Medal of Honor was unfinished... And running in 60fps. Backpedal all you want.
Warfighter was also targeting the lowest common denominator(s). But please go on.

Anyone making a PS3 game since it doesn't use Direct X? ID doesn't even use OpenGL anymore.
Or are you talking on the PC platform where they simply port the 360 version of games?

Like I said... If that were the case, Star Wars 1313 would be running in 60fps.
It's like people aren't realizing what a true DX11 game is.
A far cry from something like Medal of Honor: Warfighter being demoed at 60fps on PC at E3.

Yeah DX9 with DX11 slapped on. Go on.
FB2 on PC is DX10+ there is no DX9 API. Please go on.
It doesn't look as good as Star Wars 1313. Go on.
Again, lowest common denominator, and what does that have to do with anything exactly? Keep movin that goal post, you'll eventually score. Please go on.
This forum needs a new feature that lets me tag individual posters with, well, tags. And specific posts. So I have instant reminders that someone horribly stupid is posting an opinion in some other related thread.
And also because developers don't want to lock out the number of people that are still rocking an older GPU or OS. Same thing will happen with Win8. Those of us using Win7 and dx11 GPUs will be fine. There is nothing to worry about.
Couldnt someone write a plugin/script for neogaf if Evilore/(that tech dude I dont know his name) doesnt want to do it?This forum needs a new feature that lets me tag individual posters with, well, tags. Untalkative_Bunny said:Yeah, I'd really like to know when people like Durante are offering opinions on things. Guy is cool.
You seem to be truly moved with my posts.
Have you actually tried Windows 8? It's essentially a better version of Windows 7 with a tiled start menu and a built-in smartphone-like store. Most of the whining is from people that don't have it installed, cos if they did, they'd be wondering what the fuss is all about - every piece of software that I used on Windows 7 works fine on Windows 8. There's even easy ways to bring the Start menu back if you really want it.
We can only hope it plays out exactly like Vista.
That'd be a cool feature, definitely a few people I'd love to know who posts. Durante being one of them
So you're at the deflection stage now huh? Cool beans.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=kL9VSdKBdOU&NR=1Sorry for derail but where is this from?
You are saying that console games will generally feature SGSSAA? I truly want to live in that world.First 3 will happen
The difference is Vista ran like shit. Windows 8 runs really well. People will upgrade to Windows 8 when they buy a new laptop, get used to it just like they got used to Windows 7, and the nerds online will continue to bitch and moan while the world goes on.
Those were DX9 games anyway. Completely different issue.
Halo 2, a game that uses DX9, which is available on XP, but the game has been made to artificially require Vista.
Super Awesome DX11.1 Game, a game that uses DX11.1, which is not available on anything other than Win 8.
Ps3 developers use LibGCM.Anyone making a PS3 game since it doesn't use Direct X? ID doesn't even use OpenGL anymore.
Easy, although scenes need to stay 'simplistic'..4k + 8x SGSSAA + 240 fps
Believe.

No alpha/transparencies allowed.
Atleast not a lot, especially in full resolution. No alpha/transparencies allowed.
if it were that simple, most games wouldn't still be based on DX9.

Lots of newer games require DX10 and higher:
Battlefield 3
Just Cause 2
MOH Warfighter
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Need for Speed the Run
Sleeping Dogs
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Assassin's Creed 3
Black Ops II
Hitman: Absolution
Like I said, users will upgrade to DX10 compatible HW & SW over time, and devs will start using those API's like they've always done.
Tell you what, Microsoft.
Put Halo 4 on Windows 8 and I'll eat up your DX 11.1 exclusivity bullshit and thank you for it.
I think W8 broke all the AA / post process injectors everyone is going crazy over right now.I really like my Windows 8 installation...
Win 8 Gaming is also fine, a slight increase in FPS on average even... (http://uk.hardware.info/reviews/341...in-performance-performance-amd-radeon-hd-7970)
You mean Halo 5.

wow, she can be mad at me any day.

I'm not sure if you're being intentionally thick or just not seeing the forest for the trees, but isn't this kind of the point?
Look at it this way: You're talking like DirectX 10 came out last year or some shit, brah. DirectX 10 came out in *2006*. In other words, the time required for that handful of games you just listed to come into existence as major games that actually require DX10 was 6 years from the release of DX10. Six!
That was my point all along. Sure I'm happy to concede the point that in 2018, there will be at least a dozen major games that will be DX11-minimum games. In fact, I basically said as much in my first post in this thread (maybe 3 posts ago). The adoption rate isn't going to happen any faster than that.
(It's also funny that you could probably only find about 12 games that actually don't support DX9 and continues to speak to the point. 10 games does not = "a lot", fyi)

My point is not a single game right now REQUIRES DX 11.1. So the people complaining are complaining about a feature set that no one uses. So by the time a game that requires DX11.1 comes out (A Windows 8 only feature) Windows 8 will probably be on SP2 and the Windows 9 dev preview will probably be out .
