I guess there's ways to reduce it. Obisidian ring with the cube maybe

The every 3rd hit of your Spirit Generators putting an EP is meh (mostly because stuff like Mad Stone exists). But being able to explode Implending Dooms on activation of SSS is pretty insane especially when combined with Gungdo GAWD.

Could be useful in a build that doesn't use SSS, I suppose. (generator build?)

Uliana's Stratagem [New]
2 pieces: [Every third hit of your Spirit Generators applies Exploding Palm.]
4 pieces: [Your Seven-Sided Strike deals its total damage with each hit.]
6 pieces: [Your Seven-Sided Strike detonates your Exploding Palm.]

So with Madstone

and Gundgo Gear

the first hit of Seven-Sided Strike applies and detonates Exploding Palm, Gundgo Gear causes the explosion of that Exploding Palm to apply to other mobs in range, and the remaining hits of Seven-Sided Strike repeats the process?

Could be. Depends on whether Gungdo Gear's "on death explosion" wording means exactly that. If so, palms detonated by SSS wouldn't spread. Will need to try it out.

So it's like a super enchant? Still 50 Souls for a single enchant is an insane price.

I guess I will wait and see in order to understand what it actually is.

Depends on if whether we are still allowed to use Myriam after re-forging with cube.

If we can, chances are pretty high to get the right rolls with less than a dozen reforges (i.e. high base dmg). And then you can top it off at Myriam with the 10% affix roll.

If we can't use Myriam after reforging, then it'll be harder. Even so, 50 souls is cheap. Just think of it as getting a SMK drop every 50 legendaries. I'm pretty sure that does not happen for 99.99% of the players.

Looking at the datamined cube recipes... this must be the best patch ever released since 2.0 o_O It's basically every reasonable DIII player dream combined!

guys, guys. guys. guys.

Archon, holy shit i cant wait to use archon again.

The Archon stuff looks underwhelming IMO, and Chantodo's needs to really make up the difference if you're basically gonna wear 8 (at least 7) pieces to make the best out of it. Obsidian Ring might help with the CD, but ummm, enjoy not being in Archon form for a good while while it cools down. I guess you'd have to try to make a Akkarat style setup to get anywhere near perma-Archon.

you can use RoRG and leoric crown in the cube to save a ring piece (unity ? archon doesn't tank well iirc) and have some good cooldown, also evocation
I think you can have a good 70+% uptime on archon with obsidian, spam CC the rest of the time and reduce cooldown with spenders

davepoobond

you can't put a price on sparks
More datamined info reveals there's no more rift keystones

Wowzers

No need to do bounties for tokens

No need to do rifts for grift tokens

No more trials

They just said fuck it and changed every aspect of adventure mode in one patch lol

huh. well i guess that's nice that there are no more stones at all!

its slowly turning into what i was thinking when they first announced all of the stuff -- you go through each individual floor one by one and select them from a list.

Even with RoRG you need 7 pieces as Chantodo's is a wand + source. 5pc Vyr's and Crown might be doable but you're still looking at at least a minute CD for something with 20s uptime.

Also you'd have to forgo anything with CDs to make sure Obsidian Ring only reduces the CD on Archon, so you're just flailing wildly with maybe a few spenders while waiting for Archon. Meanwhile, look at Akarat's or WOTB. Sure, not 1:1 but Archon uptime is bound to be disappointing still compared to those.

Archon is 100s CD with all runes, then you have evocation (20%), leoric's (25%) and paragon levels (10%) "for free", that's already a solid 46% CDR, ie 54s CD on archon
Then you can have gloves, spaulders and source CDR (10+8+10 I think ?) on top of that, which takes it down to 40s CD (50% uptime) without obsidian procs
I think it'll be legit

You can also use that to retain stacks (you'll have 50 base stacks + a lot of stacks from just hitting enemies) so you still hit pretty hard while out of archon

I don't play Wizard outside of Delsere and Tal Rasha plus never played with Vyr when it was new...

But that new Archon set looks insane to me personally.

I think it will have some struggle against Rift Guardians though. 300% damage increase doesn't seem like a lot. But getting stacks from hitting enemies AND getting stacks from killing enemies means you can be putting 700-800%+ stacks easily.

Also with the new Cube plus Obsidian Ring of Zodiac & The Swami I don't see how you can't have basically permanent Archon up all the time (or at the very least have the stacks up all the time).

You also have to consider the existence of these new Legendaries in the game:

P3_ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_011 -Archon stacks also increase your Attack Speed, Armor and Resistances by [{VALUE1}*100]%.

P3_ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_013 -Every second while in Archon form you expel a Wave of Destruction, dealing [{VALUE1}*100]% weapon damage to enemies within 30 yards.

Edit: Wait I just realized these two effects might be the new Chantodo effect of each of the individual Chantodos (sort of like Danettas).

Edit 2: I actually realized that the individual Archon skills don't actually count towards reducing the Cooldown of Archon which severely limits the usability of this build and the ability to attain perma Archon. So I guess this is not as powerful as I initially thought.

Just saw the 2.3 PTR datamine, and the additions actually look pretty positive. I am kind of surprised they didn't make the affix be rolled every time it's applied so players would have to consume more resources to try re-rolling better affixes. Almost seems TOO generous for Diablo.

