DIRT 5 | PlayStation 5 Special Look | Gameplay and Next-Gen Details

It's true that it needs a lot of computing power and that's why a CU is a good fit but that doesn't mean it needs to be done on the GPU. In fact, if I recall correctly, the Tempest Engine in the PS5 is not inside the GPU. A powerful enough audio processor would also work
The APU kind of blurs the lines on some of this stuff right? The IO and the sound portions of the PS5 at least have functional silicon that is a part of the chip. Beyond that, there is a chance that the IO/audio silicon is slightly altered GPU circuitry and might explain why Sony felt it was a good idea to "cheap out" on raw video circuits compared to XSX.

it's a fascinating topic and maybe a deep dive will surface in the upcoming months after all the launch hoopla has settled.

The impulse triggers on the X One was already a huge step in immersion for racing games.

I hope the DualSense holds up to what it promises. It can be an even bigger jump in feedback than impulse triggers.
Been a long time since I've held a xone controller. Are the impts just two additional FFB motors located proximate to the triggers? I assume resistance does not vary on them. I remember playing Forza 5 demo on a kiosk and thought the triggers were straight up next gen magic. Sony hopefully brings something new with DS stuff and it isn't just marketing. Racing games and an off-road one with different surfaces is a perfect place to demonstrate that.
