Vampires in Venice is awesome apart from the dodgy CGI fish vampires, and the lame ending with the badly green screened Doctor climbing the tower and just flicking a switch.

"It says here I'm your eunuch." "Oh yeah, I'll... explain later."

Plus Rory's stag do is great.

I know some people hate it but I actually think the whole Rory/Amy arc of S5 is probably one of it's strongest elements. Everyoone always bitches about how poorly Amy treats Rory but I always thought they had the most believable relationship on the show.

What do you guys make of the rumors of an Easter Special?

Started at a very unreliable source. Basically a fan with an overactive imagination.

Also
Capaldi’s costume mixes old and new – is a “bit old fashioned to denote the fact that he is the oldest Doctor” but is also “looking to the future as well” says the well-placed sourced.

That says nothing. You could have said the same about both Tennant and Smiths costumes. Especially Smiths.

Peter Jackson has confirmed that he still hopes to direct an episode of Doctor Who.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other journalists, the director explained that discussions about his involvement are "actually kind of serious".

"I would be very happy to," Jackson said. "I'd love to try my hand at television, because I've never had the discipline of having to shoot for those impossibly tiny schedules. I think I could do it okay now."

Rumblings on GB that filming for series 8 indeed started in secret on closed sets today. We're off and away!

Series 5 soundtrack is also great.

Didn't quite have the variety of killer tunes I like, although there's some great stuff in there.

Series 7 soundtrack's the best. All that variety.

One would imagine there will be some kind of teaser after TotD. Probably not as extensive as the exciting-as-all-hell Smith teaser after The End of Time, but they can't show a new Doctor and just leave us completing hanging... can they? :(

Difficult to see how they could have anything of substance for a trailer, unless it's a couple of quick shots. Be nice to have the new costume reveled in a trailer rather than a picture on the official site.

An Easter special would be fantastic and could easily fill in the probable 8/9 month gap of nothingness we're bound to have

I'd honestly take a Capaldi version of Tennant's "I'm The Doctor, I'm from the planet Galifrey..." etc. speech from The Voyage of the Damned trailer.

Watching this reminds me how the show came back with an edgy style. Vaguely cyberpunk Tardis, short haired Doctor in leather jacket, hot blonde.

Since then it's eased into being much more in line with the feel of the older show. A more professor-looking Doc, less interested in being imbued with modern grit, more comfortable being a bit Victorian and nerdy.

Reminds me of what happened in the Bond reboot, which started gritty and modern, but has lately settled into the exact same trappings of the classic era.

It's for Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time, IDW Publishing's 50th anniversary story. The Doctors are matched up with who they encounter in each of their issues (there were 12, one for each Doctor plus a team-up finale).

A that explains, thought it was the most prominent villian of each one, although Mgann-'s doesnt look muck like the master in the movie lol.

Is the comic good?

So, I've watched through Eccleston's series + the Christmas special.

Love what I've watched so far. Looking forward to getting further into it and watching some of the classic Who!

Can't believe I never watched before 2 weeks ago!

If only Tennant would have get out of the TARDIS and passed the torch during the olympics ceremony it could have redeemed the whole epsiode, but noooooo! theres only a fucking tardis sound you cant even hear well in a ceremony that it was supposed to have all of british culture. There was more time devoted to a spanish series (Cuentame) on the tv section of the ceremony for gods sake (I still cant understand why it appeared there).

There was a large section on British TV cut for time which had more Doctor Who to it, as well as Corrie, Eastenders, Pyton etc. They even rehearsed it, I believe, but they had various 'formats' of the ceremony where they'd lop sections off depending on time, and the TV bit was I believe the first to be designated to go and be replaced with the shorter thing they actually used, and it did on the night.

Well, I would have done another section fro Doctor Who maybe, but thats just me lol. The problem that I have is that the tv segment has even things that are not from british tv, that what I dont understand. I would have cut those before cutting british programming.
