Graphically? I very much doubt it.Wonderful job by Shadows devs. For now I stick to my prediction that Ghost of Yotei will look better graphically and art direction.

The only thing I cans see Yotei exceeding in is facial IQ and animations.
If they include PSSR they will possibly be forced to reduce the native resolution to 720p and upscale to 1440p.
taau is quite lightThat's not how it works. They'll just upscale from whatever its at now.
Ubi has their own upscaling tech they're using.
They said that the PSSR patch has already been submitted for cert (before the game even launched). Of course, I can’t say exactly when the patch will land, but safe to say it should be on the order of weeks and not months.I don't know how much you're allowed to say, but I'm actually thinking of holding off on playing AC Shadows till they drop the Pro PSSR patch, I was currently already playing MSGV (which i really love).
My question is how long do you think we'll be waiting for the patcH? if you're not allowed to answer that's fine but I did think it's worth asking.
Yup (and GoT is a PS4 game).![]()
Ideally we should expect a 2025 big budget open world game to look better than a 2020 big budget one.
I thought you were playing this game on your Series X.If yotei can looks better than shadows i will be over the moon.
Deffo waiting for a pc port of yotei after playing shadows. I need it to look as close as possible and no way thay the pro can deliver that in my opinion. The hardware just isn't good enough. Compared to my pc obviously. Which is worth like 4 times a pro.
In terms of PSSR, we analysed PSSR and TAA dat the time of shipping AC Shadows and found better results with our TAA solution. However, PSSR is a new upscaler and after an in-depth collaboration with Sony over the past few months, many issues have been addressed, mostly around moving vegetation and water - problems that other titles have faced. We're now confident that the image quality with PSSR will always be better than with TAA.

Nice. For launch, our priority was quality mode specifically to ensure it didn't prompt graphical artefacts or other issues. We've continued to optimise RT reflections and the game in general, and we're happy to say that a future update will enable RT reflections on PS5 Pro's balanced mode.
Yea but it won't have Naoe.

I wonder if as part of optimizing reflections, they have improved quality as well. Seemed quite noisy to feel like a bonus. And may be PSSR can clean it up like it did for R&CAlso:
"RT reflections were developed after the initial delay to AC Shadows. Given the shift in our release window, we wanted to make sure we remained competitive on high-end PCs and PS5 Pro. We had an extremely motivated team that had learned a lot developing the RTGI solution, and felt confident in achieving the objective of shipping RT reflections with a 30fps performance target on Pro. For launch, our priority was quality mode specifically to ensure it didn't prompt graphical artefacts or other issues. We've continued to optimise RT reflections and the game in general, and we're happy to say that a future update will enable RT reflections on PS5 Pro's balanced mode".
This is precisely why I tell people that when a game lacks a featureset/has issues/etc, it's generally down to devwork. It's Game Design 101, and as a student of said major, it was one of the first things we learned. It's truly like a child's sandbox. You can bitch and complain about a missing shovel, less sand than other sandboxes, or what have you. Or..........you can build something appreciable with the tools available.
This essentially is the info I heard from the dev team. Better them than me to put it out there![]()

Now the 40fps mode will become great on Pro. PSSR (better than their TAA that breaks in motion), RTGI + RT reflections. Also the 60fps mode will greatly benefit from PSSR.Also:

