Yuterald is a special-class of poster. I think even more of the anti-DmC people can agree.

I don't get it either. NT gets soooo much shit for no good reason at all. It's kind of disappointing to see people wanting a company and a game to fail so badly.I'm just not sure why Ninja Theory is getting all the flack. Capcom has demonstrated a talent for fucking up their properties on either side of the Pacific in the last few years, so I don't know what people would prefer for the game. Mikami is gone. Kamiya is gone.
Yea, that's essentially my mind exploding. You guys are just that ridiculous. This whole community outcry has been an embarrassment for the gaming community and caused me to really consider being done w/ message boards... I've been following this shit since the beginning, so it's not a sudden realization.

so all we gotta do is continue bitching about games you like and you'll stop your passive aggressive whining about the myriad of legitimate criticisms your sacred cows receive? You'll just up and leave?
neoGAF: Please turn it up to eleven. We can get something good out of this DmC farce.
It would be great if you'd be done with DmC threads at least, because you don't seem to have anything of substance to say about the game, only the meta-commentary and "oh, neogaf!"
Ah, naturally.
Honestly, I'm having a hard time take any of these claims of journalist ethics seriously. It ALWAYS depends on the game and the whether or not it's something the general gamer responds too. In this case DmC has skepticism surrounding it and anything positive people is treated with suspicion. But of course, these same folks who decry these reviews for DmC will be salivating over the positive reviews for MGR next month.
This witch hunt is ridiculous.
He's right though... all of your posts in DmC threads are commentary about the community without actual substantial posts of your own.Shut it. I aint even getting into this shit with you, you're basically a joke account at this point to me.
No you guys are everything wrong w/ the gaming community and it makes me sick. But you are right, I'll go on another hiatus from these threads like I've done in the past. Just stop making so many fucking threads.

Hideaki Itsuno. He's still at Capcom and is responsible for what's widely viewed as the best game in the series (DMC3). Capcom should've just put the series on hold until he finished Dragon's Dogma.
Just don't start.
They're basically throwing out everything DMC means to a very vocal portion of its fanbase. Changing dante, dumbing down gameplay, 30fps, bloody palace, style ranks are broken, it goes on.
Whether or not the game is fun doesn't matter to this camp, it just shouldn't be a DMC game.
Edit: Unless you're saying you don't know why NT is getting flack instead of Capcom, in which case FUCK no, this is Capcom's fault.
Itsuno sounds just as clueless as anyone at Capcom lately. He doesn't know what he's doing with Devil May Cry.
Pretty sure Capcom PR is keeping him on a leash with DmC. You don't direct games as mechanically sound as DMC3 and DMC4 if you're clueless.Itsuno sounds just as clueless as anyone at Capcom lately. He doesn't know what he's doing with Devil May Cry.
Can you at least clear up how long it would take an average person to beat the game or how long it took you to beat it? There are a lot of different reports on it... it would be good to have a solid number from a reliable source.
Which is why Bayonetta has replaced DMC as my new favorite game/series.Ninja Theory is operating under Capcom's mandate and instruction. They told them to change the look and visual style. And I can even understand where Capcom is coming from. They want to appeal to a broader audience and reinvent a stagnant series.
If you want the OG style of DMC gameplay, it's been my understanding that Bayonetta is that thing, refined. So you have somewhere to go.

.....
thanks for proving my point.
They don't go up like a breeze in the demo either unless you use the Demon dodge, that was what that video was showing (timed Demon Dodge into Trinity Smash on two enemies = instant SSS). Also do they actually go down in letter grade if you don't do anything or do they stay the same letter?First run lasted 13 hours on nephilim with B or better grades, but note that completion % (keys, secret missions, lost souls) were low all along (some levels require to come back and replay after you got Aquila or some specific key). Game has quite a bit of content to look out for, and how much of it you collect acts as a multiplier on the final grade for the level.
Also, one last note: I didn't play the demo, but In the final code the grades definitely don't go up like a breeze as in the video you linked before. I think I got SSS like 10 times in the whole game.
What's this based on? The comments that he's made about this game? I really wouldn't expect anything less from him. You can't expect him to throw this game under the bus.
Instead, he's just throwing the original series under the bus. I don't know how much of a role Itsuno played in DMC being outsourced but his comments alluding to the original series being stale and too difficult for new players don't really give me any faith for the series under his creative control.

I have no idea what Capcom is filling its water coolers with these days, but it appears to be straight up brain-poison. Yeah, DMC4 sold the most. Which makes it somehow an abject failure that needed rebooting at the house of quality that is NinjaTheory and in UE3.
Capcom is the Japanese version of EA at this point.
Not saying DmC is a bad game(seems pretty decent), but the way Capcom has been handling itself is atrocious.
its shit like this that makes me wish all of capcom's future games bomb. i don't want no more x factor type garbage in the future.
Oh it'll be on-disc DLC. ill bet you 10 dollars.
Edit: oh. Well kinda beaten. I bet it comes as DLC in some form though. Probably paid bundled with something else.
Hey capcom, maybe if your games fucking teach people how to do those awesome things the "pro" players do, you wouldnt have to dumb down your shit.
Take SFxT for example. What a bullshit "training mode". It doesn't teach you shit like baiting, footsies, punishing whiffs, or ANYTHING that makes you better. So, instead of fixing that and designing a game that tells people ALL THE UNDERLYING rules and meta games, they dumb it down and add shit like gems.
And now it's happening with DMC. Holy hell.

love the new avatar man...*cries*
I AM JIZZING ALL OVER THIS GAME, IT IS AMAZING
WAIT
WHY ARE YOU ALL NOT JIZZING OVER THIS GAME
I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU GUYS ARE NOT JIZZING OVER THIS GAME
OH MY GOD THE NOT JIZZING OVER THIS GAME CONTINUES, THIS IS AN AFFRONT TO GAMING
I AM THINKING OF LEAVING THE COMMUNITY BECAUSE YOU GUYS ARE HURTING MY FEELINGS WITH THE CRITICISMS YOU MAKE AGAINST MY BELOVED GAME
Dude, my feelings about this game are all kinds of complicated.

YesSo in one video Donte has a patch of white hair. Does his hair turn full white by the end of the game?

NT is a pretty terrible dev taking over a beloved franchise. There's not much to figure out.

The character design can make a whole world of difference for sales.
It's probably the best combat of any open world RPG, really. It's just not as tight as his DMC games -- but you can definitely feel the DMC DNA (lol) in it as well, mostly the melee classes.I haven't played Dragon's Dogma but the combat is supposed to be really decent also (at least for a game like that)

I would have loved to see what Platinum Games could have done with the Devil May Cry franchise.
Luckily, we do not need Amir0x to save the day, as DmC threads are the last place on GAF to find a circle-jerk discussion. And no, "I am actually anticipating this game" and "Fuck it, I like the new atmosphere" is quite far from what your so well known nightmare scenario describes.
Like pizzaroll said, it just sounds like he's saying exactly what Capcom has said. They're trying to sell this game. And the whole company line behind it is that people were apparently tired of the "old" DMC style and wanted something different.
