thinks for one second that I'm going to grind my way for gear that will be inferior to what I currently have equiped....

Ascendant materials are hard enough to come by; why exactly would I bother upgrading a different set of Legendary that's not Raid gear?

After hours of jumping around, my findings are as such:

Area below the first chest in raid, the small leafy passage way, connects to the larger area accessed from over the top of the cliffs in the templar area, in both the light rocky zone and the vec mechinery sections, from top to bottom there are no useful passageways or hidden areas, there is however a small passageway close to the enterance of the vex machinery area (entering from under the first chest side), that leads to a little window overlooking part of the cave you ascend when heading towards the templar, despite being a fenced window a few knee slides can push you through it, though to no real benefit.

There are a number of golden gated pieces around the areas but none of them would seemingly bring you anywhere useful.

It seems, to me at least, that at some point or another, "The Trial of Kabr" was meant to be a puzzle based area (no spawn holes around the area), if you glitch through the main door in non-raid mode, the entrance to the cave system that takes you down to the templar is closed off, preventing you from going deeper than the first chest, so I feel as though their plan was to close off this area in Hard mode, and have people navigate through the jumpy-puzzle hot mess that is "The Trial of Kabr", which would then bring them out in the templar area to continue onwards.

It does seem strange that as the raid currently stands, the trial of kabr section serves as nothing but a chest spawn and an extremely short passageway to the templar. Another potential outcome, could have been that the area that this place is in, contained a small boss, or further vanishing steps which would eventually give you access to the later jumping area.

All in all the area that connects the templar boss arena and the trial of kabr load zone has nothing of notable value at current, it may be used at a later date, it may remain unused and abandoned, was still fun exploring it.

Excellent post. I sorely wish I had time to explore the raid environments but the teams I've played with are, understandably, all about the next boss and the next chest. That's not how I play the game outside the vault, I want to leave no stone unturned, but good people such as yourself take the time to do exactly this in there.

Capturing zones is important, as is getting kills. You get a point multiplier bonus on your kills based on how many zones your team has. You also get more points if you travel as a team and capture zones together, etc. It's not like King of the Hill or something where you get points over time just for having the spot. I really like the scoring system and it can lead to really close games and comebacks. The zones let you know where the action is going on in the map so I'm not wandering around aimlessly like I sometimes feel in clash. It feels like all of the maps were designed around Control. I do wish there were more game modes and stuff like capture the flag and oddball. The vehicle-heavy deathmatch playlist they have every once in a while is the worst.
