Just got linked this post. Sorry for quoting several pages back. But just want to be clear here: you are not employed by OpenCritic, nor do you have any contractual relationship with us.

Knowingly breaking an embargo is a serious mistake, one that calls into question your motives for reviewing games to begin with. Are you posting your reviews to help others? Or are you just doing it to gain a quick follower or two? Regardless, it's not sustainable and certainly not something that OpenCritic will support. We've disabled your contributor account for the time being; I'll discuss next steps with the team in the morning.

oh yea....do you still have to eat food in this game to recharge that stuff

Yes, but you can craft biocells instead of scavenging candy bars to recharge from what I read. I believe powers recharge slowly over time and can be helped through upgraded augs. Players with the game can correct me if I'm wrong though.

This is just what I've gathered from reading interviews and watching dev commentaries.

The entire reason we made OpenCritic is to better the industry for all parties, and we believe embargoes do that. One reason we believe that is for what's you've been called out on in this thread: so that no one's pressured to publish a review after only a few hours.

Crafting? Next you'll tell me there is base building.

Crafting? Next you'll tell me there is base building.

You'll find blueprints to craft some stuff in the game like biocells, typhoon ammo, mines, etc. It's not a full-fledged mechanic of the game. Just think of it as a way to use the stuff you loot into more meaningful stuff. From what I've read, it seems like they took cues from Last of Us's crafting system where you craft to use, instead of craft-to-hoard (ala Fallout 4).

The good kind of crafting. For biocells, multitools and special ammo. Removes the reliance on those few protein bars, the developer sparsely spread around in HR.

Biocells also have double use as energy cells for activating some machines in the hub.

Multi tools are great for getting around those lvl. 5 hacks early on, but you'll lose the chance of getting any experience from the lock as trade-off.

Oh yeah, hacking got really hard in my eyes. I'm constantly failing many lvl. 2 locks without more points in covert hacking etc. HR wasn't so strict in my eyes.

oh man, that deus ex review, and other reviews on their site are pretty poor. not sure what that means for the opencritic contributor program...could use a bit more vetting

Does anyone have a link to that old video from HR where Jenson is just running around beating people to death for just saying anything? Just a montage video.

That's actually good IMO, rewards players like me who like to invest into the Hacking augs. Seems like they really are making each of the 4 gameplay tenets distinct and more rewarding (combat, stealth, hacking, social) in DX:MD. HYPE!

The goal is to let anyone who takes reviewing games seriously a chance to participate in a mainstream aggregator in a way that maintains their ownership of their content.

Or alternatively, get away from all the low-quality, no-nuance reviews that dominate platforms such as Steam, Amazon, Metacritic, etc.

We'd love your feedback ^_^ But probably better to email or PM us.

Man why don't you check first and make sure it's okay before doing stuff like that. To be told like that---gotta stung.

Aaanyways, I completed the previous game *but* without the DLC. Hopefully that wouldn't make me go "Huh, what/who is this?" when I play this game.

I would play the DLC beforehand. Just a tip. It's not necessary but it will enhance your experience with certain characters and events.

IGN Germany gave the game an 8 and then they took down the review because they broke embargo. I was on the page for like 5 mins before it was gone.

Anyone know if the day-one-edition/pre-order stuff is only for certain retailers, or should I be fine regardless of where I buy it? I'm thinking in Europe, Denmark specifically.

Augmented smackdown.

I'm looking forward to this game, but I'm hoping the way your choices affect the world are more grey and organic than Dishonored. Dishonored basically boiled down to "killing bad, stealth good!" I always try to go stealthy, but you know, accidents happen. I don't want the bad outcome to trigger because one dude I tranq slipped off a roof and died.

I don't know about pre-orders but day-one edition isn't retailer specific. It's widely available so you can pick it up from anywhere, really.

So hyped for this game. Love that embargo will lift soon but it will make it even harder to wait until Tuesda. Might have to bury my head in some other game over the weekend to take my mind off it.

Well DeathSparks was surprised that the review was accessible before the embargo so maybe it wasn't intentional.

Also the fat Lee storyline sucks. That character overall suffers from severe whiplash in where they take his story episode to episode.

It's been a long time since I've seen that show, did he get fat in reality and it bled into the show? Or was it faked for plot? Either way. I remember hating it.
