Hey is it safe to upgrade yet? Was wondering if I would be able to get my DS4 working on my PC again and what I would need? I've been using those SCP server drivers. Hoping I can still play Undertale, but scared to update and not be able to use my ds4
Yeah, DS4Windows works with Windows 10. I have it and it's working just as good as the old drivers

Yeah. I'm pretty sure this isn't the case. They're just implementing their standards. Why is everyone so cynical about everything
Damn maybe I should try wireless. I should have mentioned I was trying this wired which I assumed was simpler, but maybe not.
I made a fancy gif. Just use the connect button before turning on or connecting your controller. You may have to do it twice if you end up with red text at the bottom of the program. Oh, and make sure Steam is closed.
The Windows update that fixes this will hopefully come out next month.

Steam Link is being reported to recognizing both ps3 and ps4 controllers. I saw on imgur yesterday that it even recognized the Wii U gamepad but the inputs didn't work. .
Windows 10 should be updating today with Build 10586.3, should fix the underlying issue with using the DS4 exclusivity on Windows 10.

Symmetric sticks.
Better D-Pad.
Touchpad can be used for some useful macros.
The issue was fixed in Build 10532, so unless they regressed, it should be included. The article doesn't mention anything about connectivity.
How do you know it fixes issues with the DS4? Are you using the latest insider build? I need answers ;p
So far my DS4 works alright with the current Windows 10 but Exclusive mode doesn't seem to work properly.
Haven't seen one yet unfortunately. That's good. Is there a specific KB link for the fix? I didn't see it mentioned in the article.

Yep, it's finally fixed.
How can I update already? Do I have to wait for Windows Update?![]()
yeah, new update fixed it for me too.
If you can't get it from Windows update, you can use the media upgrade tool.

I already have Windows 10. I'm talking about the new update.
The new media upgrade will install the latest update if you select upgrade (the update is a new build of windows). Or just wait it out; eventually you'll get the download in WU.
I have been playing binding of Isaac afterbirth with the DS4, at first I was looking for some sort of software to use either that or my Wii u pro controller, but on a whim I decided to just plug the DS4 in and, without any firmware or anything, it works 100% perfectly as a wired controller.
It doesn't even unsync it from the ps4 and it makes it not turn my ps4 on, so I can still use it back and forth between my PC and PS4.
Isn't it games that half-support it that are the problem? Weird mappings, dodgy sticks etcMany games just natively support the DS4 regardless of Windows version. Ironically, these are the exact games that cause the specific issue this thread was started for.

Nope, all games that specifically account for it like Ubisoft's newer games and seemingly a lot of newer Unity games (not including ones that just detect generic input devices, in which case aren't an issue).
Working fine with input mapper for me.
My understanding is that input lag is significantly worse with ds4 windows, so not sure why you wouldn't use input mapper.

It also has the touchpad (touch) shift modifier that I can't live without.
I have tried both and found INputMappers Macro system much easier. Also it's $2 to get rid of the ads and for how good the program is, it's well worth it.
At this point I have so many games I have custom setups for, it would be a pain to switch. I also found InputMappers UI better too. Totally subjective of course.
InputMapper is also getting support for other controllers. Which will be very nice. I love the DS4 but I don't want all my custom mappings to be tied to it forever if a better controller does come out, like the Xbox Elite for instance. I think the paddles will make up for the loss of touchpad.
I am pretty sure InputMapper fully supports touchpad shift modifier too. Unless you mean something different to what I am thinking.
just to clarify DS4windows and DS4 now work fully under windows 10 after the new update?
I can finally upgrade to windows 10 now, let me download it.I'm on the new Windows build (10586) and the "hide DS4 controller" option now works perfectly.

Is the home button working for anyone else on the new Windows 10 update? Exclusive mode is fine now, but I can't bring up the steam overlay or launch big picture with the home button now.

Where are people getting this elusive update? It is neither on the official page nor in the update settings and certainly NOT in the media creation updater. I understand it was (still is?) an insider update that should be included in a public update sometime if ever?
For reference, the latest public update is KB3106932 published 11/13/2015 which did not fix the issue. Nothing else since and therefore DS4 does not open in exclusive mode with input mapper.

The Media Creation Tool does have the new patch, that's how I got it.
