There she is. Joygasmed.
Lol.

Davison and Tennant are probably the 'prettiest' of the eleven in a traditional sense, but even Tennant has that brilliant weird thing where when he's doing a concentrated stare one eye bulges a little larger than the other, which I always felt was sort of perfect for the manic madness of his Doctor.

I think Matt is pretty perfect, really, but I also think this show is about constant change and reinvention, so I'm happy if he's decided his time is over. He's had a hell of a run already. As for Cumberbatch, I adore him in Sherlock but he is Sherlock now, really. It'd have to be the 'right' role for him in Who. I fear that if he played The Master it'd just come over as his new role in Star Trek with Moffat Sherlockisms, and he's a better actor than that. It's looking increasingly unlikely Matt's Doctor will ever get a Master (unsurprising since Moffat never really liked the character), so maybe that kills that particular dream anyway.

To revive an old Eleven rumour, I'd still sort of love to see Paterson Joseph.

Maybe we should just have another pretty boy like Tennant?

Nothing against Tennant however.

Seriously though, most of the Doctors have looked weird. Ecelson was weird too.

I mean look at these people, few of them don't look at least slightly abnormal.

Why is 5 wearing a piece of celery on his coat?

I, no joking, have some sort of weird thing for Pertwee.

I'm really liking Hartnell. He's a sort of "no nonsense" Doctor, who doesn't suffer fools gladly. Smith is way too nice!

Is there really no chance of Tennant reappearing? Certainly out of all the previous Doctors/companions, I'd say he's the most likely, perhaps behind Jack.

Of course there's a chance, especially for the 50th. But otherwise he really shouldn't. He's so popular it'd be really unfair to whoever the current Doctor is to give the fans the impression they're just holding the seat warm for Tennant. Doctor encounters should be rare and, barring extremely special circumstances, far removed from their tenure.

David Tennant does have the sort of face that should age pretty gracefully, barring massive weight gain or something. I don't think he'd necessarily overshadow Smith or even Eccleston, I think more the problem is that 10/11 aren't different enough for it to be big opposition.

If by overshadow you mean in his performance, no I don't think he would.

But could his appearance diminish the specialness of Matt's run? Absolutely. Especially if his run ends up only barely longer than Tennant's. For a huge portion of the fan base, Tennant was their first Doctor and him leaving was gutwrenching. To throw him back in the mix so soon (some people were crying out for it in Matt's first season, seriously) for some kind of brief cameo would kill Matt Smith's momentum in establishing his place as a Doctor, and that's just not at all fair to him.

I guess it depends on whether you think Smith will be leaving soon, as I do. Not "soon", but certainly within the next two years.

Would the Doctor ever were a casual outfit instead of a gimmicky one?

9 and 10 did, basically. 9 especially. It's just a V-neck and a leather jacket. And if 5 didn't have a vegetable pinned to his jacket, he'd just be rocking a sweater vest and a sport-coat, which is pretty casual.

You know....I agree with this actually.

I get why Tennant appearing may overshadow Matt in the short-term, but I can only think back to The Five Doctors anniversary special where part of the up-side of Tom not appearing was that Peter wasn't overshadowed as the current Doctor. It even was a whole lot more of an issue since Tom was more iconic in the role than anyone and hadn't been gone for long at all.

Peter's role of getting to Gallifrey proper and solving the mystery was originally written for Tom, when that part of the story really should have always been for Peter. The current Doctor SHOULD be the star and he was.

However, this isn't just a special for now - this is not a shitty special like a Planet of the Dead where despite hot catsuit lady you just ignore it. Even if this special sucks, it'll live on, it won't be ignored, we'll all watch it more than once and the kids we get into Who will watch it. Well beyond the Smith era, even 20 years after another cancellation this special will still matter to the Who fan.

So for whatever problems The Five Doctors had, and however 'correct' it may have been at the time for Tom not to be in it - as a fan today it really fucking sucks that he wasn't.

And it'll fucking suck - even if the episode is amazing, if it's a multi-Doctor special without Tennant and Chris

The series feels so beyond the Tennant era at this point I think it would be fucking dreadful if he didn't show up for the anniversary. Plus his last episode was The End Of Time- that's a bum note he doesn't deserve.

The only reason I want a new multi Doctor story at this point is to see 8 in action again. Really, McGann is due another TV appearance.

The greatest problem with multi doctor episode is that the current doctor will already know what's going to happen because he remembers it happening already as multiple incarnations before.

what I would've really loved is the 50th special to be the fall of the 11th, yet the fact that he is oblivious to the whole "Silence will fall" story means that that's completely impossible.

I'm willing to bet if 8 is in it, he's probably going to be the main supporting character.

McGann is probably the one willing to put in the most time since he's looking for exposure to give his acting career a bit of a boost. Showing up in that new 8th Doctor outfit wasn't just for shits and giggles. He wants to establish a new image for the character and show that his Doctor is still relevant. Moffat should work with that.

They say the character is 15, but it's certainly obvious the actress is more physically mature--she was 23 in the beginning.

Don't worry, I checked before I made the statement to ensure this was the case. She was born in 1940, it's all good.

On ClassicWho; It's oddly anti-climactic. Takes much more of its time to tell the story, it's the polar opposite to NuWho's "RUN!" narrative. The Daleks are also really polite; they ask Ian "Are you ready?"

He's really the missing link between old and new, they need to flesh it out more really.

Supernatural shippers are the most insane out there right now. That is why I avoid nearly everything except the threads on here.

I stay faaaar away from that fandom. They have created terrible things, some that have even leaked into other fandoms sadly. I just read recaps of the crazy on Fandom Wank.
