Destiny - What do you think the next 6 months will look like?

Exactly the same as the past six months. A barren wasteland devoid of content. I played the shit out of Destiny when it came out and got my Hunter to level 30, but I seriously have no idea what people keep playing now.

I must of done each strike about 50 times, people do more then that?... Why?

Yeah, it makes absolutely no sense.

I foresaw that distressing, disappointing lack of content at level 23, put it down and never returned.

Just thinking about having to lvl up new raid armour for the new max light after the DLC hits makes my skin crawl.

Is it safe to say that House of Wolves DLC must be designed to stand on its own and must not require people buy / play the Dark Below DLC to access it? ie: light level barrier for entry for the Raid, PVP map rotation, etc?

If level cap is to be raised again, how will that work for people who didn't buy Dark Below? Will they get the same level cap as those who buy both? Or does 1 DLC = 32 cap, 2 DLCs = 35 cap? (if 35)

What if people skipped Dark Below DLC because they felt it wasn't adequate, but HoW DLC is much more worth it and people want this to be their first DLC but Bungie says "No, you must buy Dark Below DLC first." Is that even possible?

simple. Tower vendors sell new armor just like when TDB launch.
If I had to guess: Tower sells 32 light gear. TDB gear auto bumped to level 33. Max light level is 34. Just a guess though.

Who's ready for....MORE IRON BANNER?!

I can hardly contain myself, what more could I ask for other than the same event months in a row. Bungie are ingenious.

Ultimately, my disappointment in Destiny is in how much of a good thing Bungie has squandered and is squandering.

They had a wealth of MMOs to study and use as basis for good mission design AND story. The misuse (or lack of use) of the lore alone is so disappointing. I've posted this before:

Someone on Reddit fleshed out the first battles for Earth after The City was built, along with the Twilight Gap, based on Grimoire.

Like--holy shit, these would be amazing to see in-game. Either via godly CG or in-game engine.

Even better: let us replay these historical battles as Strikes/Raids.

The Battle of the Six Fronts
-Unlock/discover the entrance of the House of the Devils
-Launch an assault on the House
-Retreat via vehicles back to the City after the Fallen swarm you
-Force six players to defend six separate strong points, using battlements/mounted weapons, as well as your own characters

Or something like that.

It would be pretty awesome if some of the named "heroes" of the struggles (Saint-14, Saladin, Zavala) would actually fight alongside you as NPC characters.

See, I want things like this. This game has so much potential for story, even if alot was told in cutscenes. It really does feel like the rumored Activision enforced story change really hurt the game.

Thing is, i actually liked Destiny a lot, but never played any of the DLC. Its a very addictive game, but i really wish there was more areas than what it initially released with. Hoping Destiny 2 will work on that instead of relying on DLC, no offense

I'm pretty happy that the last IB gave me a few perfectly rolled Jolder's Hammer and Felwinter's Lie. As someone who doesn't particularly like PVP I'm fine with it being the control game mode. Plus they did intorduce new maps in the last IB.

For me...

I enjoyed the game for about a few weeks. When I started weighing the options to improve my character and measuring the grind time required to complete them, I punched. Best Buy only gave me $15 for it, but that went towards Wolfenstein so it was a fair trade off.

Just add the ability to talk to people in the game for a raid or strike would make this game way more accessible than messaging outside it and using forum's.

Problem is they need the game to "rely" on DLC to fund the server support and development. It's a light-MMO that they don't want to charge a monthly fee for. So they ask that people pay for new content at regular intervals.

I feel that they are adding to the house of wolves DLC after the lackluster feedback from the dark below, which was not worth the asking price IMO.

Doesn't help that where I live the price for the DLC is quite a lot more then in the US, $25 for the pass compared to £35 in the UK

How nice of them to introduce new maps I've paid for or that were in the game already a whole month (or longer?) after they promised. Bungie are so good at delivering on promises.

Dat vault space update...

I'm kind of off it thanks to Bloodborne. I'll do the weeklies for the coins, but my main is maxed with great weaponry and a WIDE selection of exotics/armor, and my other characters are pretty much there just to farm mats when needed. Not doing bounties anymore unless the coincide with a weekly, maybe a nightfall. I'm done with the raid...enough is enough, Christ.

Looking forward to the next DLC so that I can play it for a few weeks and then be done with that too. It's fun, don't get me wrong, but I've done the same thing over and over and over and over again. The second I stepped away, I found myself looking at it as a chore.

I'm in the same boat as you. I just wanted to say rather than just kill the boss 2 extra times for your alts you guys should do 2x death singer in addition to the boss since death singer is also an exotic drop. Gorgon chest too.

Sorry, I worded that terribly. We do run DS/Crota 3x. Gotta get those drops. Thanks, though.

I put in around 1300hrs into Destiny and then I up and quit cold turkey. The lack of content caught up to me and I just couldn't stand to do Crota one more time. Literally have every exotic weapon in the game. Multiple copies of raid armor with different stats.

I just can't stand to play the same stuff.

HoW, though having never had a release date, feels like it's so far away. The gap in content, in what was already a short game, is torturous.

Borderlands 2 is the level of content you should shoot for in a game such as that. There's literally so much to do it's overwhelming. With destiny, there's so little to do it's infuriating.

Can't imaging how you got 1300 hours out of 10 hours of gameplay.

Also yeah they should stop packing in PVP maps into the damn expansions. I literally don't care about PVP, I'm sure alot of people don't care for it. And having 2-3 maps every goddamn expansion is such a waste.

A lot of people do care or it though. Personally, I wouldn't of brought the game if pvp wasn't included. Pack all the maps they like I say. I'm sure just as many people do care for it.

As much as I love both games, I feel like Borderlands gets a pass for having a lot of fetch-quest type content with voice overs because of the type of game it is. It's not destiny. Destiny is not Borderlands. Other than shooting, they play nothing alike, have a different tone and different atmosphere entirely.

When I want to play Borderlands I fire up handsome collection. When I want to play Destiny, I fire up Destiny.

I'm looking forward to HoW because it should have some nice additions, even if some of the areas for story missions will end up on parts of existing maps. This will be better timed than WDB was, at least, because this time between TDB, hard Crota and now HoW is a lot longer in feeling, considering how much was (or, arguably, wasn't) added with TDB. HoW coming mid-late May (if we're lucky) would give us that, then they'll probably open hard Arena in June and we'll have the rest of June, July and August until the Comet hits in September. If they had delayed TDB until January we might have felt a bit differently about this time of "nothing to do" even though there's still plenty to do, IMO.
