DOA4 delayed again

Wish we could put :lol in the subject line.

Apparently DOA4 is now due out on 29 December in Japan.
At this rate, I really doubt it's coming out this year.

At this point, I'm just too numb to care.

i hope itagaki and co take as much time as it takes...

i'm so tired of devs who rush games out to meat a deadline...

imagine if PGR3 got the time to get to 60...

plus, PD0 will keep me company...

I agree. Take your time and make it worthwhile.

It's not like I'll have a 360 this year, but DAAAAAAAMNNN....that's not making Japan's lineup look so good at all :/

:lol It no longer surprises me at this point. I'm still planning to buy an Xbox 360 at launch on Saturday, but I get the feeling there won't be any DOA4 action until sometime next year. It's strange that magazines I look at still have "Dead Or Alive 4 12.10" ads though.

Almost makes me wonder if all those question mark boxes at the bottom of the select screen aren't supposed to be hidden characters, but rather the characters they haven't finished yet. :P

At least I'll have Neo-Geo Battle Colliseum (PS2 version) to keep my December fighting game craving satisfied...

Is this really that surprising? Their last few games suffered repeated small delays as well.

It is considering that this game is easily the XBox 360's biggest launch title, yes. They got Dead Or Alive 3 out for the Xbox launch without any problems.

Are you saying Ridge is not a big deal?
It was the biggest PS2 launch title, so I don't see why it shouldn't have that kind of success on 360.
Am I fooling myself?

IMO Ridge Racer 6 is the number two game; it seems like DOA has a larger presence (with the Xbox) than any other game. Plus look at the other PS2 launch games back then. Not exactly much in the way of competition. :)

I think DOA4 could have been one of the top, if not the top, games for the U.S. launch as well.

It was the 2nd most wanted 360 game, behind Perfect Dark and ahead of madden.

There's a huge ad in Shibuya saying DOA4 is 12.17.

...

:lol:lol:lol:lol

:lol

But maybe, just maybe...Johnnyram was misinformed? I'd like for him to be wrong on this one. :)

This time, I'm going to say....

Good.

By all accounts, no matter WHAT the DoA haters say, DoA4 seems shaping up to be the installment that brings the series into the big leagues of fighting games in the area of gameplay.

Team Ninja can take ALL the time they want to tweak it and make sure it works just right. Even if it's possible to balance patch the game via Live downloads later.

Japanese publishers and deadlines live in two different dimensions. At least they're working on the international version before the game is finished, but that's probably because Microsoft is the publisher in Europe.

I'm cool with the delays. Much better than getting rushed crap like Perfect Dark. I do wish they were a bit more realistic with their release date in the first place.

Ha ha, I was just about to mention that. Noticed it this morning. "12.17 - Dead or Alive 4 goes hi-def". I love how the first two games on that list are Everyparty and Tetris. :P

If that delay is actually true then :lol :lol :lol

That blows for the small minority of Xbox fans in Japan. The one game that would have sold boat-loads for the holidays/newyears will most likely be a no show.

Must be something seriously wrong with the game if they're not willing to rush it out for the big 360 holiday launch. Rushing didn't seem to be a problem for any other devs...

Well, it'll still make the Shougatsu rush....

even though it'll surely slip again.

I'm constantly in awe of how many Japan-a-gaffers we have. Maybe we should take a census?
