Doctor Doom is now the Infamous Iron Man

Dr. Doom Director of SHIELD inc.

(which is a book that would fail gloriously, obv, since Vic has a habit of Getting Shit Done when it comes to running an org)

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
My first comic?

The Avengers vs X-Men event.

Nothing will kill my interest in comics after reading that. (I thought it was amazing at the time tbh)

Everyone thinks that the start of events are pretty good. Then we're in for an expected yet rude surprise.

Everything that was canon before Secret Wars is still canon. It's just that some characters of the Ultimate universe had their histories written into the Marvel Universe (like Miles Morales' dad was still a SHIELD agent).

Oohhh.. So they didn't reboot the universe?

What is even the point?

Promoting the character who took the mantle to elebate him to A-Lister, while pushing the iconic Character to stay relevant and reaping the rewards of the mass influx of casual readers from the movie boom.

That's why all the main movie characters have both the original and the legacy running around.

Marvel jumped the shark a long time ago. Can't believe I'm saying this but Disney needs to clean house and just make the MCU the default universe for a while.

I'm guessing Victor is gonna wear his Doom outfit mixed with Stark Tech. Post-SW he's had no reason to wear it now that his face was cured and looks like a model.

I really need to start branching out as I am so far behind and out of the loop with just reading Astonishing Spider-Man.

What is even the point?

Two different characters meaning, two different storyline plus they can target two different type of readers.

For example Peter Parker; Spider-Man is in charge of a big company whereas Miles Morales Spider-Man is a high school teenager.

Whoa, they give Spider-Man 2099 a new costume?

Looks pretty nice.

Must be confusing for new readers though

New Hulk
Two Captain Americas
Two Thors
Two new Iron Man/Woman's
Miles in the 616

Probably more I'm forgetting, but still, for those who are coming off the movies, it must be confusing.

I dunno when I first started reading Marvel I found it easier to keep track but when I tried DC I just got lost and confused.

I mean in them sharing the title. They're showing up front that they aren't committed.

Sam Wilson's book launched last year. Roger's new book launched last month.

They wouldn't work as Falcon stories?

The reception in the stories and outside of them proves that's not the case. Falcon standing for a cause means something different than Captain America standing for one.

Beyond that, you'll sell more of a Sam Wilson: Captain America book than a Falcon book. Marvel used to do this semi-successful thing where one character would take over another's book. Daredevil goes away? Enter Black Panther: Man Without Fear. Hulk gone? Enter the Incredible Hercules. This is an extension of that concept, I assume because it sells better.

That said, I wonder if the reception will be the same.

I would like to see the reverse...one hero multiple identities.

I like that Spidey seriously considered sticking with Prodigy because he got so much love in that costume.

But wouldn't a Doctor Doom book sell as good as this would? I thought he was popular enough to support his own title.

Him wearing an Iron Man suit (even modified) sounds like a downgrade and disinterests me. The only way I'll forgive it is if it is like how LexLuthor is currently trying to steal away Superman's mantle.

In a book starring Doctor Doom it would have to go in that direction otherwise I highly doubt he's doing it just to have a change of heart.