But wouldn't most people just slap Furnace, Ice Climbers, and Arcane (or Lightning) Immunity at very high Greater Rift levels?

Ice Climbers and Arcane immunity no.

Amulet + Ring will compete with each other and most people will probably be running some combination of F+R + RoRG or F+R + Unity.

Ice Climbers is going to be competing with a lot of build defining Legendaries.

Furnace will get used a lot though for sure.

it's more variety, it's not going to hurt you

all you do in the diablo endgame is farm anyways, does it really matter where or how you do it?

A2 and A3 bounties are fucking terrible so yes it matters where and how I do it. It's not like farming A2 and A3 bounties are optional now. You have to do it if you want to use the cube.

So what do you guys think the Reforge Legendary, Upgrade Rare item and Convert Set item recipes are for?

Is the Upgrade Rare item to upgrade it into a Legendary? I guess this is a way to more specifically target certain Legendaries especially weapon (because otherwise it's just better to gamble for armor pieces).

Reforge Legendary could be re-rolling all the stats on a Legendary, thing is that I hope it keeps the Ancient tag on a Legendary. Would make rolling Ancients Legendaries much better. Otherwise it's only going to be used convert those rare Legendaries into Ancient at a 1/10 chance.

No idea what the Convert set item recipe is for. You can convert an Inna's Chest into a Raiment set? That kind of thing. Seems weird but that's cool. Is it randomized or targeted? Or maybe you convert Set items to the same set (so you convert a Shoulder of the same set to a Glove of the same set)?

My guess is that some or all of those are things that they were refering to when they said don't get too excited over datamined stuff

Is there any room in the US GAF clan? I am Damisa#1428

The clan's always full, we just cycle out the people who have been idle the longest whenever someone new wants in. Go ahead and request an invitation from the clan search and I'll look for the request tonight.

Yup, definitely going back to WD.

Looks like this might be the mojo effect:
"The first time an enemy deals damage to you, reduce that damage by [45-60]% and Charm the enemy for 3 seconds."

Source (more data mining): http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/3bj6bx/ptr_23_new_items_set_changes_korean_datamine/

Here are the rest: (nothing confirmed yet, and that gem was in there on the last data mined patch and didn't make it in. Maybe it will this time?)

lol I'm guessing it meows the first time someone attacks you. Will either be real cute or annoying as fuck. can't wait to roll a wd

Spider set for WD already looks underwhelming. They changed the spider cermonial dagger to increase corpse spider dmg by... 45-50%? Meh. Helltooth gets a bracer that lets you cast 2 wall of death before CD and you can use any wpn with it.

Arachnyr
2 pieces: [Summon a permanent Spider Queen who leaves behind webs that deal [1500]% weapon damage over 5 seconds and Slows enemies. The Spider Queen is commanded to move to where you cast your Corpse Spiders.]
4 pieces: [Hex gains the effect of the Toad of Hugeness rune. While Toad of Hugeness is active, you take 40% reduced damage. After Toad of Hugeness finishes his meal, you will heal for 10% of your maximum Life per second for 10 seconds.]
6 pieces: [The damage of your creature skills is increased by 500%. Creature skills are Corpse Spiders, Plague of Toads, Firebats, Hex, and Piranhas.]

Helltooth
2 pieces: [Enemies hit by Wall of Death are afflicted by Necrosis, becoming Slowed and taking 2500% weapon damage every second for 10 seconds.]
4 pieces: [After applying Necrosis to an enemy, you take 50% reduced damage for 10 seconds.]
6 pieces: [Enemies afflicted by Necrosis take an 800% increased damage from your primary skills, Acid Cloud, Firebats, Zombie Charger, Grasp of the Dead, Piranhas, and Wall of Death.]

those numbers look low.. like real low :\

edit:
meanwhile...
Legendary Power: Seven-Sided Strike performs an additional 7 strikes.
+
4 Set: Your Seven-Sided Strike deals its total damage with each hit.

lol!

rofl that's exactly what I thought. "Great now I can still die in one shot, thanks."

Sadly not a lot of new stuff for DH but that's to be expected, some cool stuff though.

Mojo

I don't play much Witch Doctor (actually none at all) but that Mojo sounds over powered as fuck to me. Charm is the most powerful crowd control mechanic in the game and scales with Greater Rifts.

Gem

This gem also seems like the new best gem to equip next to Bane of the Trapped. Unless they made Rift Guardians significantly weaker. That first ability better have some cap or it will get real stupid real fast.

Monks seem to be getting that new Belt that gives toughness with SSS and a new Fist Weapon Lion's Claw that doubles your SSS. This pretty much means that if the SSS build is going to be viable you need to equip the Flow of Eternity on your character and the Lion's Claw in your cube.

Also why the fuck would you give Demon Hunters this Belt?

Belt
Your Hatred generators attack 30% faster and deal [30-40]% increased damage.

Unless this doesn't apply on Kridershot + Elemental Arrow.

Also the Shenlong set seems like it's going to be used for a pure Generator build set. Might make for the return of the original cookie cutter Monk build with Cyclones and just auto attacks! Maybe it's usable with the SSS set, it's tough to say. This is something that is going to require some testing for sure.

nortonff

Hi, I'm nortonff. I spend my life going into threads to say that I don't care about the topic of the thread. It's a really good use of my time.
Any realease date for the patch ?
Hope to get in PS4 the same day as PC.
