What do you mean do we not understand? Of course we understand. Just looking at it in reality it's not quite as much of an improvement on multiple fronts as expected. The value proposition compared to building a solid PC with all the benefits that brings isn't as impressive as many hoped. It's still really impressive, especially the VRAM. But for many that doesn't matter as much as Microsoft is essentially competing with themselves now in some ways.
Especially since there's been very few exclusives. So there's even less reason to own a console versus an open platform.
Clearly you don't understand.
We've been over this countless times.
Millions of people do not and will never play games on PC. It's just not going to happen.
So when discussing new console hardware where games will look and perform better than the other console, it doesn't matter what is happening with the PC version.
People don't give a shit. You know how many of my friends ran out and built gaming PCs after seeing what games could look like in 4k running on my PC?
None.
The guy playing COD/Battlefield/Madden doesn't give a shit about PC gaming.
Yeah, he probably doesn't give a shit about these higher tier more expensive pro consoles, but there a much better chance of that dude getting one of these if he constantly hears that his games look and run better on them.