They are talking about eventually adding virtualized geometry to vegetation and characters when they release expansions. Should be interesting to see how far they are able to push the hardwareThis essentially is the info I heard from the dev team. Better them than me to put it out there.
So PSSR will be present on all modes and extended RT will be added to balance mode as well. There are some other tweaks under the hood as well but now there will be meaningful improvements over base in every mode! Definitely something to look forward to!
I agree on this. In fairness the AC shadow protagonist us cute. For me, I just kinda dissapointed the game has twisted gender ideology binary crap thing in it with one of the npc in the game. About, GOY, Im a bit worried GOY since the actress model used as protagonist is a radical left and active lgbt activist. I just pray that there will no push and force woke agenda in GOY especially twisted gender ideology like binary, transgenderism and misuse of pronouns trash.Christ, Ubisoft is woke but they still created both characters that are attractive. Naoe is not a sexbomb but she is cute.
But this old and ugly hag?
Which is also means good news for upcoming ps5 games especially DS2, GTA6, Wolverine, Saros, etc. Pssr ml is really evolving in a very fast pace and more exciting is the pssr + fsr4 integration coming up in the near future. This essentially is the info I heard from the dev team. The 40fps mode is (in base and pro consoles) for 120hz TVs. It has no VRR in any console since once it drops the minimum it drops is 39. But my experience is that even in the base PS5 the 40fps modes are rock solid.I’m hung up on the VRR on PS5 Pro. 48fps is the minimum which makes it useless in 40 fps mode. Series X minimum is 40fps
Agreed. Most the games I played on pro have even more modes…which was not what I heard Mark say.Don’t see the lie. I see set expectations.
The lady isn't even ugly though. She just looks like she is in her 40s and covered in dirt and sweat.Christ, Ubisoft is woke but they still created both characters that are attractive. Naoe is not a sexbomb but she is cute.

Assassin's Creed Shadows - PS5 Pro VS RX 6800XT Midrange PC
I’m hung up on the VRR on PS5 Pro. 48fps is the minimum which makes it useless in 40 fps mode. Series X minimum is 40fps
I rather play at 60fps, but the graphics in balanced mode seem much better.
Can’t decide XSX or Pro so I just contemplate lol
I also agree this comparison is completely meaningless. It's also pretty ridiculous to use a ryzen 7 7800x3D (is this mid range now?..) for this, this will obviously help the performance quite a bit at 1080P in cities and such.Eh, kinda useless. No matched settings or benchmarks passes.
Edit: Also unsure, but maybe someone can verify. One of the comments states that the upscaler doesn’t use axises but pixel count. So 50% is actually half the amount of 4K pixels, not 50% per axis. This means the "Performance" Mode was presumably running at 2723x1531 and upscaling to 4K, but I find it hard to believe. The uploader doesn’t seem to know either.
All in all, this guy doesn’t know what he’s doing.
40fps already is better than performance due to it's increased draw-distance and the difference between 40fps and 60fps doesn't feel too big in this game. Now the 40fps mode will become great on Pro. PSSR (better than their TAA that breaks in motion), RTGI + RT reflections. Also the 60fps mode will greatly benefit from PSSR.

it's also important to note that ps5 pro drops to 864p and 952p often with nothing happening on screen in a relatively calm areaEh, kinda useless. No matched settings or benchmarks passes.

Sure but it´s on the devs not the hardware. Also you have to consider it´s RTGI plus 60fps this is a $700 complete system not a $700 standalone GPU. To me this is not a impressive PS5 upgrade neither as DF said in the video.I actually think this upgrade is pretty underwhelming. Yeah, i know RTGI yadda yadda yadda....base PS5 also has that, and wasnt the whole point of the Pro - to have "quality mode" like graphics with 60fps?
And it fails to do that, because to get RTGI (pretty much identical to base PS5 in quality mode) it had to sacrifice resolution quite a bit, resulting inferior image quality.
Maybe if they patch in PSSR in future, then we can have quality-like graphics with 60fps, like lets say TLOU.
Even if the resolution drops to 720p or 640p as long as PSSR works properly everyone winsGood luck to those who are waiting for the PSSR patch. PSSR is more expensive than TAAU and since this is already dropping to 864p, i wouldnt be surprised if the PSSR mode drops to 720p.
I will run the same test on my 3080 and see if i can hold 60 fps at 1080p.
The quality mode is around 1440p on all consoles. I would recommend people just play that and devs stop releasing sub 1080p performance modes on consoles. Especially the Pro. its insulting to the userbase.
